  1. Nathan Armstrong from Cascade. 6'3 260 Jr. Guard and defensive end. My friends over their say he is the backbone of the team. Against WHH he had over 10 pancakes and several tackles. Is one of the best linemen I have ever seen in 1A football. You really need to check this person out.
  2. Well I wish I could be there but I will be working . Heck you should just feel sorry for me for what I am having to watch and buy my dinner anyway. Just joking around. Well have a safe trip and goodluck to both teams.
  3. Daily from Mount Plesant should get some votes. I havent' seen many backs but Cascade has a very good offensive linemen and DE #54, Armstrong I think??? My friends over there said he had around 10 or so pancakes against WH-H. I saw him against Moore County and Huntland and he looked impressive. If Cascade can win the region and go far in the playoffs, plus get some publicity they may get their very first Mr.Football lineman
  4. HA, good one. I am one of the few true Raider fans on this website, I am supposed to hate Huntland no matter what. I reallly could care less who wins I just wanted to see if you would respond to my post. Acutally Coach Rice was always nice to me when I played so I just wanted to say goodluck.
  5. I think Collinwood can pull the upset. I have watched both teams and really nobody in Region 6 1A has a player like #12. If Collinwood can contain #12 some and keep the ball out if his hands and run the clock they can win. Trojans 28 Tigers 27
  6. GO WILDCATS! Good luck to Coach Rice and his team this week.
  7. Well this year may not be the biggest rival game to date. The game will determine a region placement as well. If Moore County can't beat Huntland, I don't think they will win a game. Well here goes my prediction: Hornets 8 Raiders 7 This is based on scores for and against, I really didn't know how to pick a winner. Both teams have about the same type of players. Good luck to the Moore County players.
  8. The two teams that played last night faced stiff competition. I had a chance to see Giles and Friendship both play last year and they were both pretty good then. Friendship could possibly go far. Is Collinwood still with the wing-t? If so it may take them awhile to bounce around. That offense is based on timing, good fakes, and complete execution. It may take awhile for the trojans to get going. Good luck to all Region 6 teams.
  9. I went to that scrimmage. Cascades didn't look half bad, nor did the rest of the teams. Collinwood was running the wing-t . Gville had a pretty good QB. I though Cascade looked pretty strong. They might have a turnaround year, their Qb play looked good at times. Some plays were hard to see from my car. It rained steady for awhile. Gook luck to all three teams this year.
  10. I didn't know they scrimmaged. I have been very busy latley and haven't had much time to keep up with the baby blue. Giles was probably out of their league a little bit. I saw them play MP last season and was impressed. I will give Moore County credit for stepping up and playing the big boys though.
  11. Well, I am not sure. I wish them all the luck in the world. Norman the QB/RB is back for his final season. He is proabably one of the more talented players to ever come through Lynchburg. He needs the ball in his hands more often. Some key players are gone from the team. I think depending on what Huntland and Waynesboro have will impact the baby blue. My guess 5-5 or possibly 7-3.
  12. I am going with Mount Pleasnt winning it. Collinwood 2nd, 3rd and 4th a toss up. Question? What good did it really do if CA actually recruited?
  13. How did the scrimmage with DCA and Cascade turn out? I heard that the Champs moved the ball well. How did DCA look ? Can they go far in 2A? Just wondering I haven't heard much about it.
  14. Too bad they all didn't play on the same team. All those players were seperated by at least 5 or 6 years.
  15. Agreed about Mount P's coach and MC. I was always worried Coach Rice would get that job when I played. The one they have now is pretty good. The one thing that always seprated Mac from other coaches was how he prepaired each week and his intensity. Coach Mac did his best coaching when his "talent" level was down, I think he felt his back was against the wall. Moore County was picked to finish fourth that year( 96) in the region but went 10-0 and to the 3rd round of the playoffs. and lost by 1 point to a very talented Lake County team. It seemed we always had that one great back but He made every team key on that player then someone else would step up to carry the load. Basically just great coaching on Mac's behalf. Thre bad thing for Lynchburg is the tradition is gone and the players have nothing to build on anymore. Mac built something special that could have been built on to make the program even stronger. Enough on that though, here are my picks. 1. Mount Pleasant 2. Collinwood 3. Huntland CA or Moore County, or maybe Wayne Co.
  16. Moore County has just as many ball players "talent" as any team in Region 6 1A,except for Mount Pleasant. It's not the players fault for the decline in wins.
  17. I hear Cascade is big and improving this spring. I also heard that they scrimmage DCA this week sometime. Good luck to the Champs.
  18. Did Gville scrimmage Moore County last week? If so how did it come out.
  19. I would take as many players as I could get. A coach can change young peoples lives. Personally, I would got after every kid walking the hallway's at school wheter they ran a 4.0 flat forty or 6.8. There is strenthg in numbers. Most kids I have talked to seem to want to play only one way now. Football and kids are changing. You do not see many hard nosed ballplayers anymore. Coach Saterfeild probably had a harder time in 3A with player numbers than he did in 1A. Down here you can get away with samll numbers. The main thing I have learned from watching and studying football is you adapt your scheme to your players . Just sticking a formation with just any group doesn't work. The more players the more options. I have heard many coaches talking about how they liked what Trousadale did and are trying it. Thats fine but his scheme will not fit every program.
  20. First my post wasn't negative or meant to be, I can not help if someone doesn't know how to take what I am saying. Trash talking? No part of my post were that or intended to be. I was taking up for a friend. Better look at your threads before you bash mine.
  21. That was an odd game that night. FC had some chances to blow it open and they gave S.P. the same chance. I won't go into deatail but the last few mintues of the game weren't managed very well.
  22. Taking nothing away from the players who made ALL-State and region but how many of them made it when the Eagles had a losing record. The 7-4 mark and publicity helped. Those things only help in the selection. Would Reggie Bush have the Heisman if he played for Vandy?
  23. Cascade has as much talent as anybody. Soemtimes it doesn't all click together, but oneday soon it's going to happen for them. Good luck to the Champs. Yall have a very good man in Coach Parker. Does Cascade have more winning records and playoffs births than Eagleville? Not taking anything away from the palyers, but I didn't see any domination when Eaglevile played Lynchburg and Collinwood. The best player I did see was the quarterback who had a rifle for an arm. I will give them credit the had some athletes.
  24. I forgot about Friendship. I saw them and South Pitt play in the second round. Not impressed with South Pitt. Friendship's Coach seemded like he could match wits with T.C. coach. As long as Mount P. has #12 they will be decent.
