What do u base your predictions on? Have you seen both districts play?

Ramsey did play well but her career high is in the high 20's low 30's i believe...this was just her season high. The Lady Tigers can only hope she will continue playing well and they can continue to get her the ball. Claiborne threw a box and 1 at her in the second half but it didnt phase her much. Totally different team than we saw at Claiborne, everyone was healthy this time and ready to go. Does the Claiborne County newspaper have a web site?

Pigeon Forge is finally playing well. Their defense threw Claiborne totally off guard and they couldnt recover from the first half. Parkey was held to 4, quite different from her 33 point outburst when the teams played at Claiborne. Basically, Pigeon Forge just took care of the ball and didnt turn it over. Should be an interesting district tournament.

I agree with you 100%. I think they need to get rid of these polls as soon as the tournaments start. These polls are based on Strength of Schedule plus Success. Betsy should be higher in the polls but their losses in the Ladies Classic hurt them as well as their schedule. The only thing that matters now is that they are on their way to Murfessboro. These polls mean nothing.

You are exactly right. Couldn't have said it better myself. I did not say Hopson was not a good player. I said she was a role player and that's what good teams have to have to be successful. She didn't have her best game in the game I saw her in. She is on a vetran team as a sophomore and has people around her who can score and will get their points every game. At this point in her career, this is not her role on the team. She can score but can not create her own shot like players like Rikki. That's the only point I was trying to make. By the way...junior high has nothing to do with high school basketball. One may be the leading scorer in junior high but in high school lead the team in assists. The same goes for college, there have been many great young women who have went on to the college level who scored at will in high school and now in college just play the role their coach recruited them for, and they win ball games. Example: Angela Phillips- Oak Ridge (Point guard at the University of Kentucky) Led the Lady Wildcats this year at point guard, being one of the two players to start every game. She dished out 102 assists compared to the 55 of the next closest player. She averaged 4.5 points a game, well below her high school average.

If I had seen OS play this year I would do the same. I haven't seen them in action this year. All I know is they have two very good transfers from Oak Ridge who are huge additions to their team with Hall being gone and all. I didn't say that Redd was a dirty player, just that she is physical. Actually I never said any of the players were dirty, just physical...HUGE difference.

The most important thing if Oliver Springs wants to win this game is a question of if they can match the physical play in the paint and keep Elizabethton off their backs and not get tied up. OS needs to go into the game knowing that Redd (45), their point guard, will play very physical on the outside as well. She will throw elbows during dead balls and will leap on anyone to get a loose ball and most of the time will not be called for a foul. OS: Do not let the officals get the best you. They will not call a good ball game and the fans will feel they are very one sided. Oliver Springs must keep their heads straight and not show any negative emotion. Crapps (21) can shoot lights out from beyond the arc if she is set. Hopson (25) was not very impressive. Just mainly a role player. Help off of her. Make her beat you. Rikki can go left and right but can not go nearly as hard to her left. She picks up a bunch of garbage just by being in the right place at the right time (and she does this well). The big girl inside gets upset very easily if she is called for a foul or is fouled hard herself. Be physical with her BEFORE she gets the ball because once she gets the ball they will call a foul if she puts it up.Good luck to both teams. May the best team win.

yea, their coach did pick it after the championship game. she went to the press box and told them who she wanted on the team. the other coaches had no say in the tournament. as for the regular season, yes the other coaches did pick the all tournament.

A guy from our baseball team went their last year and I believe he is playing there. Do you guys recruit alot of East Tennesse players or who mostly?

Yea. I only let my temper get the best of me one time this year but it was at a non district game. But then we beat them at home and their coach even appologized to me for his girls after the game and said he had gained respect for me in that game. I was just happy we won! You made some awesome plays against us in the 1st round of district! No offense but it just didnt seem like anyone else on your team was into it except you and sometimes the shortstop. I'm planning on going to the UT camp this summer as well as the Nike camp held at Tennessee Tech. I was going to go to the Alabama camp but it interfers with one of the others..i'm not sure which one though. Oh ya, do you guys have a new field at the new school?

thats awesome..i have cleared the fence in practice but thats it. our field is pretty big. we went up to see a game at volunteer between unicoi and elizabethon and i'd say just about everyone on our team coul clear that fence. it was tiny.. the fields in our district seem to be alot bigger. do you know who this is?

We will have 4 seniors next year. We don't have a bunch of girls on our team. Mostly freshman and 2 sophomores and the rest juniors this year. But losing those seniors after next year will be a big loss. Oh yea, question...the girl that went yard at your guys place...the grand slam...how many did she hit out this year and who else did?

Yep you guys should be tought next year. We lost two seniors this year although neither were in the starting line up.
