  1. I am an unbiased party in this but I must say CA better savor the flavor. I watched C-woods jr high girls play twice this year and they're gonna be a force in highschool. [Edited by tfranks24 on 2-13-03 8:34A]
  2. No xcat, but I can count how many games I've beat you at basketball over the past 3 weeks. [Edited by tfranks24 on 2-12-03 3:38P]
  3. I go back to a past post by thelma. With C-wood, you never really know what you're gonna get. This is very true. One game they can't miss...the next they can't buy a basket. When Calton and Bryant are on and the rest of the guys contribute... anything, they can upset anyone in 12A, and no one wants to be upset in the first round of the district tourney.
  4. Yes you are correct ol' hefty one. My mind plays tricks on me when I stay up that late.
  5. Congratulations to Sig as he scored 23 tonight enroute to beat Clifton scoring a career 1003 points. He did this despite the fact he didn't play his freshman year. Much props kid. Lead us through the district tourney.
  6. Like I figured, C-wood came to play and gave WC all we wanted. Justin Bryant is unreal and nearly single handedly beat us. No disrespect to any other player...Calton had an off night and still contributed. Big props to Lance Nutt who stepped up like the soldier he is. C-wood stuck to Sig like glue and Lance played like a champ. My boy JD, like always, made the big shots and steals when we needed them. York stunk it up and made some free throws when the game was on the line. All around great effort guys. Carry it into the 12A tournament. Thanks for the pics tsf, these kids could use more fans like you.
  7. T As of now the game is on...I'll keep you posted. Waynesboro is losing Miller and Gallian this year. JD, York and Mosley will be seniors, Lance Nutt will be a junior. Hammonds will be a soph. That is the main one's who play a lot this year. We also have CJ Hammack who will be eligible to play as a soph. and if you remember him in jr high, he will be a huge addition to our guards esp after losing Miller. There are also some other young guys worth mentioning who will definitely add to the depth of our roster. And Daniel Warren will also be a freshman who will get quite a bit of playing time next year.
  8. Thelma, As far as C-wood surprising you, I am in total agreement with you. I have said it all year. I didn't mean to step on anyones toes about Bryant moving to WCHS, even though I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish he would. The fact is I never got into the hating on C-wood.I actually made quite a few friends at UNA with some C-Wood guys (including you). I do think if we had Bryant we would have an excellent chance at the big dance for the next couple of years. I think its about time Wayne County produced a boys state championship team.
  9. coachbd is dead on with his statement. C-wood's bench may be the deciding factor. The fact is, C-wood is not a definite win for anybody (even PC) but their depth or lack there of may beat them. ALL the wildcats need to contribute to seal the win. I just hope sickboy Byrd doesn't get shingles or something.
  10. You know I can respect the loyalty to your school and all that but heck, this kid has a college career ahead of him and I guarantee you he could shine bright in Waynesboro for the next two years.
  11. It depends...Is Calton a senior? I think he is. If they lose him they'll have Bryant and not much to go with him (that I know of). Its a shame too. Bryant is a balla. Wish he lived about 12 miles north of C-wood.
  12. Ok whats everyone think about this inter-county rivalry this Friday night.
  13. My,my thanks for the words of encouragement but what happened to WC being a "subpar team with 4 for sure losses left"? Or did this count as an upset?
  14. Yes, congrats to Myers and the Lady Cats for their success so far. I know my posts are usually on the boys board for obvious reasons but I'm pulling for the Lady Cats too in their quest for the gold ball this season.
  15. Yes, all the Wildcats contributed in this game, and thats what its takes to beat teams like Santa Fe. Congrats to the Cats. Get your minds right for the big C-wood game this Friday night.
  16. Admitting it is the first step towards recovery.
  17. I'd put money down that realwildcat is not from Santa Fe....that is why I did not reply to an idiot post like that. Dickie V your post was just as dumb. Bottom line, this game could go either direction. I think it will go to who jumps out with the early lead and doesn't have to play catchup the whole game.
  18. 101 if you knew me and/or asked some of the players on the team, you would find that I am their biggest critic and am objective of everything they do on the court...privately. I choose to put a positive spin on their efforts publicly because some of these players are family or like family and I think you should keep those types of comments "in the family". Me putting objective comments about Wayne Co. on a public board would achieve nothing but causing problems. You are right though, my posts are biased towards WC but who isn't towards their team. I appreciate your positive comments toward our team. We need all we can get.

  20. Well, well I see I have a few critics of my posts. And as always, I do have a rebuttle. 101 your post makes sense as MP is not a very strong team this year but you build off the good things you do when you haven't been playing well and we did some good things against MP. And yes my boy Sig is Brad Miller. And he and JD are two great guards in the region and I think in the entire single A. Critic12A first off I said its the best record since 94 so that would be 9 years. If you have been watching 12A basketball for the last 25 years you must have took the first half of this season off because we beat 5 out of the last 6 teams we play earlier this year so exactly what did you base that statement on. And I don't believe that congratulating your team for actually having a winning season counts as shooting off at the mouth. These guys have turned around WC b-ball and they deserve every bit of praise they get. I never said we'll be in Murfy town or anything, I am just pround of how far we have come. Please respond because I am enjoying this.
  21. WC won again against MP convincingly by 11 points. WC looked to have regained some confidence in this one on Mt Pleasants floor. I hope this is a turning point for the Wildcats last few stagnant starts. Mosely came off the bench and sparked us in the 2nd half with some key steals and baskets. JD Byrd and Sig contributed largely as usual. Great job wildcats. You all looked fired up tonight and ready to play. Big home games next week. Lets string a few wins together before tournament time. Oh yeah and has anyone noticed that the Wildcats are 15-7. That is like the best record since 94. Its been a long time coming huh.
  22. I know but if you click on his user name he put his hometown as Waynesboro. Too bad, that would have been the most intelligent post on here.
  23. Ok this years team is good and all and I think RIchardson is a good ball player but to say that he is 2 times the player Haston was is absolutely ridiculous. Haston went to Indiana and is in the NBA folks, RIchardson might get a scholarship to a division II school. I don't say this to disrespect Richardson because I think he is the best in our district this year. Also 97's team would wax those teams from the past. Kids are bigger, faster, and stronger these days. Highschool posts used to be 6'2 and slow. Now they are 6'5 to 6'8 with speed.
  24. No I think living with you guys in Florence in college made me an old fogey, it took about 15 years out of me. And I must point out to everyone that oldschoolers couldn't have a more fitting name, he is old and he is still in school. Well enough of the pot shots. Wildcat007, why would your team be Santa Fe when your hometown is Waynesboro? And on a b-ball related note, I think our boys will be ready tonight. They are definitely due.
  25. Except for your first sentence, your statement is totally validated. Any team in district 12-A is capable of pulling an upset on any given night. However I don't think that makes it a weak district. Right now Perry Co. is the most complete team from guard to post and everyone else is pretty much on again off again. I personally think that makes you more dangerous because teams go into games against you with a false sense of confidence and end up getting beat. As for me I think PC will advance and its a toss up with everyone else in 12A
