How far is her family willing to drive for practice?

I am bringing a team from Alabama to play in the tourney and have yet to recieve any brackets or locations of the games. Bama Bandits Basketball

I grew up in Lafayette and graduated from Macon Co. back in 91. I coach a team in Decatur, AL. It is about 3 hours from your area. I am always looking for the possibility of playing Tennessee teams because they are typically much stronger than those here in the North Alabama area. Having grown up a Macon Co. Tiger, I am used to seeing strong teams from Celina, Livingston, Jackson Co, etc... I want my girls to experience what it is like up there. We will actually be playing in at least two tournaments in Tennessee this year. We will be playing the Showtime Shootout in Shelbyville along with the Southeastern Shootout in Lawrenceburg.

Where are you based out of and how far are you willing to travel?

AE... I have not seen all of the Tigers games this year given the fact that I live in Alabama but I have made it to the last three. This team is built around it's defense. 10 of the 11 starters are seniors on the defensive side of the ball but that doesn't mean that the second team is weak. I can tell you that this team has more heart than any team I have ever seen or probably will ever see in the future. They have played mediocre the last two games and have found the way to come back and win against very good teams. If this game comes down to a field goal, I would place the money on the Tigers kicker to win it...HANDS DOWN!!! The coaching staff is well prepared each week and will have the kids ready for the speed and talent that they will face. It is hard to copy speed and talent but I believe that it is even harder to copy heart and tenacity!!! For waht it is worth, I believe that $7.00 is cheap for this game. I believe that the winner of this game barring any injuries will bring home the state title!!! See ya at the game.

Ms. Kitty...you are right...my blood does run blue and I am fired up for this game this week. I am counting the moments until I can leave Alabama and head that way for some good ole' Tennessee football...TIGERS STYLE!!! I have witnessed the three biggest wins in Macon Co. history in the last three weeks and I really don't want to see that streak come to an end. I look forward to seeing all you Tigers fans in Knox-vegas Friday...how about a little pregame tailgating? I can see a menu of Falcon stew and Falcon wings...sounds quite tasty!!! GO TIGERS 1....2....3.... HIT SOMEBODY....HIT ANYBODY....HIT EVERYBODY!!!! P.S. I hear that this will be an unofficial Class of '91 reunion!!!

Let quit with the comparisons to Howard....We are not playing Howard this week. The last time I looked we are playing Fulton who is 12 - 1 not 2 -8. It is true that Howard had some speed and that Fulton has some speed. But we just need to concetrate one what we can do as Tigers and not worry about what someone else can do. We can not force anything right now but once the game starts one team will dictate what the other team does and that is when the real game begins. Go Tigers and Hit Somebody!!!

Fulton fans....when will the ticket booths be open at the stadium....I hear that there will be no tickets on sale in Macon Co and that we must by them at the gate?

Good post, I agree. Your points were well spoken. hey splains, you coming to the game friday? just curious. Thanks.... I am proud of the boys from Macon. No team in the history of Macon Co. High School has ever made it this far. The closest we have come is a couple of trips by the girls basketball team and one by the boys team. There is a lot to say about this team and a lot more will be said following the end of the season. But between now and then, just keep your heads in the game, practice hard, listen to your coaches and above all play with the heart and soul that God gave you!!!

The great thing about this match-up is the lack of knowledge each team has about the other. Sure there will be game films traded and and game information given. But neither team will know what to expect from the other except for one thing....GOOD DEFENSE!!! Both teams know how to play good team defense, otherwise they wouldn't have made it this far. So as far as saying how big Macon is or how fast Fulton is...the real thing should be how great this match-up can possibly be. Sure trash talking is fun for the fans but in some instances it can make you look like an idiot. But lets all look at what both teams have accomplished thus far and look forward to the game this Friday night. What a way to bring in the holidays with a helping of Macon Co and Fulton high school football. Good luck to you guys Fulton and to our guys from Macon. May the best team win!!!

Well after listening to everyone...this will definitely be a contrast of styles according to the "experts". All I know is that the boys from Macon have something that goes a lot farther than talent a lot of the time and that is HEART. They have really shown that the last two weeks and I know they won't stop showing it this week. Good luck Tigers and Falcons. This should be a good game....a great offense vs. a great defense!!

There will be two buses for fans going up Friday. The cost is $25. I heard that yesterday morning and haven't heard anything else. Me personally...I amgoing to make that drive. Plans are to get up there early Friday afternoon and do a little pregame tailgating. Roadtrips for games like this are the best. Have made plenty in the past for basketball and the likes. This will be no different. GO TIGERS

Well it is on to another week of football for the Tigers and Falcons. I know that both teams will play hard and respect one another. I look forward to being in Knoxville for the game.
