  1. My bad thats was meant for "rockinchair" post. Didn't appreciate his remarks about being immature. Then I looked and saw he has les than 40 posts....so I should consider the source. I did read your post all the way through and I appreciate your comments. Like I said LA has nothing to ashamed of. You certainly have more Gold and Silver hardware than we do. I just hope we finally got over the hump and can repeat next year since we are returing all starters except 1.
  2. Me too its been fun, but I will have to say a more exspensive weekend!!!! Got to go home and work harder now!
  3. I've been showing my face on here for the last several years. As I remember the shoe has been on the other foot for 9 years we've been coming here and to hear all the trash talk you guys do from 7AA about we don't play anyone, can't handle the pressure ect.....I'm just quoting the facts man. Granted we only have one Gold Ball and LA has 4. Thats fantastic and I commend your school. THis year the shoe just happens to be on the other foot. I congratualte LA on their season. Gibson County was the best team that played in this tournamnet this year and it was their time finally. I can assure you I will continue to support our Gibson County teams like I have for over 20 years. Sounds like you got a little tast of sour grapes. How do you explain 17-0 run in the 4th QTR.
  4. How does 35-0 sound......sounds pretty good to me! Way to go GIbson County. You showed you were the strongest team in the entire tournament.
  5. Gibson County had just as long of journey to the finals as LA did. This was the year for Gibson County. Clearly the best team in the tournament. You dont beat quality teams by 20 + points at this level unless your on a mission and focused. I posted several weeks ago that they still has the bad taste in thier mouth from last years outing. This team is the most focused team I've seen in my 20 plus years following Gibson County basketball. Congratualtions to both teams. Gibson County's defense and pressure just too much for LA to handle. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  6. Did you happen to stick around for the fourth QTR....I think 17-0 run..looked alot like the UConn Huskies. Team basketball is what win games and our defense was too much for Livingston to handle. Look liked they broke under the pressure. We face pressure like that in 13AA all the time. They wear you down and never give up, thats why we won all our games by at least 20 every night they took the Floor in the GLass House. Way to go Gibson County! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. I like the attitude and intensity we are playing with. I told you the taste from last year is still not gone on how they excited the state tourney from last year. Go Gibson County
  8. Like most on here I have not heard much about Bolivar Central. Even though we had a common opponent in Haywood. One thing I know for a fact is Gibson County will be ready. This team is unlike any team I have seen us take to the Boro, in that they don't panic. Last night sectional was an example. Probably the worst first QTR they played all tournament and still beat Booker T by over 30. They never give up and believe in what the coaches have taught them. I know they remember last years outing and that taste is still there believe me. All they have to do is play their game. I'm picking Gibson County in this one. I'll worry about the next one Thursday. Go Gibson County! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  9. This was another 13AA classic. Gibson County has too much depth this year. You can shut down one player, but they have at least 3 others that can you can count on, and none of them are selfish players. OC played great, and I was especially impressed with how aggressive they were on defense. Fussell is fun to watch. I think it will come down to OC and Gibson County for the finals in 13AA. You could see the confidence Gibson County had when they took the floor. Even when the game got close, they kept up with the game plan and never got frustrated. Good job lady pioneers! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  10. GC your right. I'm kind of sick of hearing we don't play anyone. Just look at who we faced in the off season. And For years 13AA has been the toughest district in West Tennessee bar NONE!!! There have been years when at least 4 teams in our district could win the championship, and guess what all teams in 13AA have to play each other twice a year and sometimes more counting tournaments. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I think our girls can play with anyone and compete. It all boils down to how well we play. As a matter of fact how well each team plays. That's why I stick with my motto. "That's why they play the game". Anything can happen. If we stay healthy, we WILL advance deep in the tournament. I'll make that prediction right now. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> This years team is fun to watch. And were young to top it off!! I have been following Gibson Co. for many years and I'm very excited about the prospects for the next 2-3 years.
