  1. Well Gov, with the amount of rebuilding that will have to take place, no one is believing that SD will win all of their games. And no one expects the other teams to lay down. But what everyone does expect is to be competitive and win more than 4 games. A perfect example of this situation is to look at Bradley Central. They have a star basketball player in Kellen Pickle, who will surely have a future in college bball. But they change football coaches and Pickle comes out for fball. Putting at risk his bball future he plays fball for the 1st time in years, starts and helps the program. Why? He just got a wild hair up his ####? There may or may not be some Kellen Pickels roaming the Halls, but there are a lot of atheltes who are. They may play other sports or go to church leagues to play bball, but they are there. Most of those players play other varsity sports at SD, some all city/region! Football was in danger of going under 50 players on varsity next yr and they just graduated 18 seniors, but that's the same amount of freshman coming up, of course some of those won't make it 4 yrs, so you see the declining trend in numbers. Basketball has lost over 20 players in the last few years and has no seniors this year. How many of these freshman and soph players there now would last 2-3 more years?
  2. I think this coaching job will be almost as popular as the football job was. We have a huge school and lots of young talent.
  3. He is staying on the staff as an assistant coach.
  4. If you are confused about my earlier post, I was responding to a post from snakeintheGRass, who apparently backed down and deleted his post. Chattcity, I assure you that these "church leaguers" that aren't seniors this year will play. And I can tell you that 1 of them could be all-district next year. And the seniors on this church team either played at SD before or were asked repeatedly to come out, but wouldn't. These guys all play 1 or 2 other varsity sports at SD, so they know about practice every day. As a matter of fact they are all practicing in the afternoons now.
  5. Let's visit some of the snake's possitive and supportive comments about coaches: On these threads: COLUMBIA BASKETBALL- "I found out today that the principal and ad hand picked Graves. WOW....pickout a mask!!!!You need one." Or-"The cream rises to the top at the end. And the spoiled part is discarded." Or-"Bad hire means bad ball......What was the admin thinking maybe they're idiots." GETTING OUT COACHED- "Most good coaches know when they were out coached and the ones who don't aren't good coaches anyway." FRESHMAN BASKETBALL-"BA are beatable but not by columbia's present coach and leadership!!!!" COLUMBIA & SPRINGHILL SCORE-".....ARE THERE UHAUL VANS SWARMING IN COLUMBIA---I THINK SO MAYBE COLUMBIA WILL LOSE TO OPEN DATE NEXT." Boy snake you really have it in for Columbia and the admin and coaches, you sound pretty positive there. You a student at Columbia, or is your kid on the bench ?
  6. Self appointed moderater=snakeintheass. Know what you are talking about before you tell people to shut up. It was about more than wins and losses. The basketball program has had 25 kids quit in 3 years. Coincidence? Don't think so. A big conspiracy, not. Snake what do you think caused that to happen? Even with no one demanding a change, how would a coach keep the job with that happening? Soddy-Daisy has some of the best coaches in Hamilton Co. We have the best wrestling coach, the best girls softball coach, the best baseball coach, award winning band and cheerleader directors. These people are loved by the school and the Community and you know what, they don't win all the time. But they lead with class, they GIVE respect and they EARN respect. We have some of the best asst. coaches in football and baseball in south east TN. We support all of these people, they care about the kids and they are good teachers, leaders, and role models for the kids. Soddy-Daisy has some of the best booster clubs in southeast TN. Raising tens of thousands of dollars to support these programs. These teams have some of the largest crowds at home and away. Football would sometimes have as many fans as the home team, on road games. So unless you are employed or attend SD, or have recently, you wouldn't know what REALLY was going on. So I would bet that if you and the monkey would just let it go it probably would have died off soon......but. It's more than wins and losses.
  7. Gorilla has the same post on the "Laura Wood resigns" thread.
  8. Chris Ricketts the top scorer in the league will probably play for sd next year. Hes only in 10th grade and he averages over 20 a game. He still needs to work on that dunk of his.
  9. Yeah that was a tough loss last night for the girls.
  10. As we said in football pretty much anything will be a step up! Why dont we go to the church league and get the best coach in the league, Greg Butler. He has carried on the dynasty the past few years.
  11. I don't recall a push for "sainthood" opperman. It's a good thing you weren't around for the induction of Ty Cobb and the other "saints" in the hall.
  12. But I thought I was AD? I met Rose in 1993.......it was in the sport book area of the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas. He had 2 tables pulled together and was betting on every horse race at every track. I went over to him and said hello and asked for an autograph, which he gave me, and I wished him luck with the HOF, he said " Yea right"! I grew up in Louisville as a Reds fan, I went to the old Crowsley Field and then to Riverfront Stadium and watched him play. A lot of people don't realize he grew up at the horse track, his father used to take him every weekend when he was growing up, it's just part of his life. Let him in.
  13. Chattsportswriter11: What do you know/think about the situation at Soddy-Daisy?
  14. I was dissappointed in the bradley and Cleveland student sections. As big of a game that was, youd think they wouldnt act too cool. Bradley has the best team in the state and a ton of students and they didnt even care about the game.
  15. Krenzel.......I love your dry wit.
  16. They did what they were supposed to do. What, you want a trophy now? Sorry you had to beat Clemson for that.
  17. I think im gonna come to make it a little more rowdy.
  18. Thats like sayin Soddy Daisy is gonna win the district.
  19. would yall bet the panthers if they are still given 7 points?
  20. An average team Wesvols? Be careful you might have to play them in next years Peach Bowl? TN needs to stay away from those average teams. According to Brohm's center from high school, the minute Ainge committed to TN, they were out of it. It was between Nebraska, UL, Notre Dame.
  21. I know Sequatch. When in Louisville visiting relatives over the holidays, I was told that it would be Tn. He was waiting till after the Mr Football award was announced, so as not to ###### anyone off.
  22. Has Bill Callahan and Nebraska come in at the last minute and stolen Brohm? Will he follow his catholic roots and play at Notre Dame? Will he follow in his grandfather, father, and brother's footsteps and play at Louisville? Will he be the next savior at Tenn?
