  1. For the past couple of years, "trouble in NW" has been a nice dinner conversation when we seem to lose a game or two. I assure you that there is no trouble in the Dungeon. With all the talent on that team (NW), it can be expected that they go far this year. I've been on that team myself, and when i left last year, i was sure that things were gonna go fine for them. They will be alright. If the coaching is really as bad as you all say it is, then it is simply time for the leaders to take charge of this team. Personally, i didnt think it was all that bad, but when things got rough, the team leaders stepped it up and took control. It got my team into the second round playoffs last year, and it can take them farther this year. Yall can do it Vikings, just play. Forget all the hype, the press, the colleges, everything. JUST PLAY!!!
  2. I think that Kevin Townley and Quinton Partee are two of the most underrated seniors in the state. They are really good ball players and leaders on and off the court. However, they come from a school where the local press doesnt shine the light on them or the school as often as it does other schools. In spite of all that, they keep on playing hard.
  3. Goodness, no need to get hostile over Kevin, now. Whether or not you think he is good, Alex, he is taking care of business when it needs to get done. Although I do see where you can come up and get a little steamed because Crossup accused you of hatin on him, you can't deny that he is doing his job, whether or not it involves scoring 21 points a night. Now, if you want to ask why are we losing so much if he is doing his job, then I will tell you now it is because the whole team isnt playin together like we know we can. Case and point; #22 for CHS came down and hit two 3's in a row because we didn't know who had who on D. It is just one of those problems that working hard in practice can help get rid of.
  4. Just to set this bird to rest, there are no, listen up here, no major colleges looking at anyone from the team for basketball. There it is, straight from a starter's mouth. Now, I will say that D1 colleges are looking at players from this school for football, with myself being one of them. But that is a whole different ball park, and this forum is to be about basketball. As for tonight, let the world know that we lost by 21 to Mt. Juliet. Bad shooting and poor hustle on our part cost us this game, even when we led 26-29 at the half. Mt.Juliet is a good team, and they proved that tonight. But hey, they are only playing a team that is now, based on our record, expected by many to not make the top 3 in their own district. But that's alright. This place is made for people to speak their minds. Do what you want, think how you want, but as for myself and my teammates, we are going to take this season one game at a time and let our games do the talking for us, with or without the least bit of confidence and support from our fellow peers. I am not trying to start up that whole can of worms about Northwest not getting enough props. We are getting our fair share of respect, and not complaining about it. Hear what you want from anybody about how they feel about this, but just to let you all know that this is how the team feels. Not the coaches, not the fans, but straight from the source; the team.
  5. Before anything gets said about football in Clarksville, I just want to say that this was a season to remember. After a LONG streak of disappointing seasons, we have put together a team that was for real, and our actions proved it on the field. Granted that things got heated about us on this forum, we still stuck it out and played football like we know how; smashmouth. It was an honor playing at WR and TE for this team, espically when I know that this team will come back next year to shock a few more critics than we did this year. There is some real talent on this team returning next year that is undeniable. This year was a great one for NWHS, but next year should be even better. Good luck to the Vikings next year and be sure to look me up in the college scene!!
  6. I am personally looking forward to playing you all again. We need this one as bad as you do. This should make for a REALLY good game. I bet that this should make for a intense rivalry in the future.

    Northwest

Since it seems that we have folks here that have become anal-rententive about my last post, there. Its changed. Seems a little sad to think that geography is more important in the interpretation of a thread than trying to figure out the real message. Anyhoo, whats done is done. If anybody wants to beat this "metro" dead horse any longer, be my guest. Its time to worry about Springfield first, then postseason.

