  1. I am a Perry co supporter and I want to congratulate the other 3 teams going to the regional tournament for having great seasons and a great tournament. As a fan, I saw some excellent basketball. In a 4 team tournament, one team has to fininsh 4th and this time it was us. It wasn't because we are gracious hosts. We just got beaten twice in a row. But..... there is a next game for us so I get to be a supporter for at least one more game. I want to congratulate Coach Franks and the Wayne Co. players. They won with class and are playing the best bb in the district. I would be equally proud if I was supporter of the other 2 teams with the class and effort made by those players. Good luck to all 4 teams in the Regional. Let's all represent the District and show that win or lose, we will play hard and earn the respect of our opponents. Each must win the next 2 or the season is over. Go Vikings.
  2. I can confirm that Louis was eligible and did play tonight. It is correct that Louis was held held during the investigation so the games would count if he was ruled unable to play. A letter was sent in November confirming he was eligible and it was a request from Wayne County that resultied in the review of his eligibility. I agree that if there is some question, it should be checked out. Why it took so long is what I don't understand. We never did hear what was at issue. I guess if you have declared him eligible and then there is a question, you surely don't want to err twice. Turns out that what most of us believed to be true was true. He is eligible. If he wasn't, the qualifications would need some overhauling. His school and other factors are a lot better at PC than his alternatives. I realize that what is best for a young person isn't always the way it turns out when you have the "greater good" to manage. This should answer the questions that I saw posted except the best player question. Truth is, we don't have a best player this year. It took us a while to adjust to this fact when you had a Chase Richardson for 2 years. That is why we started out so slowly at 3 and 7. But we are OK now. We are not going to blow away very many people but we are going to scrap, hustle and make you beat us playing as a team. Good luck PC in the rest of the District Tournament.
  3. I am from Perry County and I watched both of the teams in the finals give the District 12 Teams a good butt whupping. I think Temple will win a good ball game. Greenfield has a a very good team and has had a great season but in will end Saturday one win short of the state championship. I know our team did not have their normal game. Some of it was caused by Temple's players. Wish we had played up to our potential. It would have been a classic duel with the team missing the last shot the loser. Good luck to both teams.
  4. I think it is amazing how much emotion gets generated by a contest between youg men. You would think the family fortune or something even more significant was at risk on the outcome. I haven't seen Temple play but I believe it will be the Gray/Skogen matchup that will be the single most deciding factor. If Jonathan can contain Skogen to 10 points or less, it will be a difference that could determine the winner. It is team defense that wins when two really good teams play. I can assure everyone that both teams have players that can bury the basketball if no one gets in their face. Good luck to both teams. (but I really would like to see Perry win)