  11. I do have one question??? What was with all the student body dressed as indians.? Did I miss something?
  12. It was a great game. OC coming and plying like they did not really surprise me. They wanted to make a statement and they did. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Fussell will have a very good chance at being the MVP for 13AA along with some others. I was really impressed with the OC crowd towards Reedy. I saw many of them clapping and supporting her while she was playing. That's class. The student body was great too. I fully expected them to boo her off the court, but they didn't. In the end Gibson County is just too deep, and made free throws when it counted. The next match-up should be interesting. Congratulations to Gibson Co. You need to be tested and you were last night. Great job OC , you have nothing to be ashamed of. Ain't 13AA basketball fun to watch! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  13. Gibson County played very well tonight. If we can keep Courtney Haynes shooting like that, along with the other athletes around her, we will be tough to beat. I have seen Courtney play since 1st grade in pal league and Medina. she has talent. Evidence showed tonight this freshman class will be known as one of the best to come through Gibson Co. in a long time! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  14. Well I can't wait till Tuesday as Gibson Co. travels to Henry Co. THis should be a good seaosn once again in 13AA. Can't wait!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. Not exactly the result I was expecting. MC just shot the light out and Gibson Co. seemed a little nervous in the beginning. They never could get a run going. The fouls on Pate were bad...but we were outplayed today. The funny thing is I bet MC doesnt shoot 65% from the floor on a consistant basis...they just did today. Conagratualtions to them. MC. Also, congratulations to Gibson Co. Dont pay any attention to the fools on here saying overrated. Your not overrated when you have the #1 rated strength of schedule in all of AA. Most of these chumps have no clue about the game of basketball. They only like to put immature high school trash on here on something they have no idea of what their talking about. Its an accomplishment to be on of the best 8 teams in the state in AA. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  16. Well Gibson Co. for sure is in the tougher bracket and don't know much about Marshall County. I'm sure they're good. When you look at strength of schedule and rankings Gibson Co. should win. Were tested for sure. I did notice early in the year OC killed them, but there has been a lot of basketball played since then. Anyway, it will be difficult at this stage for anyone. I can only hope Gibson Co. plays up to their potential and we'll see how the chips fall. Go Gibson Co. Looks like it very well could be a 13AA championship match up. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. I agree. She is the best PG. She also can light it up from outside if she's on. I like her attitude and coupled with the best coaches in the state...she will only get better.
  18. I agree 100% he is a great announcer and does a great job. I'm just passing on the info he told me from his own mouth. I was just curious the night I called him and asked about the Gibson Co. and Peabody football game why they were not there. At the time I did not know they had moved their operations to Jackson. My point to him was if they were now a Jackson station, why broadcast a replay of a blow out game (Milan vs USJ) instead of covering a quality 7AA football game, live? Also, Trinity was playing a home game in Jackson that night as well. He did not really have an answer for that other than they are a Jackson station and he has to do what his boss tells him. I understand, becuase I have a boss too. Never questioned his ability, only wanted an answer. I appreciate any radio station covering 13AA basketball or 7AA football. It just seems curious to me they cover most all Milan sporting events to be a Jackson based radio station?? Lets go Gibson Co. Did you enjoy that game as much as I did? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  19. Thanks for the info on Gray. As far as the other comments, I'm not sure I follow your point? In 13AA if you have followed it for long, gaurd play is important and the teams she plays agaisnt are the same teams Gray plays against???? Often times double teamed too. But to answer your question could she still get it done? I think the record speaks for itself, she's done it all season! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  20. tvols75...I agree with your assesment. She is a true leader as a sophmore. I have witnessed Poston taking plays off. She clearly has the most athletic ability in 13AA for sure. To watch her shoot that turnaround or dribble jump shot you can tell she has talent. I do know Unions coach was there last night and he had to have liked what he saw from both teams. Has Gray committed anywhere?
  21. Well let me give you a little insight on Mr. Robin. He is a Milan suporter. Told me himself when I spoke to him back during football season and was wondering why they did'nt broadcast the Gibson County vs Peabody football game. Instead they elected to replay the USJ and Miln game which was played on Thurdsay. He preceeded to tell "were bullgodgs man". Then he reverted back a little becasue they are now a Jackson station he told me and tried to cover up. Then I reminded him that same friday night not only did they miss a great football game @ Peabody, Trinity was playing @ home that weekend...in Jackson???? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Anyway he made it quite obvoius to me while I spoke to him on the phone that he was a bulldog fan. Which is fine, but I wonder how many advertisers advertised with his radio station from Gibson County and surrounding counties not just miln that pay his salary. Anyway, he is a good announcer but you have to understand his allegiance is to milan (as he explained to me on the phone) when it comes to sports, but he has to to what the station tells him so thats not his fault. So I don't expect anything else from him. I did not listen to the broadcast so I cant say one way or another if he was blaming the loss on the officials. If he was, and if he is reading this, he might wan't to consider not many teams come back from a 19 point deficit soley based on bad officiating. He knows better than that. He should congratulate both teams and congratulate Gibson Co. for thier tremendous effort....you know we are talking about high school girls here. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Milan and Gibson County should advance to compete for a state title.
  22. Thanks. just trying to get the older folks involved. I thought I was going to need some O2!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. I know this was not intended for me, but thanks for your reasoning . I have wathced a lot of basketball in my years and your right, refs don't sway a 19 point comeback. And as far as the teams from Memphis. Neither Milan or Gibson County should have any problems advancing to the 'boro. And contrary to that one poster who hopes Gibson County gets beat....what can I say. Classless. I hope they both do, because they both deserve it. Two of the best teams in the state need to advance. Cudo's to you. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  24. Its funny, I'm sure if our students were out of line don't you think the police would have been there to check them back. I guess they were told to only pick on the miln student body...I see. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It was an embarrasement how the student body and some players acted during the playing of the national anthem....I saw it all. And thats good sportsmanship to wish on girls who play the game they love. Show some maturity if you have any. Thats the most classless remark I have seen on coacht and I've been a member for a while. You guys need to learn how to loose with class. If any of the Gibson County girls read this post...keep your heads up. You play with class and it will Always win in the end. I'm proud of our students and our team. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
