True, Nickell is a great player with no doubt! Him to go along with English and Bratton makes them one of the best 1-2-3 punches in the state! I would have to give the MVP award edge to Courtney English. He has been the most consistant player out of the 3 this whole year. Coming out of basketball, you would think that he would be rusty but he came in on fire and still is! He batted .500 in the district this season and is batting .494 overall. Now tell those aint MVP stats. He lite a fire under Columbia and helped them get back to playing good baseball with his good leadership! Courtney is going to sign with Motlow State either Fri or next week!Good Luck Courtney at the next level!

Columbia vs Shelbyville starts the tourney at 1:00 Sat Then I believe it is; Lawreence Co vs. Tullahoma Then followed by; Franklin Co/Lincoln Co. vs Coffee Co. Columbia took game 1 13-3 in 5 innings. Courtney English hit a Homerun for the 3rd game stright as he keeps adding on to a story book season. Bobby Bratton hit a homer as did Grant Nickell,who ended the game with a walk-off Grand Slam to up his total to 13 on the season. They play again tomorrow and Columbia can move to the 4 spot with a win! Lawrence is going to be hard to beat at home but Columbia is really coming around at the most important time of the year! Watch Out District 8AAA! Its that time of the year again!

How do yall think this is going to turn out? A Columbia sweep will put them in the drivers seat with the 4th seed in the tourney and wont have to in the play in game! The way it is looking. it is going to be: 1)Coffee Co 2)Shelbyville 3)Tullahoma 4) and 5) If Columbia sweeps Lawrence Co they will be 4, if not Lawrence will 6)Franklin Co 7)Lincoln Co There still some big games coming up in the final week of play and a couple of teams might flip flop, but you know how District 8AAA is. Seeds dont matter a bite, it is who ever shows up ready to play!

Theses 2 teams played a 10 inning hard played game tonight. Lincoln Co was fired up and ready to play coming of the death of one of there players. There were a lot of good plays in this game. I think that Courtney English,Columbia's Centerfielder, is proving the point that he is one of the top fielding outfielders in the state! He made some heck of plays in the field as he did in the Brentwood Tourney. The Lincoln Co pitcher pitched all 10 innings to record the win. That was a good effort from him! Theses 2 teams go at it again tomorrow and it should be another good one!

Courtney English from Columbia Central is a outstanding leadoff batter. His can give you everything from power to laying down a bunt to just hitting a ground ball and beating it out. He has reached base every game he has played this season and has a .535 batting average. He also shows good leadership and gives 110 percent every game. He is someone to watch!

In game two, Columbia came away with the sweep of Coffee Co with a 4-1 win! Bobby Bratton pitched a heck of game and also added a homerun at the plate. This is the game of the predicted number 1 and the number 1 team in 8AAA right now! Coffee Co is very hot right now and is sitting 7-1 on top of the district. Columbia is coming along get a big win over Tullahoma Fri. Dont let Columbia's record fool you! With the bats and now pitching slowly coming around, once Columbia hits that switch and turn it on they are going to make some noise! This is going to be a very good,well played series! This is going to be a very good series in district 8AAA. Coffee Co. is having a very good season and are playing top notch baseball. Columbia has sruggled a little this year but are turning it around! With the pitching of Gray and Bratton back on point, and with English stroking like he has been doing, I am picking coming away with the sweep of Coffee. Dont get me wrong, Coffee is going to come out and play hard, but it is time for Columbia to make there statement and let everyone know that they are for real after there slow start!

The game will be played Friday at 4:30. They had to move it back one more day!

This game game was one of the best games of the year! There 2 of the top pitcher in the state going head to head. Zach Gary vs. Kenny Griffin was what it was suppose to be, a good pitching game. Zach pitched 6 strong innings giving up 1 run in getting the no decision. Kenny pitched a complete game 2 hitter with 14 strikeouts. He had a no hitter until a Courtney English single broke it up in the fifth. This was a very exciting ball game with Tullahoma coming out on top 2-1!

Columbia has 2 homerun hitters making some noices. Grant Nickell has 7 jacks and Bobby Bratton has 6.

Today Columbia beat one of Ohio's best teams 20-5 behind the pitching and bat of Bobby. He pitched the first 6 innings giving up no runs on 3 hit and he was also 4 for 5 at the plate! Wingman,I dont know who you think you are to get on here and try to down Columbia in then say Bobby is not having a good year, but you need to chill out. Columbia is getting better each game they play. They have everyone back and they are starting to make that bond that makes a good team. They have won 2 straight and will have a big test today playing one of the top teams in Ohio today at 3. Bobby is still holding it down batting well over .300 and has 4 or 5 homeruns, but I guess thats not good! Hard Work Lions!!!!!
