  3. I picked BCHS by one last game and was dead right! It's extremely hard to beat a good team three times in a row! I'll pick Cleveland by 7! The game that really matters is next week! Cleveland 73 BCHS Bears and Coke Machines 66 No Cleveland whining for a week! Keep your tie on Coach Green cause it's coming off next week!
  4. REGION 4 Shelbyville is a pretty good lock to host sub-state. Since Lawerence Co. got third, they will be in Shelbyville's bracket. I see Cookeville or White Co. on the road! Nothing is ever for sure in this region though! AP Poll

Polls always end the week before district.

    LA vs Jackson

Livingston Academy 42 Jackson County 56 The real game is the Region finals! I guess we still have a week before that! Round Three is on for Friday!
  9. The only person that can stop Brandi is herself. She's blossomed into a fine player. I wish her well at Wallace State or wherever she goes. Her talent has been known ever since her sophomore year when she hit that three to help BCHS to beat Cumberland on their floor. She'll carry the Bearettes or they will find themselves in the consolation!
  10. I player OVC ball Player69. Does that mean I stink also? Halston would take you to the wood shop. I probably could too. Why don't you go find some good grammer and walk-on at the local JUCO school! Your vulgar language just shows that every now and then you crawl up from underneath your rock to bash extremely talented players. Why don't you just find another basketball website for thug wanna-bes!
  11. Soddy-Daisy has got either Cleveland or Bradley in the first round. The first round of region will be the last time you see Lance Sexton play high school ball, but you can come to Cleveland to watch him play at Lee next year...how ironic!
  12. I'm taking the Devils all the way to state! Jackson County by 14! Battle tested and Tournament ready! Don't let the record fool ya! Jackson County 56 Hog-eye Hog-eye T-N-T 42 [Edited by HUCK on 2-26-03 11:41A]
  13. Harlow is a big game preparer! Bearettes by 3 BCHS 47 McMinn 44
  14. I bet you money that the parent put it in his head too! They are the worst. They try to live their dreams through their children. One parent a couple of years ago chased me and the head coach out of this gym. He said that we didn't leave her in long enough for her to be productive. She was a role player and we needed a board so she was called upon. A great coach once told me that you only need 5 players to play a game and you don't lose with seniors on the floor!
  15. Brainerd scored more points? they better not let Ooltewah do that! Cleveland and Bradley are waiting!
  16. Coach's are also teachers, parents, and relatives. Recruiting is the responsiblity of the player. The coach can help provide info and other stuff, but they are already spread to thin. Another thing is the pay doesn't warrant coaches to spend 24/7 on coaching. As a coach, I like helping my player find a school that best suits them ACADEMICALLY. The chances of becoming pro are slim to none. I don't mind putting together a tape or calling to give a good recommendation. There just doesn't seem to be enough time as a high school coach. We are way underrated, but on the other hand I'm in this business to develop my players into professionals and I don't mind going above and beyond to ensure that they have a future away from basketball. If they can put up with a coach like me for 4 years then they deserve all the help they can get!
  17. That's how you get your advantage is through small. Standing room only is good enough for me
  18. You can argue Insell's tactics all you want, but it's not going to take away those 8 state championships! We coach to win..no more, no less [Edited by HUCK on 2-25-03 2:40P]
  19. I remember back at TTU when I was a sophomore. I went to watch #1 Livingston Academy (won state that year) against the Lady Dawgs #2 behind Bradford! The lady Dawgs and their press wore The Lady Cats out. I got there and thought...what a small little rat hole, but it turned out to be one of the best high school games I've ever seen. They won by 20 points! It's a game in a special place that I will always probably remember! Thanks for the memories! Go Lady Dawgs...host a sub-state game..I wouldn't mind driving 3 hours to watch one more time!
  20. It's wide open! Execution and Confidence will bring home the A title. Good luck to all....but if I had to chose I'd say....Celina and Clarkrange in the finals!
  21. Lady Dawgs are on their way to state! I've seen this train before and it's rolling all the way to the Murphy Center! Good Luck Celina and make the upper Cumberland Region proud!
  22. First Bledsoe has to get past McMinn Central and Walker Valley...then in sub-state they will face Jackson Co or Livingston Academy. It's a uphill battle...I don't see them in state! Sorry!
  23. Cumberland over Rhea 18 62/44 Bradley over McMinn 1 49/48 Cleveland over Cumberland 16 58/42
  24. Records shouldn't be the main component in whether a coach is the best. I believe character is the most important. Coach Logsden is one of the greatest people I've ever met. He spends countless hours of practice and counseling to develop his wrestlers. He tries to make professionals out of them. Even if Bradley was losing. He would be the best to me. When I was at Bradley he was respected not only as a teacher and coach, but also as a friend. Respect goes a long way and he best demonstrates this. Him and Coach Turner Jackson set the example for any coaching staff. They were always willing to lend a hand. All they did was give 100% and thats what makes him above the rest. Good Luck in the future Coach Logsdon!
  25. Teams like these don't stay down for long. I thought Jackson would stumble this year, but look at them now! The upper Cumberland is full of talent in womens basketball. That's the one thing I miss about college at Tennessee Tech. Watching 7 AA duke it out. Hopefully one day I'll find myself back in the region. Another good thing is the good fan support and sportsmanship that even you are showing. After the games are over and the smoke is cleared everyone still knows that basketball is just a game. Congradulations to the Lady Bees and Dana McWilliams and good luck in the future! [Edited by HUCK on 2-24-03 11:12A]
