7059, the offense was centered around McNair for the last three years. McNair did fine with a non productive Kevin Dyson and a tightend, so I'm sure he will be fine with Mason, Bennett, Calico, Troupe, Kinney, and whoever else might step up.
I just got home from work and noticed that Quincy Carter got cut today for unspecified reasons. Carter is a solid QB and dallas has pleny of cap room so he had to do something pretty bad to get cut.
oakland, make that 4.3 speed. Calico is playing mind games with himself. It makes no sense how someone can consistently make acrobatic catches and consistently drop balls that hits him in his numbers.
Does anyone else dislike Keyshawn Johnson as much as me? I always see him in these interviews talking crap. His best season yardage wise (1266) he only had one TD reception. He talks back to the coach and acts like he's on Randy Moss' or Torry Holts level. I hope he has a repeate performance of last season and I cant wait until he's lined up across from Samari.
I think Robaire Smith is the biggest loss. Kearse was a terrible run stopper and was always hurt. Mcareins is a close second to Smith. But the Mcareins trade was pretty equal. I dont think Whycheck will be missed at all, neither will Eddie.
I also made it out saturday and Steve and Billy Volek looked pretty good. All of the backs were running very hard. I'm thinking we will see a good rise in production in the back field. Chris Brown looked super sharp back there with the first team offense. I have to work the rest of the week so I dont think I will make it back out until the scrimmage saturday.
I recorded this game last season and found the tape today and watched it again. It looks to be a pretty good rematch but both teams lost some key players so I dont know if it will be as good as last year, but either way it should be a good one. I know MBA lost 4 or 5 big time players and Trinity has a much deeper roster than MBA so I say Trinity by 10.
I agree that we have one of the best line backing corps in the NFL. I know last season we had no trouble stoping the run. The Titans ranked #1 in the NFL in rushing defense last season and #1 in overall defense in the playoffs. I think the Titans front 4 will be better at stopping the run also because we all know Jevon Kearse wasnt much of a run stopper. If the rookies on the front line can step it up I think the over all defense will be pretty darn good. This is the 3rd year that all 4 players in the secondary have played together. With a healthy Andre Woolfolk and a good rooke prospect in Rich Gardner this looks to be one of the best secondarys the Titans have had in a good while.
Its sad that Miami has to deal with this though. Immagine if Steve McNair all of a sudden retired (well atleast we have a back up who has showed he is capable). Going from Ricky Williams to Travis Minor is like going from a bently to a chevy. He should have let them know a month or so ago so they would have time to prepare for it. I do understand what Williams is saying though, hes probably been playing football since age 6 and thats all hes ever known. All I can say is good luck to both sides and I sure hope James goes to Miami.
I dont think we ever had a problem. Chris Brown will be the starter and will get the bulk of the carries. But if you look at the last 3 season Eddie averaged 3.2 yards per carry while Smith averaged 3.8. But I do believe that will be besides the point becasue I dont see him getting much more than 7 or 8 carries a game. You guys are forgetting how high the Titans were on Chris Brown last year during camp. Some people were saying he and Eddie were gonna split the carries last season until Brown got hurt. If Brown proves he can stay healty he will be the feature back. As soon as he breaks his first 40 yard run Titans fans will forget all about Eddie. We havent seen a 40 yard run in a long time. Does anyone remember how Brown did in the playoffs? I have to say Jeff Fisher is one of the best in the business and he obviously thought Eddie was expendable or he would have made sure we got him signed. I wouldnt argue too much with Jeff, he knows way more about the game the we ever will.
I'm very surprised. I thought this post was a joke at first, but knowing Ricky Williams I knew there was a good possibility that it was true. I'm glad Ricky retired though because it makes opening day in Miami look pretty good for the Titans.
