Let's talk Rhea Co and state tourney. Are the fans going to follow? School took three BlueBirds to Murfreesboro, what are they taking this week?

What a good game! I believe I am correct in saying this is a first for Rhea Co in making it to the 'Boro. Crowder and his team are to be congratulated. Credit given to Tim Cooper!! What a superb game he had-offensively and defensively. He reached deep within last night to finish the game. He was extremely tired at the end of the third quarter and did not give up. Get him rested, Crowder!

As a former basketball coach in the area (for 14 years) let me say that no one in my experience intimidated refs as much and as often as Brainerd's Robert High. He begins at the tip and never lets up. Many of my former colleagues questioned his basketball savvy, but I always had to admit that he tends to get the big calls late in the game and VERY rarely gets technicals. These are the two sure signs that a coach has "worked the refs" well. Also, his demeanor, I believe, instills in his players an inherent mistrust of everyone from the referees to the nacho salesmen. By the way, this may be for another strand, but Coach Ron Baker--McMinn, East Ridge, now Ooltewah--is by far the best all-around coach in the region: x's and o's, motivation, game management, preparedness. I've heard from Ooltewah people that son Chris Baker is an equally impressive coach.

I just want some information. I am trying to understand. I am searching for a school in Williamson County, I think. Is that Franklin High School, or is there another high school? This team has a coach by the name of Charles Gillespie, an assistant. Also, is Jack Daniels still at Brentwood? Thanks

Classless!! What an adjective! What an embarassment!! What needs to happen? There are so many rumors going around. I watched everything as best as I could last night. How would you ever determine who started? There were things happening the entire game. The refs should have dealt with that. I cannot tell you exactly what started the episode, for lack of a better word. Things seemed fine. Of course, immediately after the game, Cleveland players were celebrating. Several were on or around the 50 yard line and facing Rhea Co and were dancing. Many teams might have done this. Cleveland had just won an exciting ballgame. Then, there was two Cleveland players(maybe more, I don't know) on Rhea's sidelines. These guys were mouthing. I did not see the beginning of the episode close to the end-zone. I did see two "men" flying. I did see a helmet being used. By whom, I don't know. Did the refs let the game get out of hand? Where were they after the game? How many times was a head coach ON the field? Yes, the officials were reviewing the game. This has to be reoprted-for the best of both schools. Whatever happened to the day when a coach pointed to the sideline AND you went? Respect? Discipline? Do we teach this know-a-days? I didn't think anyone was gong to help the injured player from Cleveland. I think it is terrible what happened. Yes, things should be reported. If they aren't, what eare we teaching our kids about fighting? What have we already taught our kids? Coaches. Whatever happened to respect? discipline?

I would assume. Call and see. Better talk to principal or a.d.

I am hearing that Rhea County's girls' basketball coach was let go. Is this true? I have searched and searched the boards to find out any information. Anybody have any on this? I knew she was pregnant and due anytime. Maybe the rumor I am hearing is incorrect. Fill me in
