C.J. Lewis at Hwt. might sneak in as well Hilltopper, Mike beat C.J. 8-1 last week in a match. Needless to say I was very surprised.

Mark is attending The University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne Indiana and playing football. He has a good shot at getting some playing time this year.

can't wait for Mike to wrestle C.J. hope Mark makes it back for that match.

actually Janeti is a she, and I have been at every Hillwood game for the past four years. The players would have definitely noticed me as I was part of a group of parents that fed them every week after the games. My bad on the year though Hilltopper, no insult to you or anything, just had my years messed up. I was more trying to defend the Toppers that just graduated such as yourself. Best of luck to you Hilltopper and see you at the wrestling tournament.

There were plently that could make a tackle, especially since most of the guys played and were starters on that playoff team. It was just a big difference in the jump to 5-A. And by the way, Hilltopper did not play for the 12-1 team. He sat out that year.

I graduated from Hillwood in 1981, and my sons attend there now. I can assure you that it is definitely not the same school. My older son graduates this year, and my younger one will not attend there next year. The school has gotten so bad that the Bellevue kids are choosing to go elsewhere (private schools). Best of luck to Coach Link who has been a great coach,father figure, and teacher to both of my sons.

The team lost at least 12 seniors , many that were 2 way starters . The 1-9 record from last year is certainly not an indication of the talent on the team , as many of these kids were starters on the previous 2 years playoff teams. Two starters signed to play college ball . With that being said, there is definitely some work to do but not entirely impossible.

I have to disagree with the comment of no parental support. As a parent of a senior and a freshman, you could not ask for more supportive football parents. The parents are very involved, feed the kids after every game as well as provide transportation for many of the kids after games. I feel pretty confident to say the administration wanted a change.

A couple of guys worth keeping an eye on at HWT. in region 6 besides Elston and Douglas are Vanderloop, a junior from Hillsboro who beat Douglas in a match last week , and Moore from Hillwood, a sophomore who beat Hudgins from Fairview and Gibbs from Cheatham. Both look to be doing pretty well this year.
