you make a great point about the defense scoring. It might come down to which team is able to create points from their defense and/or special teams. We still have a healthty Don Cope who will return punts and likely kickoffs with garner out. He is a great WR and a shut down one-on-one defender.

I think that WB will use Ownes (a 9th grader) most of the time. He should be ready to go, he has had over two weeks to work with the offense and played in the jamboree. Coach "w" is Wilhite.

wow ... 28 -27 that is a whole lot of offense from two teams that are going to stuggle offensively. I will be very, very supprised if WB scores 27 points I will be even more suprised if SC scores 28. Blount's defense, I believe, is going to be very tough this year.

Garner did not hurt his arm during the jamboree, he did it before the jamboree. But, it is sad when a player does get hurt in a game that does not even matter. Fun atmosphere tonight - There is no better place to watch a football than at Heritage, scenery wise it is beautiful.

I was talking to one of the coaches earlier this week and he told me that Garner was there man till wither Witt or Burton can play. Seems like Garner has played QB before, am I correct? I think that he will be OK. I look for the QB scramble to be a highly sued play, it will be very tough to contain Garner if he flushed out of the pocket.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really agree with much of anything ballfan is saying, but I do not think you can use a jamboree score as a measuring stick for anything.

I love William Blount High School. I love the students of William Blount, the football team, basketball team, chess team, you name it and I have huge support for them. But, I must say Maryville is good, make that great, at football. I think that when they move up next year everyone that does not beleive that they can play with "the big boys" is in for a rude awaking.

I am not stating that Cole is the overall best football player, I do not know if you can even make that kind of claim for any one person. But, in his defense and johnandjimmy's defense, he does line at fb/tb in many situations.

Lets do that lets "express an opinion about the way they act or handle their players on the court". You said he should have "put here butt on the bench", I was at the game and he did just that. Seems to me that you and coach Fowler have the same idea about how to handle girls that have "attitude".

A stat that jumped out at me WB's sacks - 33, Opponents sacks - 4. Is this correct? If so, that is amazing ratio, and both lines should be congratulated.

Papa good to hear from you again. I do not think that you can link bigger and stronger or even talent at any given position to athletic ability.

I can not say anything about Halliday (I have never seen him play), but Burstrom is a phenomenal athlete. It is hard for me to believe that there are very many people at this level that are more athletic than Burstrom. Halliday might very well be a better quarterback, but to say he is more of an athlete is hard for me to believe.

After talking to a few players last night they all said that Williamson will start till football season is over and Cochran will then take over the point Guard, Cochran ran the point last year towards the end of the season. Both Spurling and Messer will start this year.

The only players they will be without is Brad Cochran and Tyler Burstrom. I am sure that they will miss Brad at the point till he gets back.
