  1. I hope that everyone does not think that all of Franklin County's players, parents and fans had a problem with Coach Crabtree. She was as dedicated to preparing the girls for the next level of basketball as any coach FC has had in the recent past. She has previous players of her's coaching at the college level, playing in National Tournaments at various college levels and most of the one's playing at the next level do not have a problem with her and feel that her work ethic was what prepared them to succeed not only in basketball but hopefully in life as well. Just because everyone does not agree with everything a coach does, does not make them a bad coach. As a matter of fact, that is probably what separates the good coaches from the others. Good luck to Coach Crabtree in the future. Hopefully she will find a coaching job where her discipline is appreciated. As for me, I know of three of her former players who loved her at times, hated her at times, but in the end always respected her and are thankful for their preparation for the next level of basketball. Next year one will play for a private college, one will probably be playing for a Division 1 NCAA school and one for a junior college with plans to play for four years. So surely she can't be THAT BAD of a coach.
  2. Apparently the rumor is true. I don't know any of the details. I have known Coach Crabtree since she was in college. I wish her the best of luck. Now the big question is who will Franklin County hire?
  3. Did you forget that Lawrence Co. came from behind in the last minute or so in the game to beat Franklin Co. in the first meeting and beat them by 2 at the buzzer the second meeting. Franklin County has lost several close games. Will they win the district? No! But they are a better team than people want to give them credit for. Hopefully, they will keep playing team ball and surprise some people in the District Tourney.
  4. Coffe did win big the first game. BUT FC played only freshman and sophomores from 3 minutes into the third quarter and Coffee played their starters until 2 to 3 minutes left in the game. FCHS has worked hard all year. Congrats on a district win.
  5. Who won the Huntland/Richland game?
  6. It was a close game and LCHS is very lucky. This game should have gone into overtime. Not saying the outcome would have been different, just that the game should have gone to OT. Two lucky breaks for LCHS a 5 second violation, whistle blows, ref holds up his hand to signal 5 seconds. Another ref runs over a proclaims LCHS time out. End of game, balling rolling around the floor, LCHS girl finally gets ahold of the ball, whistle and buzzer go off. OT right? WRONG. Guess what, Time out LCHS. And let's put 1 second on the clock not .1. Anyway, it gets better. With 1 second LCHS in bounds the ball to a girl with her back to the basket, she turns and shots. ALL in 1 second . LCHS wins. Anyway, just think it should have gone into OT win or lose for the Rebelettes. By the way congrats to LCHS girl who made the shot at the buzzer. It was a nice pressure shot to tell her grandkids about some day.
  7. Just curious as to why Hawkins would be the unsung hero for Franklin Co. She is their leading scorer and probably plays more minutes than anyone else on the team. She is a great player though, just don't know about unsung hero.
  8. I'll take FC in this one. They should have won the last one if not for some major mental shutdown in the last minute of the ballgame. Plus FC's bench has ALOT more experience this time around. The game is also at FC this time. Rebelettes are struggling but playing hard and will always fight til the end. Good luck Rebelettes. Hopefully the seniors will each play up to their potential.
  9. Cost is one factor. At FC it is $5 to get in. Kindergarden and up. Family of four is $20 plus concessions. Students should at least get a discounted ticket, especially the elementary and middle school. You start building school support earlier than High School.
  10. The verdict is in Lincoln County wins 49 - 41. Lincoln County's first win against Shelbyville. Congrats to Lincoln County. Look forward to Franklin County/Lincoln County on Tuesday night.
  11. Columbia won by 13 but the game was closer than the score indicates. FC missed some key foul shots in the fourth quarter. They were only down by 3 at the start of the fourth. Johnson and Warf had probably there best game of the year. However, a loss is still as loss. FC improving and hopefully will continue to come together as a team as they work up to tournament time.
  12. I heard him tell a former Grundy player before the Franklin Co. game that this might be his last year.
  13. I sure everyone could hear the whistle blowing all of the fouls against the Rebellettes all night long. Shelbyville was in the double bonus most of the second quarter while FC didn't get to the double bonus until about a minute left in the half. The soph. everyone is referring to was in Nashville having her broken nose fixed. The wonderful Shelbyville point guard needs to be taught how to dribble without rolling her wrist over everytime, but the refs wouldn't know a walk if it walked into them. FC had a number of girls out last week and had not got to practice everyone together. One girl was only cleared to play the day before the game. And another thing why is it that Insell can rant and rave and he is "coaching" but if Crabtree raises her voice she is being "unpredictable" or too hard on the girls? I doubt FC will finish 6th. All of the loses have been by six points are less and they have several young girls that will only improve as the year goes along.
  14. Franklin Co. 58 Tullahoma 38
  15. Anyone have a final on the Huntland/Forrest game?
