  1. Don't go there Jack.lol Bet you're the life of the party. Its called a football play. Its a contact sport. So, according to you, LHS defenders were supposed to stop and not hit him because he was trying to throw the ball? "He was taken to the ground while in a passing position."? Give me a break. And, the play happened in the center of the line of scrimmage and the QB facing forward so we saw it fine. Heck, we could argue the officials kept mTp in the game to begin with by not blowing the whistle late in the 2nd quarter while mTp ripped the ball away from a kid who's forward progress was stopped for 10sec. That was inside the mTp 15 yd line. What's your opinion on the onside kick that didn't go 10 yards the gave mTp the possession that they scored their final TD on? Loretto never touched the ball and mTp took possession on THEIR 49 yardline. Since they officials spotted the ball there, its plain it didn't go the required 10yards did it? Maybe we could see that better from our sideline even though you had the best seat in the house on the 50. As you've stated twice already, move on. Its over. We won.
  2. Sorry, but yea you did. Ya'll lost and the first thing that happened was one of your fans got on here and blamed the officials.
  3. Roughing the passer??? We tackled him while he STILL HAD THE BALL. Fact is, they blew the call on the insides kick that the kid touched after 7 yards and said Loretto fumbled on a play that should've been blown dead inside the MP 15 yard line that cost us a chance to score at the end of the 1st half. Granted, that crew is bad and has been before, but the calls didn't cost MP the game. MP has some great athletes, but we made plays. Our OL took some control in the 2nd half. MP had trouble then when we ran straight at the with our fullback. Ryan Ward (FB) played one of the best game I've seen him play. Good luck the rest of the way.
  4. So, just to be fair, if you take away the BGA game since ,"They're 3A. Not a district game", then can we take away the games that Loretto played against Lewis County (3A) and Lawrence County (4A)? Man, that's even better. Loretto is undefeated then, scoring 61 points and giving up 9. This is great! Hope everyone coming to Loretto has a safe trip.
  5. Only two things have beaten mTp this year... themselves and their opponents??? No kidding. What else would've caused them to lose?? jk What about when Loretto has the ball?? Will Rosson keep it? or give it to Allen? Neese? Ward? Will he throw it to Burks? Nunley? Allen? or Neese? Fact of the matter is the game could go either way but you coming on here talking about how mTp has improved means nothing to Loretto. It just means that while you listened to a game you admit you didn't see, YOU believe they will win. If Loretto maintains some balance to their offense, they win..... As you said in the above post, Loretto is no BGA... works for me, because mTp is no Lewis Co...who we should've beaten if not for some special team breakdowns. Should be a good game and if you choose to come to LoTown, safe travels to you.
  6. Key is our DL maintaing their position at the line of scrimmage. Don't need to worry about getting alot of penetration. Just clog up things at the line and don't give Montgomery lanes to run in. Keep him from breaking something big and make him work for everything he gets. On offense, I'd like to see Loretto open things up early. If we can get a few passes completed and not be one-dimensional, I don't see Collinwood out scoring us. Hope all the 'wood fans coming over have a safe trip.
  7. Yep, Loretto's coaches were sure worried about the two missing Perry Co players. Give me a break. Loretto came out and executed. With the Perry Co offense it was over when it got to 14-0. Also since we're talking about the official causing the suspension of the two kids. The fact that Perry Co had 4 personal foul and 1 unsportsmanlike conduct penalty last night shows that maybe they're not as innocent as you guys make'em out to be. Loretto's size on the lines and speed both gave Perry Co trouble.
  8. Should be a good game. Loretto had some breakdowns in special teams that I hope they got fixed during the bye week. QB played pretty well but is still late on his throws and threw one across his body into the middle of the field for an INT in the Lewis co. endzone. If he takes care of the ball, its a winnable game for Loretto. Defense actually played pretty well against a pretty stout Lewis Co team. Gave up 34 to Lewis but they scored once after they got the ball deep in Loretto territory after a blocked punt, ran an INT and a kick off back for TDs.
  9. Had at least 2 incompletions where Rosson threw back to the field while running to the boundary. Lucky those weren't picks. Overall, they were solid. Play Friday night against East Hickman in the jamboree at Hickman Co.
