  1. 7 AA is the district year in and year out! The upper Cumberland teams are rocking this year not only in AA but in AAA and A. If I was a betting man I'd put my money on those teams. they just play solid half-court tempo controlling ball. They can be beat, but it's not very often.Who can step up to them....Westview gave us trouble in summer camps in the past and also McMinn Central, if they live up to their potenial. Good luck to all!
  2. player69 probably never stepped on a college basketball court. It's always the non-athletic goofs that talk bad about other ball players. I agree with any decision the Halston has made. He controls his own destiny. To say he stinks is very rude. Find another thread!
  3. All I'll remember is the two L's that are on Cleveland's schedule!
  4. White County in 1998 and 1999 Back to Back State Championships! Brent Jolly [Edited by HUCK on 2-20-03 3:15P]
  5. Got any walk-on positions there?
  6. Lance or no Lance Soddy Rolls. I'll say Soddy by 11/59-48
  7. Good post! Intensity and Physicalness are part of the game. Some people need to try playing college ball. Give the kid a break. He's laying it all on the line. Just because your kids good the feelings hurt in a ballgame doesn't mean Harris is a thug. If it was dirty I'm sure the refs would look into the matter.
  8. I guess you were at Cleveland during the years Bradley was rolling over the Blue Raiders. Zimmerman moved on to Cookeville where I think he did a half-decent job. He did a pretty good job at Cleveland also. Forced to resign...I'm not sure about all of that. I really didn't keep up with Cleveland while I was at TTU. Why do all you Cleveland people complain now. We didn't here it during the V Yarbourgh years of Slama Jamma! Were there bad calls then? Your sounding like your getting cheated everytime you come over to Smiddy Arena. The game is as fair at Cleveland as it is at Bradley. The district and region tournaments tell the story. Seasonal Domination carries over into the tournament. The close games swing and the end results are not biased, but are won by good execution and coaching. So live with the rivalry and quit complaining.
  9. Joel Z: You played for Cleveland so your enormously biased. During the Reggie Tucker and David Turner years Bradley hardly ever beat Cleveland. They had alot of good players come through. Ref bias is all in your head. Blaming your shortcoming on refs is absurd. Do you blame the refs when you win. "The refs really helped us out this game. If it wasn't for them we might have had to start the bus up early!" Look in the mirror before you throw nonsense out!
  10. Lawerenceburg is kinda Shelbyville. Homecourt advantage is big District 8. The only difference is that the concession workers aren't dogging you when you walk in the front door! Lawerence by 7/47-40
  11. This years tournament is at Cleveland and it is wide open! How will pull it out. Will Bradley's coaching staff make the necessary adjustments to pull off the upset again. Will Cleveland's talented team be able to overshawdow the underachieveing staff. Will McMinn put the pieces together and rise to the top. Can Cumberland put a run together to get the title that has escaped their grasp for so long! Can you feel the drama! And we haven't even talked about the guys bracket! I believe Bradley will pull it out like usual with Brandi Scott taking the MVP.
  12. Raider2: I was an assistant and let's just say that I never lost to your team while I was on the sideline.
  13. That's very true! I think Slatten is one of the most fundementally sound coaches in the game. He's a Bob Knight man! Sometimes in coaching you have to adjust to get your good players to develop into your system. We lost alot of girls in my three years of coaching because they just didn't like the coaches philosophy. They just looked to other schools that they thought would provide a better opportunity. Slatten has been in the game for awhile. He's got that championship ring from Perry County. Green has got alot of growing to do, but he has established himself as firm coach. His philosophy is becoming accepted by all the athletes Cleveland has to offer. When you put these athletes together and develop chemistry, then you most certainly become successful!
  14. Both The district 5 tournament and 3-AAA region tournament are at Cleveland. They will be losing alot of money because of the smaller facility. The gym only holds 1800 so you better get there early. I think I'll just go over to the Region 4-AAA tournament. The girls games are excellent!
  15. I was only two points off. Good job Jackson. Hold that Line!
  16. Aaron Green has one win versus Bradley..that was in the District finals in 2001. This is his third season. Regular season he is 0-6. It really is amazing how he turned the program around and got discipline out of Cleveland. He has a bright future. I don't see him in the high school ranks for long. [Edited by HUCK on 2-19-03 2:22P]
  17. It takes an extremely talented team to finish the regular season undefeated. Tough schedule or not. Focus ahead one game at a time. It would be nice to see someone give Oak Ridge or Shelbyville a run for their money!

    Aaron Green

Your from Nashville! Find your own hometown coach to bash! Cleveland loves controversy! [Edited by HUCK on 2-19-03 2:09P]
  19. How are 4000 fans going to fit in the capacity 2000 Cleveland gym during the region tournamnet. They ought to move it to a bigger facility like McKenzie. hum... Better not...Coach Green will have an excuse for losing.
  20. Nick32, You have listed 3 AA teams and a District 6 2nd place team. Can you provide a better list, like AAA teams or out of state teams that would be legitmate competition. Bradley played three Alabama teams, Oak Ridge, Oakland, not to mention the out of state teams they played in the Thanksgiving tournament. We'll see in the end who the better team is. [Edited by HUCK on 2-19-03 2:03P] [Edited by HUCK on 2-19-03 2:04P]
  21. Does the SOS also include the out of state teams that Bradley beat in the Christmas tournament. You look at the schedules and honestly tell me that Cleveland has played a tougher schedule. Cleveland hasn't played anybody, but East Tennessee teams. Bradley has played Oakland and Lebanon. The Middle Tennessee teams are the ones they will play in sub-state. Reaching the state tournament is a goal of every team and Bradley is a constant contender and not a pretender like some other WHINEY teams that complain instead of absorbing their loses.
  22. Eliminator, were you one of the students from Cleveland that got sent to the Jail after the game..you sure do sound like one! [Edited by HUCK on 2-19-03 12:57P]
  23. Don't worry about the rankings because that won't get you to state. Focus and Execution are what got Bradley the wins over Cleveland and if you remain in the past then the future will look real bleak in the district and region tournaments. Those games decide if you've had a successful season or not...not some poll!
  24. Great Game...Your in Shelbyville baby! It's already over when you get off the bus. Shelbyville by 20
