  1. This is my first post on Coacht since the end of the last football season, but as I was reading the boards today I realized just how close the season is. I don't really know how that I think that the Cougars will do this year, mostly because of the loss of their DC and most of the defense. I do have faith though that the defense will still have speed to stop the runners from the corners, although i worry that they may be stretched then when a team approaches them with a dual attack. Lenior City is a team that i have never had any dealings with in the past so therefore i don't have any knowledge of the players that they have. I think that the Cougars will have a potent offense this year given that Chris Johnson and Brance Stiner don't get hurt. I am looking in this game to see if any of the cougars inexperienced receivers have improved over the off season and are ready to step up because the cougars lost all of their starting receivers from last year. I think that if the cougars are able to move the ball in this game they will stay very close the Lenior City, surprising most of their fans. I don't however think that either team will win by more than 10 points. I think that if the cougars win, it will be a close game with neither team scoring over 21 points. I think thought that the cougars will come out on top with the defense getting a key turnover in this game. This game will set the tone for the year for the cougars, hopefully that tone will be set on a high note. I say cougars win by 7.
  2. This is a huge blow to the Jefferson County program's hopes this year. I was just hoping to get some feedback from some people close to the Jeff County program to see how that they think that it will affect the outcome of the Patriot's season.
  3. i left out a score with all my talking, i think that Chris Johnson breaks a couple of runs and the defense holds strong only giving up one score 14-10 now for you GL you say that i can't call anybody a wannabe, i'm saying that i'm a wannabe sometimes too and the key word in your sentence was played. meaning that you aren't currently playing. i don't have the love of football to give up that much of my time. if CC had a soccer program i would play so fast you couldn't blink but that's another arguement. i was trying to make my point that the players up here at CC at least work a heck of a lot harder than i would be able to just to get a W on friday night. i can only imagine the feeling of supporting my school in the sport that i loved, but that ain't gonna happen cause CC ain't getting a soccer program any time soon lata Shaunman :justwrestle:
  4. well, it's time for me to open my mouth again and talk a little bit. i've been very quite for the past 2 or 3 weeks, just observing the arguements of everyone on here. ya'll can argue over the dumbest things on here and i think that the reason is is that most of the posters on this sight are wanna-bes. what i'm saying is that they are either adults too old to play or high-schoolers that think that it would be awesome to play but they don't have the love of the game that it takes to dedicate that much time to their programs. as everybody probably knows i go to CC and i really respect the players on the football team and what they have done this year and every other year when the record hasn't shown it. they work very hard every day and do everything that they can to win. their work has finally payed off for them so how bout all of us wanna-bes give both teams a little respect. win or lose i will back my team, i don't care how bad we lose. i am very critical at times and i know that i shouldn't be unless i was out there with them. with all that said i guess that i'll talk about the game now. this is going to be a hard fought game. Karns always shows up for this game. a lot of times this game is played when neither team has a win and both are trying to stay out of the cellar. i'm not sure how bad Johnson is hurt, has he lost a step?? has he lost a little bit of the ability to take a hit due to the shoulder?? i don't have a clue...if so it'll be interesting to see how we do running against them. volunteertimessportseditor, you say that the passes would have been complete if it would have been against any other team besides D-B. i watched the game and the passes were thrown to the wrong shoulder every time. that's lack of experience at the quarterback position...not that i could do any better, i'm just saying that if you make that mistake you will make any defensive back in the region look good because they are always going to be where the ball is if they are covering to that side. i'm really curious to see how our defensive line does against the big boys that Karns has on their line. i have a cousin that goes to Karns and is a good friend of one of the lineman and they said that the boy is very fast to be that big. so can the speed of our line overtake the size of Karn's O-line?? many questions in this game. can our linebackers take the juke out of Elder with a couple of good licks?? i'll be there to see it but if the cougars don't win things don't look good at all for them. one more comment to make before i quit writing, i think that someone that doesn't get any recognition where it is well deserved is Coach David Wampler the defensive coordinator. he has done wonders with the Campbell County defense and has amazed me. i have grown up watching the cougars and they could usually score but couldn't hold the other team to under 50 points. if the other team can't score then they can't win. congrats to all the cougars on a great season...win or lose ya'll have played hard all year. lata Shaunman thumb
  5. well, it's time for my prediction. last week i missed terribly so i've been shamed from posting. this week i'm seeing a good possibility of a win for the cougs as long as they don't look past this game and view the playoffs instead of taking it one win at a time. i mean if you are gonna look at it as a whole then the cougs can be #1 in the region, winning the rest of their games. realistically i see them possibly winning 3 more games and could possibly be 2nd in the region with another Jeff. Co. loss. that would make CC be hosting a playoff game. what an accomplishment that would be. but back to this game. i see the cougars once again having a good defensive performance. i was at the Sevier County game and i was impressed by the pressure on Chaney, but the receivers were open the whole time but apparently had bricks for hands. i see the cougars getting 2 touchdowns but i don't quite know how. i see it being 13-0 cougars on top. lata Shaunman
  6. i just want to say congratulations to the cougars. i really didn't expect to see a win tonight, but was very pleased on my way home. ya'll fought hard and the defense held when it needed to. 3 shut outs in one year, unheard of in Campbell County. hopefully ya'll can make it 5 wins and a CC record next week with Bearden. we ruined their homecoming, let's not let them ruin ours. lata Shaunman
