  1. My response was to the "could not" in quotes which was an obvious response to my previous post. As for taking it easy, trust me, that WAS taking it easy.
  2. Keep thinking that if it makes you feel better. 3-1/8-1/5-0
  3. Something to consider about Britcher is that he started out the season up top, then went to center mid when Bobrowski went down and anchored the defense after Ruoff was injured. He's as complete a player as there is.
  4. Perhaps "didn't beat" would be a better phrase than "couldn't beat". I imagine a match-up between Farragut and CBHS later in the season would have had a considerably different outcome. In the early season, Farragut was dealing with several key players out/hampered with injuries and mono. By tourney time, they were riding the crest of a futbol tidal wave.
  5. Let's examine the validity of your statement: Brentwood was 18-3-2 after playing a schedule that had a combined record of 200-169-31; they lost to BGA and OR. Farragut was 24-2 after playing a schedule that had a combined record of 274-139-22; they destroyed BGA 6-0 and destroyed OR 8-1 in the regional finals and 5-0 in the State finals. Run for their money? I don't think so. Come tourney time, Farragut was playing so well that there was no other team in the State that could have challenged them.
  6. zaphod, my friend, as I was not there I cannot comment equivocably. However, I do know that the rotation was not SOS. Wallie pulled and re-arranged more defensive starters than normal when the score was 4-1. As for mister Hill, a red card? I don't know. Because Bryan is so strong he gets some calls that are simply "little guy calls" and not "dirty play". Red card? I would have to question that...not his style. Was the game closer than the score? Hey, parents will be parents but I have heard "trusted" opinions from the other side that it was not all that close (though I do respect your observations). As for the Science Hill question, they got a fortunate goal early and packed the box the rest of the game. That's how they won. Had they played 10 times, Farragut would beaten them 9. Thems the breaks. Have fun at club State. We won't be there (and glad of it). Best of luck however.
  7. FHS 5-0. For the 4th year in a row, the top AAA team comes from Reg 2. They might as well start playing the AAA tourney in Knoxville to cut down on travel expenses.
  8. I don't argue with the inept and judging by your previous posts, I'd be a fool to take your opinion as being anywhere close to accurate. I'll stick with the more reliable assessments. You "heard" from yourself????? That's pretty weird.
  9. Sorry pal, but I have multiple eyewitness reports from game attendees who are considerably more mature and objective than you. I also have considerable knowledge of how FHS plays and they are not a "dirty" team; physical maybe, but not dirty. And by claiming that they did play dirty and take "cheap shots" but apparently didn't get called, you ARE complaining about the officiating whether you come right out and say it or not. You had a good season; got beaten by a superior team; give it a rest.
  10. Let's see....as I understand it FHS was up 4-1 and cruising when the coach took out Bryan Hill, moved defenders around and played some subs for the experience; McMinn scores two quick goals, Hill and the defense return, McMinn is shut down and FHS scores three goals in less than 10 minutes. Sounds like it could easily have been equivalent to last year's game. Ever notice how losers complain about "dirty" play and poor officiating? Why is that?
  11. I don't believe that's accurate. Football is king in TN, always has been, always will be. Most schools play on their schools' football fields and football coaches don't want soccer players tearing up their fields. Since football is the only real revenue producer for high school athletics, they get what they want and they don't want interference. Besides, I don't know where you live, but most of the better soccer programs around East TN don't have that many players playing soccer.
  12. Actually, the Bearden coach gave him that moniker. He was a thorn in their side last season and even kicked a last-second FG against them to beat them in football this year.
  13. Nah, you're kidding! I'm quite familiar with the geography of Tennessee. Try this, calculate the distance from Memphis to Chattanooga, then do the same for Tri-Cities to Memphis. I believe you will discover that the distance from the NW corner of the State to the SW corner is significantly farther than from anywhere in the State to Chattanooga.
  14. Doyle played for the 85 Knoxville Select. Outstanding body control, foot skills, and excellent speed; very dangerous from anywhere on the field. Perhaps the most talented player to ever come through Farragut. JMHO.
  15. zaphod, zaphod, zaphod.....you have finally gone over to the dark side. Wasn't it the Bearden boyz that started to "fruitcake" crap last year? Where are the now? The Bearden Killer took care of business with them and he may just become the McMinn Mauler before this tourney is over. Have a safe trip to Memphis and back home Wednesday night. Smoke a stogie for me. Peace.
  16. Blair/Beene and Company take their first step toward another rematch with Farragut.
  17. No, but it was more convenient for the State as a whole. Memphis to Chattanooga does not compare to the Tri-Cities to Memphis. It's in Memphis because of money, no other reason.
  18. Apparently, you're unfamiliar with Aaron Doyle.
  19. OK, let's put this one to bed; THERE WAS NO LUCKY BOUNCE! The OR keeper flat misjudged the ball. He made a move on the ball, saw Doyle bearing down on him, and hesitated. The OR coach called it a bad bounce to save face for his keeper....period.
  20. So much for your abilities at prognostication, Chump. Jealousy is sad attribute, reserved for the incompetent. FHS-8, OR-1. The reigning State champs are looking strong.
  21. chump, first of all, my son does not play for Farragut. Second of all, though I may have some bias views regarding Farragut soccer, I am more than capable of forming and expressing highly objective views of observable events. Anytime you wish to question or debate any opinion I may express.....pack a lunch. I believe I can more than hold my own with you.
  22. caksoccer, you're welcome to disagree; that's what opinions are for. One thing I do know from many years of both competing and watching competitions is that "objective" observers usually have a better sense of the ebbs and flows of a game than the competitors do. The competitors are too locked into their piece of the puzzle to see the overall picture. I thought CAK showed a great deal of skill, teamwork and heart throughout the game. But the view from the top was that Farragut controlled what happened in the game to a considerably greater extent than did CAK, especially in the second half. True, CAK had some chances but those chances were few in number and of very short duration. Farragut possessed the ball and were in attack mode more in the first half and considerably more in the second. I think Farragut was their own worst enemy when it came to finishing. How often do you think Britcher is going to miss a wide open look, much less two in one game? Same for Rhodes. "Lucked out"? Those are your words, not mine. Closest game of the season? I think some teams including CBHS and Science Hill may disagree with you. It was a good game but you know as well as I that the score does not always indicate the way the play of the game went. Good luck to CAK, I hope you bring another trophy home this season.
  23. zaphod, my friend, I cannot disagree and I sometimes question what some consider a shot myself. I for one consider the following to be a shot; anything "on-frame"; anything the keeper has to catch or deflect to prevent a possible goal; a ball, intentionally directed toard the goal that sails high or wide within "reasonable" proximity of the goal. Tonight, Farragut had many, many legitimate "shots". The reality is that this Farragut team is very talented but does not finish well, period. Too many shots directly at the keeper, too many high testosterone shots that fly high or wide.