As far as I know, alzado, we have beaten one "metro" team, Maplewood. Our record may be abysmal vs. those teams, but we have come out with a few good victories and bucket-loads of respect for the type of physical play we execute. We have even had times where hardly anybody believed we could win and we further got that W in spite of their lack of confidence in us. Case and point: YOU were one of the many, many people who thought that WH would either beat us or drill us, right?? And look what happened. We are not as bad of a team as everybedy in this board seems to think. Clarksville, TN can play a little football even with 6 high schools in a city that is barely half the size of metro-nashville. Furthermore, to say that we taunt and run our mouth as a whole is simply, well, ludicrous. Is it Coachchris that you think runs his mouth?? Or is it eaglefan?? crossup?? me?? Let a Viking know. I will admit, we do have people that can go the distance and a little more with the trash talk and comments, but to let a handful of people give your whole outlook on a school full of people you barely know anything about, with me being a prime example, shows you can get REAL judgemental at times. Not all the time, just some of it. Heck, we went through a little conflict at times and still havent had anything bad to say about it. Just forget it and move on. (funny how MJ and WH-last year come to mind.)Basically i'm just trying to say that don't get so one-dimensional about us because we are, as our motto says, better than u think.
  9. This is a game that I hope can turn into a great rivalry. Aggressive is the word that describes WH defense, and it was no fun trying to move number 38 when i was at TE. THat is the beauty of the game. You can give it all you can and still be satisfied once the job gets done. It stinks that this will be my last time playing WH, but at least it happened in old-fashioned slobber-knocker fashion. I am going to back eaglefan up on his wishes for a little support for our program. Though we have claimed the city in the name of Northwest High, we are still the outcast of the city. WIth a situation like that, all you can do is just keep on playing football. The respect was there at the game, and i am sure we got some after that one. As for the penalties, it was mental mistakes, not coaching, that was the main cause of it. We have been taught the concept of zero defect all year. To this day we haven't had such a game. Fortunantly, we went through enough adversity know better than to lay down and get punked. Good luck to WH on the rest of the season.
  10. if it does go down to that, we might still have that last spot. If all our records in the region are the same, then I think we will take it since we have beaten NE and MJ.
  11. Playoffs is our main sight now. I am just hoping that you all do well for the rest of the season and make it too. Practice is like playing a game here. Leave it all on the field and we will get results in the future. As far as Mt juliet goes, i understand they have a dangerous potential to upset a few top seeds. I like that. It makes for a good game. See you all next week!!
  12. Strange.... I could have sworn I saw him on the team when we played them. Oh well. Jahmel is doing alright, he is seeing time at DT. I dont know exactly what his stats are but he is impressive. What chance do you think we will play you all in a bowl game?
  13. I havent seen Springfield too often, but i think that NE can pull it off. NE just have to watch out and prevent the big play from happening, and they should be fine. How are Drake Reed and Remington Shaw turning out as football players? I know they are great basketball players, I just want to see how they are faring now.
  14. This is going to be a hard week, probably the hardest since we have to shift into guarding a running team after our last two or three opponets. It will be a good test to see what we can do. Sure, PC is physical and all, but we can get there too. It won't be a cake walk, but if our weapons bring their full effect, this game can go in our favor. This is our year to make a statement, all we have to do is leave it all on the field. :justwrestle:
  15. So the streak ends here. But that doesnt mean we will. I want to congradulate Stratford, but I also want them to know that they played a Viking team that wasnt going to let down and die for you. I hope, but doubt that we will get the kind of respect we have so long sought to get(the kind where teams will think twice before puting us as a HC game or overlooking us because we are an easy team to beat). It stinks knowing that will be the last time I will ever play them, but at the same time I feel kinda justified knowing that we laid it all out on the field. Things didn't go our way at first, but we bounced back from that. To all the critics of NW: if you all want to bash us on how we finally played a quality team in Stratford and lost, go ahead. I really don't care about that too much any more. As long as I leave that field feeling completely drained and assured that I did everyting I could, I will be satisfied with the game. I used to love coming here and just hearing what you would have to say about us. However, I have found something better than that. We gave it all we had and things just didnt go our way. It is simply time to regroup and concentrate on a bunch of Firebirds coming to our house next week.
