Don't give up on the canes yet people. East will only get better as the year goes along. These first three games are important but the last 6 games are very important in East attaining its goal of making the playoffs. This is a rebuilding year for East as far as skill positions.

THe offense will improve this week but I think it is still not enough to get by a Powell team that is absolutly enormous up front. East will play better but must play a perfect game to get by Powell. Powell 17 East 7

If you want to know what the problem is on offense look no futher than the graduation of 1600 yard rusher, 1600 yard passer and a 6'6 receiver. That is the problem with the offense so all of the posts about the coaching is crazy. East has an inexperienced QB and absolutly no RB that is very good. The biggest disappointment from friday was the OL. This is a veteran group who must play better in order for East to win. Look for a better performance on Friday night from both sides of the football.

East got some bad news this week with 4 starters not being able to play this week against Campbell Co. East will need some kids to step up and play well in order to survive Campbell Co. All the kids that are out for East have been injured during fall camp. Missing from the lineup is going to be 2 starting LB, 1 OT, and 1 RB. This game will have to be won by the defense of East and special teams. East will win a close game with Campbell Co. giving them everything they want and more.

This game will be very close with East winning in the 4th quarter. Campbell Co. will be a more run oriented team this year with the graduation of their qb. East has alot of injuries right now and need some players to step up and make plays in order to win. I think the game will come down to special teams and the turnovers in the game. Good luck Canes!

In my opinion I think the Huber kid is overrated and he did not impress me Friday night. I think the kid has great size but his ability to play in the SEC is very unlikely. He does make a difference for Powell but I have seen better LB over my years of watching high school football.

Blake will be back in 2 weeks with only a partically tore MCL and a strained ACL. I would think that the coaching staff would keep him out until the Cocke Co. game week 4

I think East had an average scrimmage against Jeff Co. I think the scrimmage was dominated early by East but Jeff Co. came out late and started moving the ball down the field but the bottom line is they did not score in the scrimmage against the first group. East's defense seemed to play well and fly to the football but the offense did not have a good day. East had 2 fumbles inside the 20 and had a TD called back for a false start by a WR. Overally I think East has a long way to go before August 27. I think that was the worst Jeff CO. team I have seen in the last 10 years. What happened to all the hugh linemen that used to stroll out of the locker room and Jeff Co. was not as physical as they have been in the past. Good luck to the Patriots this season.

East has about 45 kids out for football but numbers are also a problem at East with many kids not playing football. With 1400 kids you would think more than 45 would be out playing football

What time is the scrimmage going to start?

East will not be as good as last year for the simple fact that they lost about 3500 yards of their offense when Francisco and Palazzola graduated so the offense will limited early. I still believe that East has the potential to make the playoffs again this year. I feel that the defense has to play well especially early for the canes to get off to a good start. I think the scrimmage with Jeff Co. will be a good measuring stick for East and what is expected this year. What type of offense and defense is Jeff Co. running this year with a new head coach. Is Coach Hastings still the def. co.

What makes you think that Morristown East is a win. Last year their defense held you guys to 120 yards of total offense that is including -16yds rushing. East returns 8 starters from that defense that totally dominated that game and I see them doing the same thing this year. East is going to surprise some teams later on in the season so if you are going to beat East the best time to do that is early in the year.

Heard today that East has three scrimmages set up for this fall. Aug. 6th East will have its traditional scrimmage with Rutledge at East. August 10th East will travel to Jeff County for a scrimmage and on August 17th East will host Science Hill in a scrimmage. East will also participate in the IMAC Jamboree on August the 13th at Burke Toney Stadium. Good luck Canes

Went by and saw that East had about 40 players running after workouts. I also saw them running with sleds, and doing sit-ups with medicine balls. Is this a new program that was set up by one of the coaches and if it was set up what will be the benefit of the new running program?

Traditonally Jeff Co. has played in their place and I would not see any reason for a change this year.

IMAC jamboree will be august 13th at Burke-Toney Stadium in Morristown. The same team who have always participated should be there. I think the start time is 6:00

I think the defense returns about 8 starters but some of those starters are going to be shuffled around to put the best 11 on the field. Seals will have his defense ready to play every week. Besides two games last year the defense was pretty good. I hope the defense can build on last year and put up better numbers and help East stay on track for rebuilding. I agree with you Big Daddy that it is hard to win a confernece championship with only 35-40 players because most of your kids are going to play both ways and when the 4th quarter rolls around your kids are gassed and the other team still has a half a tank. I think if east will get its number up just to about 50-55 then they could compete for a conference championship. Numbers do make a differnce in how you play late in a ballgame

WHere do you guys think East will end up in the conference this year. I think that Greeneville is the team to beat followed by West after that it is wide open with all the other teams except Davy Crockett. If east is going to get to the playoffs what are some of the things that they must improve on.

Big Daddy I agree 100% about jones. He does not realize how good he could be but if you have no work ethic then your athletic ability is not worth a hill of beans. Prittchet will be a big loss to east and the offensive line. Kids today just do not know what it takes to go from a average player to a good player and a good player to a great player. Kids are told about how stupid the coach is and how good they are and how they have the ability to go play at any major college in America. Good luck to both athletes

I believe that you must run press coverage and make the qb make a perfect throw on the fade route.

Just heard that East has lost two kids that have moved and transferred to other schools. Brandon Prittchet who was the starting center last year and was going to be a junior this year. He had really improved as the year went. The other kid is Mike Jones, who will be transferring to Cherokee. Jones will not be that big of a loss by what I saw last year. Prittchet will be a big loss because East now has to replace 2 offensive linemen to a group that looked to be in good shape.

Get real BIG35, East will never be in the hunt for a state championship. East lacks quality talent that other teams have. I have seen alot of East games over the last 10 years and only 2 division 1 players have come through East. That is Billy Seals and Cecil Moore and even with those kind of athletes East was still a middle of the pack football team. So until East gets some athlets that can run then a state championship is only in your dreams. As for Powell you better buckle up and be ready to play that are going to be very good and they are going to be out for revenge from last year.

Why does everyone bank their whole season on a rivarly game. I would much rather win as many games as possible and then worry about West. West will still be very good and East will be improved but I feel that West still has the upper hand. East needs to just get ready and concentrate on Campbell Co. on August 27.

To my knowledge the Rutledge and Science Hill scrimmage will be at East and the Jefferson County scrimmage will be at jeff co.