  10. Believe Loretto's starters scored on every possession. Know they scored 5 times. Loretto"s B-team had 2 possessions and scored once. Zion may have gained 30yards in a 10 play series against the B-team but LHS starters stoned Zion. Not sure Zion had 50yards in 6 series' against them.
  11. Loretto loses two seniors from this years team, Rachael Stone and Meredith Green. Both will be missed but the future does look bright for the Lady Mustangs if they stay healthy. Jana and Leah could very easily both average 20 points a game next year and thats a heckuva start. Agree on Jessica mas1821, thought she should've been in the game in the 2nd half against Seymour since she's our best entry passer and all the Seymour post players had four fouls. Her and Jana work so well together that I thought she should've been in the game when we cut the lead to two and had the ball. A good pass to Jana and Johnson fouls out, Jana either gets the bucket or hits two at the line and Seymour would've been done. Lotsa talent coming back and I feel like the girls, now that they've had a taste of the tourney, will be especially hungry next year. With some hard work and good health they'll be hard to handle. If Sarah Brewer will practice with or against Jana everyday, she'll be a good compliment to Jana. She's got good size and seems to handle the ball pretty well. Oh yeah, can't wait to get Mandy Cross some PT. Different player than her sister, but she's gonna be good. Her and her sister are two of the finest young ladies around and I can't wait to see them run the floor together next year. Congrats ladies on a wonderful year. You made the entire Loretto family proud.
  12. Just so happens, we've got a pretty good post player at Loretto. She's not 6'4" but she'll give Miss Johnson more than she wants. If you don't know her right now, you will. I promise you this much, Jana won't be the least bit intimiated by her and will take it to her. If Leah is on, and we can get Laura back to the Christmas tourney form she showed before she hurt her knee, we'll be hard to handle.
  13. All right Summertown fans, if I'm not mistaken the Summertown girls play at 5:30 Wed. right before the Lady Mustangs take to the courts, so let's make a deal. We'll come early, and ya'll stay late and let's get the local teams off to a good start with some vocal fan support. Good luck to the Summertown girls and GO LADY MUSTANGS!!!!!!
  14. Hang in there lolo, 3balla needs to relax. You said absolutely nothing that was downing the team and if balla doesn't realize we have a consistancy problem, then too bad. The inability to hold a lead is gonna bite us in the butt one day soon, and hopefully it's not tourney time. That was cute about approaching the coach and letting her know how lolo felt. If you were trying to be funny you almost made it. If the coach needs to be told we have a serious problem holding leads we are in bad, bad shape. Don't know whether it's a concentration thing or we just tend to relax when we have the lead, but it's her job to do everything in her control to stop it from happening. So the ultimate responsibilty falls on Coach Green and if she needs to be told anything it shouldn't be from someone on this board. It should be from (A) her assistant coach or ( her boss. lolo, did nothing to degrade the players and I think we have a great group of girls. They're extremely athletic and they play hard every night. I think sometimes they could be coached better in certain situations, but Coach Green is improving, as she gains experience. By the way, 3balla, did you pick us to win at Marshall County? Thats what I thought. Marshall County, since forever has always had an athletic team and if they are allowed to play their game can beat alot of teams. Its up to Coach Green and Killen to figure out a way to get them to play our run-up and -down the court game. If they do, we win by double digits.
  15. Didn't sound like luck had alot to do with it. Sounded like LHS made a good defensive play and hit a pressure shot. It's not like they hadn't hit from long range since they had about a dozen threes. Good teams find ways to win and tonight it was from long range. With Lewis Co. dropping down on Jana, my favorite gal Meredith hit 3 threes to open the game. (Excellent job Mere).LHS hit something like 55% of their threes and only 36% from two point land. By the way, Lewis Co. won't normally shoot as well as they did tonight either (I think they hit like 61% from the field), so maybe they were lucky to have the lead. Anyway, it was a great game and congrats to both teams.
  16. Willy, the only that paint had to do with anything is that the officials must have been sniffing it. Truth is, with halfway decent officiating, Loretto is still undefeated. In their two losses, they've been outshot at the line 82 to 32. Maybe we'll get to play straight up 5 on 5 next time and we'll see what happens.
