Yes, Shelbyville ran through the district last year with no problem, but I think Columbia is going to hang with them this year with all the talent they have this year. Ohhhh, Shelbyville is preseason #11 in the nation!

I agree with you about Micah, he is a true baller and will make some noise this year,but he doesn't have anyone around him to help out. he will get his,but its hard to win MVP from the bottom of the standings. That why i went with Twilley as my preseason MVP because he has a nice core of players around him and he can and will take control when he has to!

This year nobody is a clear favorite to win the district. I seen Columbia play in summer tournaments and I will say that Columbia has a chance to get back to their old winning ways coming off a down year under 1st year coach Graves. Returning a solid core who lost only key player Steve Gray, all-district preformers Zac Walker and Justin Bullock, along with Coty String should step up and have blowout years, and Alston Enyard has to step his game up from last year to give them a chance! Shelbyville will be in the hunt with point guard Dequan Twilly(MVP pick) leading the way. It should be a very interesting year in District 8AAA this year! Give me some feedback on this subject!

WHat do ya'll think about the district this year? Columbia is coming off a state tournament run as well as Shelbyville! Columbia lost only 1 person from last year team and she wasn't a main player, so columbia is should have one of their stongest team in a while. and you can never count out Shelbyville with the great coaching they have! they lost 2 all-american players in fuller and newman,but im pretty sure they have someone to fill their shoes. I am going out on a limb and picking Columbia as my early favorite to take home the district crown with returners Nancy Moore(UT-Chatt signee and my MVP pick) and De Bullock playing the leadership role for the lady lions! Give me some feedback on this and some sleepers who may come out of know where and your MVP pick!

Columbia has really showed me something this year! They don't have no where near the talent that they have had in the past years,but they have heart and everybody plays their role. I went last year! It wasnt nothing big. I hit the only homer of the tournament and there wasnt no big colleges there! Dont waste your money. Wait for a better one!

Lindsey is playing well this year too. he is hitting around .375. He is getting looked at but has no idea where he wants to go!

English is playing real well now. He is batting around .370 with a slipping tendon in his wrist and a broken bone in his hand. I thought he would have been a late round pick as well but it didnt happen. I think he has a good chance of getting drafted after next season if he keeps working on his game!

They are on fire now winning their ninth straight today against columbia state 10-4. English and Lindsey had good homecomings with 3 hits apiece today. They play again tomorrow at 12 and 2 at columbia state.

I talked to bobby last week and he is talking about going to Motlow and be with old teammate English if he does decided to go juco. I dont think he is going to let his girl make the choice for him!

Look everyone, I played with bobby last year and has seen him play this year. He is 1 of the best hitters in the state without a question! he has 8 homers already this year! He has amazing power, good speed, and a nice arm! Just give him credit and move on! I think he could get drafted but he needs to go to college and work on his game a little more before he goes to the next level!

Columbia has shock the state as they knocked off Bradley Central Sat. night! This has been a big turn around for the girls! Nancy, Deandrea, and Alex, with the help of there teammates, have came up big and took over when they had to! I proud of you girls and GOOD LUCK IN THE STATE!

Liveaqua, I dont no what you are to the team but yall are not getting it done at all! A lost to Tullahoma???? What in the world is that? In my last post, I wasnt comparing our team last year to the team this year bc I no they aint our level! I was saying that playing with us and seeing what it takes to make it the state, the have some understanding of the work we put in the be a good team. And I have seen 7 or 8 games now and there aint nothing you can say to make me think they run a motion offense! I was at the game last nite and the only thing I saw 4 out and 1 in. NO motion what so ever! Steve did not shot the ball no where near enough, but it hard to shot when you are on the bench most of the 4th per. during crunch time! Steve is the heart of the team and the way they are playing, if he dosent score 30, they wont win! Hope they make a run and win the district bc if not, SO LONG COACH GRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I played for Columbia last year and these boys are playing no where near the way they did last year, and the coaching is a big part of it. Thats a FACT! Our coaches had us ready for every game, scouting reports,watching game film and thats why we have been on the top the past 10-15 years. But as I watched the Sat., it made me sick to see Spring Hill beat them. They ran no plays, people just standing hoping when they shoot, steve get the rebound and score. Steve can't do much more than what he is doing. If the dang coach would put plays in for him and Zac, they would be better. They really need to look at this coach and wonder what is going if they don't turn it around! LET"S GO BOYS! HARDWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope my boyz are ready to start a new season and play ball like they know they should and run the district like we have done for about the past 10 years. Steve, Zac, and Alston are stepping up after the loss of tony and should lead Columbia to a better second half. Columbia by 8!
