Enrollment is all that matters in classification, but I wish size of city somehow was considered. Take Union City, for example, who is a Class A school, but UC has a population of 10,000 ppl. It's not the only high school there, so I'm guessing kids choose where they enroll, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if your kid excels in basketball to go to the school where that sport is successful. Most class A schools have a 3,000 or less city population. Not taking anything away from UC; they were very deserving champions this year. That's the problem with privates as well..most are in the larger cities such as Nash, Memphis, Knox, so when choosing a school, of course you're gonna choose the one that excels in your sport. And, if an undesirable student shows up at a public school to enroll, they have to enroll them. If an undesirable student shows up at a private school to enroll, they don't have to
Enroll them.
