  1. I talked to quite a few WB students that said they were making the trip. I know they like to talk a big game when they are playing each other, but when it come right down to it most of the kids have known and grown up together their entire lives. I love to see the support between the schools.
  2. I have not been Shields in a few years, didn't get to go last time we went over there. I think last time I was there was the year that the Burstrom kid was carried off. I will pull for WB with everything I have inside of me, but I just don't have a lot of faith. WB has some very good athletes if we are able to get them the ball - Cunningham, Saunders, Cook, and Bloom are all terrific athletes. I agree with a previous poster, I wish Fuller could play in this game against his old teammates and coaches. I could be wrong, but I don't think it will be a run away as a few have posted. Some of you that are closer to the Maryville program tell me about some of the players and their futures: Robinette - NC? Guillermo (sp?) - Clemson West - Do y'all think he will pursue baseball Niethammer - big kid, any looks? Yoakum - too small for college ball? He's an incredible athlete - hard hitter Johns - ? Curtis - ? Murrin still hurt?
  3. Incredible article. Worth the read. http://www.blounttoday.com/news/2011/oct/12/wins-losses-tears/

  5. Good game. WB should have been up 28 - 0 at the half (but, we all know should've, could've, and would've will not get you anywhere). A few observations from the game: 1. Greg had a good game running the ball, he was running hard something I have been looking for him to do all season. 2. In the second half catholic started running the ball up the middle and was getting 7- 10 yards every play it seemed. I think it was Bearden that did the same thing to us. 3. Lane Bloom and Daniel Blevins seemed like they were getting their name called over the PA every defensive play. 4. Looked like Wilhite's secondary was a little weak at times giving to big of a space for receivers. Cunningham and Green both had good games. 5. Hunter Saunders (Sanders) had a good game, has the tendency to throw the ball too hard at times. Was very impressive on his feet. 6. The officiating crew came under heavy scrutiny from both sides during the game.
  6. Knowing the most of the Maryville coaching staff, I seriously, seriously doubt they had anything to do with this. Quarrels did what he had to do with the situation. This young man was getting a second chance, the Maryville coaches I know (which is most) would be very proud that he was getting this chance. It seems to me that if there was any question about the eligibility of this player the WB coach should have made sure without a shadow of doubt the this player was in good standing with his eligibility.
  7. Yeah, I agree, but I don't know or understand most of the rules that involve eligibility. In the few games that I watched him play it seems as though he was quickly becoming one of the better players on the defensive side of the ball. Losing this win for WB is going to make it very tough for them to be able to reach the playoffs.

  9. Nice post, real classy. I am sure the Heritage faithful are very proud of you.
  10. WB will have a hard time scoring IMO.... The last time these two team played WB had a hard time scoring, maybe this game will be a little better for the Govs (I still have a bitter taste in mouth from that game). I asked last week on the Karns thread, but did not really get an answer - Why is Zack not punting for WB, is he hurt?
  11. Is there a list of rosters?
  12. Excellent Post!!! I wanted to say something about that post but didn't think it was my place.... As I stated earlier... Coach Reeves is a good coach and a good man... The players played hard and never quit... That shows the character of both the players and staff.... tpoole12 PS: I like you much better BigTuna now that you've switched to de-caf............ Good Luck Karns I agree, I have nothing but respect for coach Reeves. He taught me the ins and outs of American Government while he was at WB. Everyone that was on the team while Reeves was here spoke very highly of him as a coach. As for Karns and last night, I thought they executed their offense to perfection. I am not real sure why they ever ran the ball - we could not stop the pass. I think that the Karns QB is outstanding, he made some wonderful passes. Good luck to the Beavers for the remainder of the season. Any word on the player that got hurt? Does anyone know the schedule for replaying the game on BCS-TV? I would love to watch it again.
  13. It's like Rocky Top - never get tired of hearing it.
  14. Papa Chaos - long time, no see. Zach Witt is the starting quarterback for William Blount he is a Junior, he hurt his foot early in the season last year which kept him out of a lot of games. Zach Owens (the sophomore you're talking about) is probably a third string, he does not fit the offense that Coach gregory has implemented at WB. Josh Burton would likely be a second option if Witt is unable to play.
