  1. lol this thread is to funny. I guess we've all forgotten the #1 teams that were beaten in the past, or the #1 college teams that were beat in the past. Being ranked #1 on paper doesn't automatically mean you are going to win every game. That is why every Friday night in football season they strap on the pads and give it their all. Its not always the best team that wins, but who played the best on that given night. Yes Oak Ridge beat DB, but DB beat Oak Ridge earlier in the year as well. Lets also not forget that while Oak Ridge played Sevier Co and Farragut in Round 1 and 2....DB had to play Ooltewah and Soddy Daisy (who are probably the 4-6 best teams in 5A) When you play 2 teams like that back to back it starts to take its toll. I am not saying DB is #1 in the state, but even if they were that doesn't mean they can't lose on any given night. Take this with a grain of salt from someone who dislikes DB and OR very much.
  2. Who made all region this year, I have not seen a listing?
  3. 1$ adds up. I had to pay 40$ last night just to watch a HS football game with my family. Its getting as bad as movie prices.
  4. 1) Campbell County was largely associated with the Union during the Civil War. 2) Seveir Co's Hoss did play against CC. Going by those two statements you made, you obviously don't know much about history. Wether it be 1860's or 1-2 months ago.
  5. CC won this year because the administration finally let a couch stay at the position long enough to keep all of our talent from going to CC south (aka anderson country). The coach, plus the fact that we have a superb defense and one of the better running backs in the state helped a lot. But one of the key factors to having a winning season was the play of Brance Stiner. For the first time in a long time CC had a strong 2 dimensional offense and that was a huge factor. We also had a defense that pitched 6 shutouts and had 3 guys with 100+ tackles. If we are weak anywhere, its size...but they make up for that in speed. Not really sure where one of the above posters got his info, because our d isn't slow at all.
  6. we already have a topic on this
  7. Yes, The Mav, we do talk and support our team. Rightfully so I might add. Notice how when no CC players go to AC, they have a down year? This year they stayed at home and look what happened. CC might not ever make the playoffs again, but this year I am going to enjoy and watch some good football. BHSFootball, I have heard that Brance Stiner might play some Safety, but do not know about QB. Its highly unlikely though.
  8. You are right wrestler. CC does have an extremely good defense, but offensively we are slacking right now due to our starting QB being injured. After his injury, we pretty much went 1 dimensional with Johnson at the helm. 1 dimensional offenses don't succeed very well against a good D, so hopefully our defense will prevail.
  9. Knoxsoddy, there wasn't a CC fan here not giving Farragut credit. It was you that is not giving CC any credit. And although Jeff Co didn't make the playoffs, I bet they could give farragut a run for their money.
  10. This is my favorite time of the year. You get to watch all the disgruntled fans of non playoff teams show their true colors. Knoxsoddy, Id put money on the fact that you have never even seen CC play, and if you had, it was one game. and bigeastguru, I won't even make a comment on. Its obvious he is just trying to start trouble. I've never seen Farragut play, but from what I hear it will be a battle of Defenses. Will be a fun game to watch, can't wait for Friday to witness the first ever playoff game in CC history. Should be crazy!
  11. If Stiner was playing, I would defenitely go with CC. Without Stiner, I unfortunately think that Farraguts D is to tough for an obvious 1 dimensional offense. After Stiners break out game against Sci Hill we had emerged as a very potent 2 prong offense, with Johnson leading the charge and Stiner spreading out the D. With Stiner out, there will probably be 8-9 in the box the whole game. For CC to win, they are going to have to pitch another shut out or 1 hitter and hope for a break down in Farragut D.
  12. Well, if we are stating facts. JC has a weak out of conference schedule as well.
  13. I have heard a lot of talk about Farraguts linebacker Corp, and how good they are. I'd just like to mention the fact that two of CC's linebackers finished with 100+ tackles this season. That seems like a pretty decent linebacker corp as well to me.
  14. Quote from JC4life: CC is slightly more high scoring (you have to look at the competition though) JC, I am not sure why you keep bringing up CC's strength of schedule. We played the same region as you, thus playing the same teams. And as far as non conference games go, you played MOwest (4-6) and Cocke County (3-7), not exactly top class competition either.
  15. Nunley does the most with the least amount of talent surrounding him. That right there is why I would vote for Nunley. I would imagine if he gets 2k yardage playing for CC, he would get a lot more if he played for riverdale or DB.