  17. Did you see the Giles Co. game LB? The only reason for their win was a 43-12 difference in FTs. attempted. ( They hit 26 to LHS 8 by the way). The officials were so bad (even worse than some I've seen in Lawrenceburg believe it or not) and don't worry, we'll make the gym at LCHS ours in Jan. If you haven't figured it out yet, your ride is over and your team and gym intimidate no one.
  18. Say what you will but the officiating stunk. Granted, Loretto didn't play a good game but the foul discrepency was terrible. LHS was called for 18 second half fouls while Giles County was called for 5. Never should it be that large a difference. The fact that they shot 31 more free throws is terrible, especially with the full court man-to-man defense they play. Officiating as a whole stinks in the entire state. Heck, there's no way we should have gotten the call we got to beat Lewis Co at the time of the game we got it (1.3 sec left). But we have to forget things we can't control and get ready for Summertown Thursday and FRA Friday.
  19. Hey golfcat, what's with the caps man? Third key from the bottom on the left hand side. Do you honestly believe number of students plays no role when it comes to athletics? That's ridiculous. Occasionally, you'll have an ultra-talented team from lower classifications but for the most part, when a school has two or three timees the athletes to choose from its an advantage. That being said, I do believe LHS will win tomorrow night. Jury is still out on our coaching but for the first time in a long time, we are the deeper, more talented team, we're at home and we didn't have a game tonight.
  20. Trojan, Jana had 2 fouls, so she wasn't in foul trouble. The coach just took her out. By the way, she finished with 2 fouls ( she told me she had 2 and I believe she would know). So you know nothing, " for a fact". Also, the only thing said about the coach in those post was that people felt she wassn't ready to be a head coach since she had no coaching experience. Not really derogatory statements, just the truth. Nobody said a word about firing her, etc. So, if we need any help in our discussions we'll call someone more knowledgable than you.
  21. Actually bball, no starters were in foul trouble ( the most any of them had was 3, and that was for the game, not in the 2nd quarter) so instead of blowing off at the mouth, check your facts. No one said anything about the coach either Einstein. So along with your punctuation mistakes, your post is nothing more than crapola. We will compete in AA this year and for a few years down the road. All that was said was that we were flat Fri. and we were. Perhaps when we come over to the 'Wood later this season, we will show up ready and you'll see the difference. As far as playing "Team Ball", I hear that topic was discussed at practice today and maybe we'll see improvement there. By the way, it's Loretto, with an O.
  22. Why was the Loretto post on coaching locked? The questions posed in the topic were relevant. There was nothing greatly disturbing said in it and it asked questions that more and more LHS fans want answered. Not trying to start trouble, just wondering why a topic on alot of minds in this area would be locked with nothing really nasty being said.
  23. Luck had little to do with it. Laura got within 3 feet and banked it home. And very few teams, if any, will beat Loretto easily so you can forget that. Fact is, we came out flat, played with four starters on the bench in the 2nd quarter and CHS still couldn't put us away. Collinwood played well, but you didn't get our best by far.
  24. Alright Score3. First off, I like Paige personally. She's a sweetheart. But she has almost no outside game. Every jumper she shoots, she seems to be falling away or to one side or the other. Also, on the break, the girl has no idea what's going to happen because she tends to get out of control and dribble with her head down, and if you check the numbers, she has probably a 3 to 1 turnover to assist ratio which wouldn't be so harmful if she scored more. Again, I like Paige, but to me she's a much better option off the bench.
  25. The girls did look pretty good last night but I don't think they had alot of competition as Wayne Co. looked down from their usual self. My girl Jana probably did have 20 boards to go with her 23 and had at least 6 blocks. Leah should be starting in Paige's place but as long as PH has a good relationship with the coach that won't happen. Leah looks as if she's a half a step quicker than last year and didn't force as many shots. Took what they gave her and she nailed'em. Rachael seems comfortable running the team and she definitely draws a D when she penetrates and made some good passes. Laura had a rare off night as she's usually hot when you give her open looks from deep but she'll get going hopefully Friday night. Meredith is a fav because she knows that her role is to control the boards, play serious D and pick up some points along the way. With all the shooters on the squad, she's a perfect complement. Again, if we can get Leah plugged into a starting role and get Paige, Jessica Green (who is a good passer off the wing. You can tell that her and Jana have played together for a long time), and Channing to give us some quality minutes, we'll play late into the tourney season. Its just up to our coach not to screw things up come crunch time.
