  1. The Unaka Lady Rangers won both of their games at the Pickett County Thanksgiving Classic. On Friday, they defeated the Pickett County Lady Bobcats 69-61. On Saturday, they defeated the Chattanooga Temple Lady Crusaders 56-42. The Lady Rangers were balanced in scoring and worked very well together as a team.
  2. It should be a year of surprises . . . in the summer leagues, Unaka surprised Elizabethton at Crossroads Christian during Summer League beating them by 4 points. Tonight at Hampton, Cloudland beat Unaka in the Jamboree and Hampton was doing well against North Greene. I realize you can't judge teams based on one game but that goes to show there may be a few surprises in Carter County this year. Good luck to all teams from Carter County!
  3. 830baller, NOW THAT'S FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!! One question, who did hampton beat that had a winning record?
  4. 1-A , Have they not tried this before? Didn't work out to well the last time!!!!!
  5. Congratulations Jessica Osborne and Lady Rangers . . . Let's go 6-0 from here and bring another gold ball to Stoney Creek!
  6. Congratulations to the AP's # 1 Class A Girls Basketball Team . . . The Unaka Lady Rangers. Just receiving the State's # 1 ranking at anytime in a high school career is a memorable and tough accomplishment. I know these girls will give their all "one game at a time" as they have all year. I also know they have worked hard and are glad to be in this position. We are proud of them even if they don't win another game . . . however, the "Ranger Nation" hopes they will be ranked #1 when it really counts . . . on Saturday evening, March 12 in the 'Boro!
  7. Renee Ensor of Unaka should be considered as she has led the team to a 26-1 record . . . hopefully she will help the Lady Rangers do better this year in the 'Boro and get the recognition she and the Lady Rangers deserve.
  8. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers who won their 26th game (only 1 loss) in their final regular season game 64-61 over the Volunteer Falcons. It was a special night for the "7 Super Seniors" . . . Kelly Allen, Danielle Ensor, Lacey Gouge, Renee Ensor, Jessica Osborne, Julie Roberson, & Coty Townsend. Congratulations Ladie and Coach Chambers and staff on a splendid regular season and best wishes in the upcoming post-season tournaments!
  9. Congratulations to the Unaka Lady Rangers who won their Conference Championship tonight with a big win over a classy Cloudland team. Both teams played hard and hopefully will both get to go "down the road" here pretty soon.
  10. OR , :ph34r the bulldogs are more BARK than BITE!!!!!
  11. I have primarily followed The Unaka Lady Rangers this year. They have several Seniors that should get a look and a chance to play at the next level . . . they include Coty Townsend, Rene Ensor, Danielle Ensor, Jessica Osborne, and Julie Roberson. One college in North Carolina invited these Seniors to a recent game to show their interest . . . all of them playing together is like having 6 players on the floor! Although very unlikely they will continue to play at the next level together, it shows what a great team they have this year and some college would be fortunate to get any one of them.
  12. Congratulations to Rene Ensor . . . how many point guards get 1,000 points and still play great TEAM ball . . . What an accomplishment for Rene and the 20-1 Lady Rangers.
  13. Rene Ensor of Unaka is the best guard I have seen over several years of watching girls basketball. She is Division 1 college material and totally dominated the game last night against Cloudland and run their record to 19-1 and 2nd in Class A in the state. College scouts should be following the Lady Rangers of Unaka as there are several college prospects.
  14. Unaka wins in a good game played by both teams . . . You Seniors toughed it out in the 4th Quarter tonight and demonstrated leadership and heart! Everyone on this team is a contributor and their teamwork and unselfishness is fun to watch . . . Keep taking one game at a time and enjoy this special season! Way to go Lady Rangers!
  15. Way to go Lady Rangers! Once again you showed what you are made of coming back and winning over a very quick CPA team! Congratulations to Tourney MVP Renee Ensor and all tourney selections Jessica Osborne, Danielle Ensor, and the rest of the team who went 3-0 on their way to becoming the 2005 Chattanooga Challenge Champions at Tennessee Temple University!
