  1. Hmmm...I think this one will get away from Milan. They have done a great job managing their games to date, but I think JCM will win this one by 10+... Good luck to both teams!
  2. This should be a close game... Waverly's coaches must have finally figured out what was obvious when Camden played them, they CAN run the football! Riverside's defense is unbelievable! It is going to be strength on strength when the Tigers have the ball, so it may come down to Waverly's defense being able to stop them... ...and of course turn-overs, and the kicking game, and... Good luck to both teams, this should be an excellent game! I am going to say Waverly by 7... thumb
  3. Congrats to Weathers, the team, and the HHS coaches! Chester County would have liked to have thought that they could play with HHS this year. AFter Coach Mansfield braggin' on them last year, it was interesting to see what they could do! Man, that is unbelievable numbers in a Region game!
  4. Now kids, let's play nice in here... Bruceton is going to be smokin' hot after a big win over South Fulton. I really didn't think they could do it, it was a good win! Bruceton will be lookin' for just a little revenge after Camden going over there last year & bringing back a win! Coach Gilmer will have them ready to play & have some kind of magic ready to spring on the Lions...it will be a physical game that Camden could overlook. I think it will be closer than the records might offer, but I am thinking the Lions will win one at home.. GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  5. WOW SportsradioTN! I was sure thinking you were going to go with a Milan victory...Hmmmm... I do think it is going to be a good game, I say Milan 28, UC 14. We SHALL see!
  6. No Kiddin' on the "almost over the hump"! Last year, these 3 games were lost by 71 points! 2004 edition lost by only 15. True, it still counts as a "L", but I hope Coach Gaddis can keep this team focused on an obtainable goal that is within their grasp. It would be easy to focus on the "L" & not how far they have already come... Good luck Friday night Patriots! thumb
  7. G Cat 2, Don't sugar coat it, really, tell us how you feel?

    Bruceton @ USJ

Any USJ fans that can tell me how many rushing yards either Perry County or JNS had against them? Bruceton may have to do it on the ground... Should be a good game, I think closer than USJ would like, though!
  9. I would love to see HCHS pull this off! I think they can beat NW & Coach Gaddis & staff are pumped for a win! HCHS by 7+!
  10. Ekard, Kind of interesting though...last years 41-9 win only included one Josh Boyd TD. He did his damage, but Camden threw the ball all over the field, with TD catches for 14 points, plus a lot of yards geting down close... The 2004 Lions throw it better than last year, IMHO. Interesting approach, though... HC had a lot of turnovers that you might expect from a young team, you can't count on that happening again this year. GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  11. I would have to guess HHS by 14+...I think the speed of the 'Stangs will be more than Lexington can handle. It should be a great game, though!
  12. DG, I would love it, but based on the limited response of wtso.com, it would take a better response to make it go. Initially, they seemed to be focused on football, but they have added all high school sports and recently racing, but it still seems to be missing the "energy" needed from a big dose of HS football to make it go. Looking at the site, most of it is older dated pages...some new, but not much. Maybe yours would be better...?
  13. I think the Lions will roll in their home opener. May take a rocky first quarter to settle the "Home game jitters", but I think the coaching staff will have them ready to play Houston County. True, was a big win, but the Lions have a lot of "laurels to build" before they can rest on them... GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  14. Great job Camden Lions! A solid victory the Camden. CHS defense was flying to the ball & delivering big hits. I was impressed how Camden's defensive scheme caused McK to completely abandon their passing game for three offensive series. Great job coaches & defensive backs! Kicking game was superb! Only one was returned to the 25, one at the 8, the rest thru the endzone. McK is a good football team and is going to have a good year, but Camden had what it takes in this one. The Lions definetely have to work on hanging on to the football...seemed like we wanted to "keep it close"... I am looking forward to Camden enjoying this win (for about 12 more hours!), and then backing it with a solid season home opener against Houston County Friday night. GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  15. ...man, isn't it amazing that they don't even play in the rain anymore? We need some "shrink-proof" football teams/coaches/AD's! Really has changed....why I remember...

    WAVERLY?

BT54, It would be a great win for Waverly to beat Lewis County! IMHO: Seems like a lot of good things happen when they stay OUT of a passing set... Waverly played Camden tough & never quit. The touchdown late was a great drive by a team that really had lots of reasons to quit. With some better play selection, I think they could have a good year...
  17. Dyer County stadium in Newbern gets my vote for best stadium in West Tennessee! It is head & shoulders above anything else I have seen...fold down stadium seats, concessions similar to UT's, great lights, press box & sound system are great...really looks like a small college stadium to me. It's relatively new (5 years?) and is a great place to watch a game! thumb
  18. ...I'll say it again... Huntingdon IS the lead dawg, no doubt! Until someone proves otherwise on the field, it has to be! I think the biggest job has been the HHS coaches keeping this team's feet on the ground. They seem very focused & ready to go to work. Sure, any team can mess up on one night & let "Big Mo" roll over them, but the 'Stangs have to be the team to beat. Congrats to Coach Mansfield & his coaching staff & team!

    Camden Lions

V & T1, Check out the football roster at camdenlions.com. Follow the football link & click on roster... Hope that gets you what you need! GO LIONS!
  20. Huntingdon was impressive on the field & did not commit mistakes. The other games all had mistakes & penalties that you usually see in early season outings. They are ready for the season. Congrats to Coach Mansfield & his staff for getting them ready. Would be easy for HHS to "rest on their laurels" of the state championship, but I DON'T think that has happened... Still have to play 'em though...
  21. You da' man till someone else prove to be da' man! How can you down HHS until they prove it on the field? Hey kids, they didn't just win the championship, they went up there and slapped 'em for not delivering the Gold Ball to Carroll County! Gotta' say they own it until someone takes it away on the field, in my book... :justwrestle:
  22. BallHawk, I agree vit-chew! Right now, I would love to see a competitive game between HHS & CHS! (CHS won in 1992, 17-10...I think?) I know Coach Mansfield was very complementary of Chester County last year & I think the Eagles earned a lot of respect in the district (Region, now?) with that LOSS. The Lions need to strive for consistent performance. Still a lot of penalties v/s UC. CHS needs to get over the hump v/s HHS by not beating themselves. Our record for the last many years (12!) has shown that the cheer squad could put on the 'Stangs uniforms & we would start fumbling & throwing the ball to them... This is a special team, but I hope they can concentrate on Waverly, right now! Reading your reviews from pre-season scrimmages is a recipe for disaster... GO LIONS! thumb
  23. Good point, CB. It seems to be a mental thing for CHS. They really need to get the monkey off their back with a good solid game against HHS. No meaningful turnovers, intercepts, etc. CHS hasn't even given the 'Stangs a chance to beat them in the last few years, they are too busy beating themselves. This team needs to stay focused on Waverly & let the rest come along later. HHS is going to be loaded, but on any given night... thumb Go Lions! KC
  24. CHS had 5 TD's & 4 PAT's, (the last one by 2nd/3rd team ended it w/o a kick attempted) UC had two L O N G field goals. Great kicker! Hope they can stay focused on the Waverly game for now... Go Lions!
  25. Hey Milan fans, Does Milan HS have a web site for the football team, or sports in general? Post the URL, if it is available... Thanks!
