consistency would be wonderful. what bothers me is some of these guys in basketball are out of shape. it would be scarey if one of them had a heart attack on the court. i have made many pictures of ref, umpires ect from volleyball to basketball. some of their guts hang out over their belts. some of them can't climb the ladder to get up to do a volleyball game. i think i could do some of this. i know no weight requirement, apparently no eye test. there are many good refs that enjoy the kids and call a fair game but sometimes you have a few that have egos. i think the worst ref is one that listens to the crowds and doesn't pay attention to watch the game is in charge of be it softball, volleyball or basketball. but it looks really bad when one ref is lagging down the court!! tssaa needs to look at that. panther mom

Anderson Co is a different team than regular season. We beat them easily with elliott out with knee injury. Whitney is 30% of their scoreing. Should be a close game , Did you notice all the top players on both teams are former Raiders AAU players? Mardessa and Janell included. SORRY ABOUT THE ACL. OUR DAUGHTER TORE HER IN SOCCER AS A CONDITIONING SPORT. SHE WAS A SOFTBALL PITCHER. WE HAD HER SURGERY ON OCT 31 2002. WE HAD HER REHAB BACK AND PITCHING BY FEB 2003. ST. MARYS IN KNOXVILLE/ KNOXVILLE ORTH WITH DR. MATHIEN. SHE DID WELL WITH THE SURGERY. REHAB WAS DONE IN CROSSVILLE AT CMC. MAKING SURE YOU DO THE EXERCISE FAITHFULLY AND DOING IT EVERY DAY. SOMETIMES WITH TEENAGERS IT HARD TO GET THEM TO DO IT. WE MADE HER WALK SLOWLY BACKWARDS ON THE TREADMILL, ON THE EXERCISE BIKE, FLOOR EXERCISES... HER PITCHING INVOLVED HER STEPPING/ STRIDING ALOT. THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE IS THEY OVERCOME THE FEAR OF HURTING IT AGAIN AND AS A PARENT WORRYING ABOUT IT. I ALWAYS SAY NOT THE KNEE!!!NOT THE KNEE... ESP IF SHE WAS RUNNING A BASE. WE HAVE HAD OTHER INJURIES BROKEN NOSE, ORBITAL FRACTURE OF EYE AREA, AND KNEE. BUT THE KNEE IS WORSE THAN A BROKEN BONE. GOOD LUCK... REHAB, REAHB, REHAB!!!

AS A PARENT I HAVE TOLD MY DAUGHTERS TO PROTECT THEIRSELVES ON THE BALL COURT OF SOFTBALL FIELD. SOMETIMES THERE IS JUST ONE GIRL WHO TAKES PRIDE IN HURTING SOMEONE!! YOU CAN USUALLY TELL THAT WHEN THEY ARE SMIRKING ON THE COURT OR THE FIEILD... AND SOMETIMES ACCIDENTS JUST HAPPEN WHEN TWO AGGRESSIVE ATHLETES ARE GOING ONE ON ONE.. AND YOU CAN TELL A TEAM HAS RESPECT FOR ANOTHER TEAM WHEN SOMEONE IS HURT BY THEIR COACH!!! SEVERAL YEARS AGO MY DAUGHTER PLAYED SOFTBALL AGAINST A TEAM FROM JOELTON.. IN NASHVILLE AREA.. WHEN THE COLLISION OCCURED ON THIRD AS A BLOCKING THE BASE AS THE RUNNER CAME FROM SECOND.. WHICH HAPPENS QUITE FRENQUENTLY THE OPPOSING TEAM SHORT STOP LANDED ON TOP BUT DID NOT ROLL OFF.. SHE PROCEDED TO HIT OUR PLAYER WITH ELBOWS AND HER CLEATS JUST LIKE KICKING OR STOMPING HER.. AND TO MAKE IT WORSE THE COACHES FROM THIS SUMMER TEAM LET THEIR PITCHER WARM UP NEXT TO THIRD BASE WHILE SHE WAS LAYING ON THE GROUND!!!! WAITING FOR AMBULANCE TO GET A CT OF THE HEAD. THAT'S EXAMPLE OF THE COACH WHO HAD NO RESPECT AND HIS TEAM... TO MAKE IT WORSE AT THIS NASHVILLE TOURNAMENT THE UMPIRE SAID HE WAS NOT THEIR TO BABYSIT... THE UMPIRES AND COACHES/ PARENTS HAVE TO SET A ROLE MODLE... BUT SOMETIMES IT HARD TO SET TO PLAY CLEAN WHEN YOU KNOW CERTAIN TEAMS PLAY DIRTY... IN OUR CASE OF SOFTBALL IT'S CALLED A MUGGIN ON THE FIELD/ COURT.. I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF INJURYS WITH MY 3 GIRLS PLAYING SPORTS MOST OF THEM NOT BY ANOTHER PLAYER ON THE COURT OR THE FIELD... ALOT OF THIS GOES BACK TO THE PARENTS/COACHES AND UMPIRES/REFS.. THERE HAS TO BE SOME CONTROL OF A GAME...IT IS ALWAYS NICE TO SEE AN ATHLETE APOLGIZE OR SAY I AM SORRY... TO THE OPOSING PLAYER.. I FELT BAD WHEN MY DAUGHTER PITCHING IN 12 UNDER TOURNAMENT IN OHIO.. THE BALL HIT THE ONLY PLACE NOT PADDED HER ELBOW...SHE HAD TO LEAVE IN AMBULANCE.. how could clarkrange be tired?? have you ever been in there gym... they crank up the heat and pratice in the heat in that little gym!! what few games i've been to it very hot and dress light... i find it hard to believe they wore them down.. jackson county must have turned on the cold air!! just a good game between two teams that have been competitive the last 30 + years.. it was the same way when joe halfacre coached against lamar rogers years ago... those games were battles too!!! and i sure many more to come from two areas who play basketball all year long.. should be another good game coming up in the sweat box and still a district battle to come..

we heard from a non bias person from neither county looks like jackson county ran upperman down?? some of the girls not in good conition to play a hard game like that? just wondering?? did that make the difference in the outcome of the game? did upperman just run out of gas?

Did I see where Loudon lost to Upperman? Stone beat Upperman and also won against a better Livingston team. Who picked Loudon to finish first??

A very offensive ballgame, both pitchers struggled with a very tight and low strike zone. Stone's bats were the difference!!! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Stone Memorial came out ready against Gibbs, playing the underdog all week. Stone fed off the press and played one of their best games of the season against a great team. Pigeon Forge is now in the same position , Stone better not come out flat as there are no easy wins left in the field of 16. Pigeon Forge is for real and I am sure that they would like to end the Stone season with a thud!! Stone went out this year looking for the toughest competition they could find, Soddy, Riverdale, etc,. We hope it has hardened the team to hold in tough situations. Stone can expect a tough championship game or games. We are just glad to get to the final without other games in our very tough district. It will be a great game between CAK and Kingston.