  7. well folks, i was dormant last week, but i'm back again now. i probably won't be going to the game tomorrow night due to plans of other sorts and i'll miss seeing the cougs play. this week the cougs square off against Brewer and the Bears of Sevier County. in order for the cougars to win this game they will have to show up and no make any stupid mistakes. this ain't no cupcake, one mistake could very easily decide this game. if you all really want my respect for you in reference to the region, take on SC, meet the challenge and ride the bus home. you have my full support but at that time you will have my true respect, which is pretty had to earn. but with all that said, i'm predicting a Sevier County win 21-14 with Pate coming out strong. if the O-Line makes holes for Johnson it could be another great night for him. i can't wait to see how he measures up against a good 5A defense. well, that's enough for me lata Shaunman
  8. well, before i talk about the game itself i would like to say that i really hope that they AD's do not cancel the game friday night unless the are totally forced to due to lightning or tornadoes or hurricane force winds. i think that no matter how hard it is raining football should be played. now for the game itself. the cougars have to stop the turnovers. i don't care what you say about time of possession etc. turnovers is what has shot them in the foot. yes, the talent is there but mistakes will make any team lose. in the Mo East game there was no turnovers for the cougars. i think it was 4 in the Jeff Co game and i'm think 3 or 4 in the Clinton game. 2 of which cost us precious points. in order for the cougars to win they need to hold turnovers to under 2. they also need some red zone offense. it just ain't happenin this year. for the game again this week i think that if the cougars do what they are supposed to do and refrain from turnovers that they will beat S-D possibly by a 3 touchdown margin. but i think that if they have turnovers again this week that the same result could be possible as in the Clinton game. this South-Doyle team has talent, i don't care how many teams blow them out. Orlando Lightfoot is gonna be hard to handle. especially if S-D runs it straight at CC's weakness on defense. the middle of the line. power kills speed. that's how both Jeff. Co and Clinton beat us. well i think i've talked enough. if ya'll want some controversy just counter me with something. i guarantee i'll be back. i'm still behind the Cougars, but i'm just pointing out the mistakes that are visable from my seat in the stands. and if it's pouring the rain Friday night and they have the game and it's flooded, i'll swim to get there. i don't care if i'm the only person in the stands. lata Shaunman
  9. well boys...and girls, i guess it's about time for my prediction. i'm almost embarrassed to get on here and post something after my horrible pick last week. i just let my team get to my head and made a bad call...the one thing that i try not to do. i was depressed by last weeks game, but some big bounces of the ball made a small difference in some places. i was impressed by Shiverdecker...hat's off. there was no offense to speak of besides a few passes last week and i don't see any coming soon. i still think that the cougars can win tonight though, i'm going to say 14-6. the only thing i'm worried about is Clinton coming in with fire and CC about like they were last week. if that happens i might be leaving sometime in the 4th like previous years. sorry if it sounds harsh, but it's the "non-biased" truth. lata Shaunman
  10. alright folks, it's time for my prediction. before i give out a score i would like to say that i think that this game will be a very low scoring game because CC has a very good defense...underestimated by JC4life. and i don't care what you say JC4life, that will be the case. i also don't think that our offense will score any more than 14-21 points. therefore the defense will have to step it up and hold them down and i think that they will. my prediction in the final end for this game is CC 14-JC 7 i think that this game will come down to the bounce of the ball. if a CC defender hit Shiverdecker the right way or hits whoever plays QB the right way and causes a touchdown or good starting field position then i think that it will decide the game. CC will have to play mistake free again this week, ya'll know what you want and you know how to get it so go out and git r dun. Go Cougs. don't make me a fool cougs. lata Shaunman
  11. i really think that Coach Wampler in Campbell County has done an awesome job with turning the defense around since he has come in. in the years before him we were an all offense and no defense team. now that has kinda switched and i think that his coaching is one of the main reasons for that.
  12. Maybe Campbell County's defense was the reason for the poor performance, i don't think people are giving them the respect they deserve. they are not all that large, but they are fast. just a thought lata Shaunman
  13. well folks, i ain't gonna give a prediction til later in the week, but all i will say is the score will be low. Shiverdecker alone won't be able to take the whole Campbell County defense on. linebackers played well in the Mo East game and i would expect the same this friday night. i guess i'll give my prediction on Wed. lata Shaunman
  14. alright possumcop, here's my opinion of the game. the defense looked very solid in the game. pressure on the quarterback was good and so was run stopping. i had a couple of things that i would have preferred been better, but i'm not going to give all the Jeff County fans nemore information than they already have on us. the offense needs some better pass blocking. that was obvious. every time Stiner looked up to pass he had someone in his face. i was thinking, please throw a screen. Mo East seemed to be overpursing the quarterback all night. whatever the red zone problem is it really needs help. that is the only aspect of the game that really let me down. the game could have easily been 28 or 35 to nothing in favor of the Cougs. if CC gets that problem fixed i'm screaming look out Pats cause we are coming. i'm hoping to be with the Cougar faithful there just like i was last night. i want to say one other thing before i go. i was very impressed with the CC fan turnout last night. hat's off. it really helped late too because we were even saying "HEY" to Mo East's band's song. of course their fans were already leaving because it was late in the 4th. lata Shaunman
  15. From what i have read on these post, football_36 and headhunter you all seem to be fans of Scott County and just because we are a rival of your team doesn't mean you have to come in here and say we aren't going to do anything. with some luck this could be a record setting year for the Cougars and laugh if you want, that means a lot to the team and some of the students at Campbell County. i don't go to Scott's posts and trash your team. i might give an a opinion such as the one on the bragging of skill players from the Jellico game, that's a poor comparison. right now though the cougars need to be looking at Mo East because it's looking better and better for them given the injuries sustained by Mo East last week. CC's defense is fast and Johnson has the moves. it'll be a show. i might be going so if i do i hope to see some Cougar faithful there. lata Shaunman
