  1. Clarkrange played very good today. Somone different steps up in each game. Heady and Phillips work great together. The team is reading each other very good and the 1st string defense is playing great. These games were decided very early. Very proud of the girls.
  2. I disagree. This is a great group of girls. They will have opportunities to prove to be "one" of the best ever at CHS. I enjoy their talent and they are all good students. They have good attitudes and high ambitions past high school...that makes them a very fun group to watch and be around. Regardless of whether it is Clarkrange or another team, I always enjoy seeing our players, and rival players, go on and become successful.
  3. I have awaited the realignement today, I was anxious to see what would happen. RBS is being moved to District 8A according to the Tennessean. This will weaken our district on the girls side. I really hate to see TSSAA do this. RBS has some great rivalries with the other 7A schools. Swanson and company what do you all think about this?
  4. We have a nice freshman class at Clarkrange. They are led by Suzanna Cooper, a fast and tall point guard who really sees the floor well. Leah Norris provides size inside and is very agressive. Lacye Lowe (sister of Tori) and Gybrielle Young are going to be great outside shooters. They are both very smart with the ball. And one of my personal favorites, Savannah Smith is a great ball handler and can eat up a press. They are all great players with very bright futures. York Institute bost two of the best freshman in our area, Chelsea Cook, a sharp shooter, and Carly Dickens, an outstanding scorer and defender on the low post. Both will contribute this year at York. York boast a large freshman class with 8 players. Give them a couple of years and they will be a very tough group.
  5. Destiny is another great senior from the plateau. I have enjoyed watching her play and develop into such an outstanding player. She will certainly be an asset to Coach Van Atta's team. She may play at a rival school, but we are proud of her none the less.
  6. Tasha has worked very hard on the floor and in the classroom for the past four years. She is an outstanding gal. She will do a great job for the Lady Eagles! I am very proud of her.
  7. Lindsey Wright still not playing at Pickett County? anyone know?
  8. and how did this get started on a thread about Forrest and Clarkrange anyway??? You JC guys will do anything to get me fired up.
  9. Molly is doing great! I hate to tell you that no one recruited her, so dont give her that label. and check your facts regarding my statements...i never once said we did not have anyone move to our school to play ball...now..we never had anyone issuing statements to the Tennessean about a transfer..wasn't Ms. Leonard quoted as saying that they had spoke to Coach Brown and they were doing what was best for their daughter...I intepret that as recruiting.....We have never offered to trade favors to get someone to move in...talent goes where they can get noticed, isn't that what has been said? Laken Leonard is a great player. Jim Brown is a great coach. Your sassy, getto, and childish comments will not earn them anymore respect from me than I already have.... Do forgive me for my harsh comments about the young lady last year. I was eating them at state finals... Are you upset that Coach Heady wouldn't take the athletic directors offer for football coach...btw...who is your athletic director? lol Dont start with me. As an avid reader of the boards, I guarantee you will not win. Let 'em decide it on the court. That's what I should have done last season. Have you guys had any good scrimmages lately midtensportsfan? I hear you have a dynamite little point guard who is a freshmen, they say she is really good.
  10. We r pretty deep, but fatigue may play a huge factor ini the Forrest game. Hopefully we will rotate players alot in the opener. This is the first time we have ever done this, may bite us in the rear, luckily if we loose, we dont have to count it....
  11. This should be one of the premier HOF openers in the state....
  12. yes, clarkrange played in it last year...we played Cookeville, OS, and Heritage...the tournament always has good competition.
  13. Clarkrange is not participating this year either. not sure why. suprised Upperman is not in the field too. Only 8 girls teams this year?
  14. What is your opinion of adding Van Buren and Gordonsville to Distict 7A basketball? good or bad? Van Buren may be coming..... or what if you went past the time zone and Oneida or Sunbright were added? interesting, but doubtful... Look at the classification maps on the TSSAA website. I would love to see the district expanded back to 7 teams...even 8.
  15. hey...u stole my name...lol I would also be interested in a complete schedule... Clarkrange girls played in Franklin County Saturday. and I believe they play Smith County a couple of times over the next 2 weeks. York and Clarkrange boys play today.
  16. I am excited to see the Forrest vs Clarkrange rivalry extended another season. Should be a good game. Hope Aunt Kim will be making the trip...we will roll out the red carpet for her! (Wont hardly be the same without Gabby Bussell, but I think her sister plays....Bussell was a good one).
  17. suprised i have not got a response. anyone know the answer to my question???
  18. Good player. classy program. Bryan got a good one.
  19. Clarkrange beat Bradley Central by 20, Lawrence County by 20, and Blackman by like 15. Looking foward to this season Jimbo44. I always enjoy your post about our UpperCumberland teams.
  20. Just curious as to where or if these gals are playing in college. Cortney Dyer and Misti Maxwell- Jackson County Chelsea Brown- Stone Memorial Very talented, nice girls. just wondering...
  21. Antwan...not sure what was meant by that either. I have always thought of Smith Co. as one of the better programs in our area. Don't take that comment too personal.
  22. My bad.....but I dont live in a glass house,
  23. Oh friend of mine....If we have a player move in, it is because she and her family want to move, not because our coach or someone cut a deal or made some promises to get her to move. You wouldn't get an apology from me, nor a smirk. My opinion of how the Browns conduct business has not changed. There are always some players that move during the off season, out of 9 player transfers/moves since the 03-04 season mentioned in the Herald-Citizen on Sunday 6-1-08, 7 of those player involved Jackson County(one left for Smith Co.), 2 involved Clarkrange (one left for Stone). Brown works hard in the offseason to build a team, Rogers works hard to develop a team. And you guys don't have to act like Brown has some deals in the works as suggested earlier. We are sure he does, there are lots of rumors floating around.....some probably have some substance. Notice how no one is counting Jackson County out even though the graduated three starters. Coach Brown will have a good team regardless if he picks up a couple of new players or if he sticks with what he has.
  24. Slept thru the first round of what? chat/rumors about Molly Heady? denial about what? that they have just made a final decision to move? I cant read their minds and it is none of my business anyway.... No, I heard it all, I just like to know it is true before I go running my mouth about it Muff. Why u always wanting to start something???
