  1. Games still on?? With this rain, they must be playing on concrete if they are - ha!! I guess they will try again tomorrow?? The weather forecast is changing a little as the week goes on - should everyone go to school with their uniforms on and the buses on standby and as soon as the forecast/doppler/satellite shows a 2-3 hour break - run out and play????? Looks like from the threads on this board that everyone has gotten bored and frustrated from not being able to play------------ there are definitely some girls that "just wanna play" ball LET THE RAINS END AND THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!

    BA Game Today

Is Leigh Little a Senior - if so, has she signed with anybody?
  3. I know Sara and Katie got a hit - I think we only had 4 hits in the game - sorry, I don't remember who else, but the errors were made by LC - 3 at 2nd I remember Listening to the radio, it sounds like if the batters weren't swinging the bat at everything, it was a strike!! - Falon struck out like 14 batters (I might add here that it sounded like LC was swinging the bat!!) and allowed only 1 hit - I heard Kimbro in left made a diving catch in the last inning that could have put LC in scoring position!! Not a whole lot of defense or offense by CC, but as usual good base running and good coaching. Next game vs. winner of Shelbyville and Tullahoma which is being played now - game time is 5:00 Tuesday according to WMSR - "The Voice of Lady Raider Softball" (just had to add that plug!!)
  4. Coffee County just won 3-0 - 1 hitter by Falon Catalano - runs scored by errors -
  5. So glad to hear that you're going to get to go to your prom this weekend!!! Hope everything goes well next week, and before you know it, you'll be feeling better than you ever have - then watch out, MTSU!!! I can't imagine you being much better than you are now, but with getting the discomfort behind you, you are sure to!! Our prayers are with you and your family.
  6. It is a double elimination tournament - the only exception is the "play-in" game between Franklin Co. and Lawrence Co which will determine which team gets to participate in the district tournament and where the district tourney will be played - if FC wins, it will be played there; if FC loses, it will be played in Shelbyville
  7. The Tennessean definitely does not cover high school sports the way they should - not only soccer, but all of the sports - the most you can hope for is an occasional token article on some player and box scores for only a few of the games - I am really shocked that they haven't tried to beef their coverage up this week with so many sports having district and regional tournaments - COME ON - just how many of their readers do you think have students (children, grandchildren, etc.) that are involved in sports - WAKE UP!!
  8. Okay, I'm confused - does anyone have a bracket??? - help, coacht!!! The district tourney is played in Sparta - correct? Who plays Monday?
  9. Who has who left to play??? I know Coffee Co. still has Columbia to play - who does Columbia, Shelbyville and Tullahoma have left to play?
  10. The first game was against Mt. Juliet 9-0 - they just won their second game 21-0 - yes, I said 21-0 - against Daniel Boone in 3 innings - not bad, 30 points scored in 8 innings!!! I'd say their bats are definitely HOT!!!! Your darling, Falon, pitched the first game (a no-hitter) and 2 innings of the second game, and then the rest of the players went in and did their "thang" - definitely a team effort - Their first single elim game tomorrow is at 1:30 (the 8:00 am game will feature the JV). Maybe CC wants to make a statement????
  11. Wow! What a district for sure - whoever wins it will certainly be their "time" because all of these teams - at least the top 4 you guys are mentioning are excellent ball teams and can beat anybody any day - Good Luck and hope you have a great and FUN District tourney!!
  12. We've got some good friends on Columbia - where does she play or if you want to give names - hope she's better soon!
  13. 16 year old (can play as 15) looking for summer travel team. Can give good references, including high school school - just interested in playing some good competitive soccer this summer with a good competitive team -
  14. Ok, girls, I just can't wait to see some of the greatest pitchers from the 2003 teams this weekend at the Worth/Lady Raider Southern Invitational Tournament in Manchester this weekend - for all of you that will be there - best of luck -and I hope everyone (not just pitchers) has your best games ever!!!
  15. Let me get this straight - to anyone that follows high school fastpitch softball, this is surely an excellent field of teams - my understanding is that all the teams that will be at the tourney have been to their state's tournaments multiple times and have either won some or have placed no lower than third!! But by the analysis on this board, whoever wins will have this to face: a) they were "just on that day" could be beat any other day when the other teams are having good games c) is just as good as their last game d) for sure are an excellent team - along with all the other teams! e) bad/good officiating (I sincerely hope we don't hear this one) Man, has the true smell of a "state tourney" alright!! The reality is everyone knows that each one of these teams can beat the other teams any day of the week - LADY LUCK will surely pay visits this weekend - but what a weekend it will be - I'M IN !! SEE YA IN MANCHESTER!! [Edited by jusluvsports on 4-3-03 7:41P]
  16. Turner from Warren Co (a sophomore) is making a name for himself!Turner
  17. Title IX is not only about softball and baseball - you have to look at the entire picture of what is spent on boys' sports vs. girls' sports - does that college that you were talking about with only a softball team also have a football team or are they heavy in other boys' sports? How many sports have the equal number of girls as football does for boys? Title IX is about the whole picture - not just one limited sport. I doubt if there are many schools in the state of Tennessee that does not violate the law to some degree (if they have a football program).
  18. There's probably very few jobs harder than coaching, that's for sure, but maybe it would help the coaches to understand the parents too since it seems to be a common thread among coaches to bash the parents (just as much as parents bashing coaches). bqmlrh said the parents should want their child to play for the love of the game - yeah!! Why do you think we transport them all over the country, spend all we've got to pay for the expenses associated with the game, and cheer with them and wipe their tears??? FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME !! NOT TO MENTION, THE LOVE OF OUR CHILDREN!! I have seen so many children gain so much in their overall development and maturity as a result of this game - it's not just about "softball", is it?? Hey, they love the game and we love the game - why do you think they get upset when they don't get to play - try to put a little understanding to that - it isn't the worst thing in the world that has happened to you coaches to have a full team of girls that really want to play! Is it? Because they, too, are hungry to learn - how do they learn? - try putting them in that game when you're 6 runs up or you're losing by a greater margin - give them a chance to learn - they are obviously hungry for that! I'm very lucky to have had a serious softball player that loves the game and does play because she works her duff off in a very hard program and spends all her summers and all her falls and springs (lucky if she gets December off) - for 12+ years!! But, yeah, I hope she gets rewarded for all of that with a scholarship! "Hugs & kisses and smiley faces all around!!!!"
