  1. Its people like you that make it hard for Tullahoma fans to pull for Columbia in the post-season. I still hope the Lions make it to the State tournament, because I have a lot of admiration and respect for Coach Pickle. I know how hard he's worked for the past several years and he's been an outstanding coach for a long time. I realize fans like you are in the minority. There's no doubt Columbia is a better baseball team than Tullahoma. The Lions have proved that on the field, but Tullahoma has come a long way from a team that won only 5 games the previous season. A win tonite would give the Cats 30 wins on the season and a trip to the State tournement. Coffee Co is a bigger rivalry for the Cats, but I haven't seen any Red Raider fans on Coach T bashing Tullahoma. This is one of the biggest baseball games in the history of Coffee Co, if not the biggest. Coach Chase Jones is one of the most underated coaches in Middle Tn and I'm sure the Cats will get their best effort. If the Coffee Co wins and goes to the State, then I wish them the best of luck. Coach Brad White and his assistant coaches are to be congratulated on getting Tullahoma back where the program used to be during Coach Jerry Mathis tenure.
  2. The game between Spring Hill at White House is definitely on for Sat at 6:30pm, or at least thats when the umpires will be there.
  3. Congratulations to Eagleville and Coach Travis Moore(ex Tullahoma grad) for winning the Region championship. Good luck on getting to the State tourney.
  4. Tullahoma did their part in losing to Columbia and congrats to Coffee Co in beating Soddy Daisy to make this dream game possible. This is great for both teams and its too bad one team will get to go to Murf and one team won't. It should be a great gate and I hope the rain stays away. Coffee Pot baseball game, who woulda thunk it.
  5. Someone told me that Bartlett got only 1 hit, but got 3 runs. I'm sure someone can verify that info.
  6. District 8AAA sweeps 7AAA for the first time since 2004. I would like to take credit for that info, but David Limbaugh supplied me with that information. Columbia won 8-5 and they played at Columbia St, so I assume Tullahoma will play Columbia Wed nite at Columbia St, because they have lights. If Columbia beats Tullahoma and Coffee Co beats Soddy Daisy, the sectional game would be Tullahoma vs Coffee Co, probably at Manchester. I know that is a lot of ifs, but it would be neat. The main thing is win or lose, Columbia and Tullahoma and Coffee Co get to play Friday.
  7. Shaq was an excellent baseball umpire for me before he took the softball coaching job at Grundy Co. There's no doubt he did an excellent job as coach at Grundy Co. He was a little bit controversial with umpires as a coach, like some other good coaches I know. His passion for the game and players caused those problems, but we'll definitely be happy with Shaq back on the umpiring circuit and look forward to working with him as umpires. He'll be an asset to us.
  8. The Tullahoma Wildcats accomplished another goal set for this season. They earn a trip to the Region tournament by thumping the Lawrence Co Wildcats this evening 10-5 in Winchester in the losers brackett finals of the 8AAA baseball tourney. Tullahoma and Columbia meet at 4pm Wed in the championship game with Tullahoma needing to beat Columbia twice to win the tourney. A 2nd game, if necessary, will follow around 7pm. Win or lose Wed, its good to see the Cats back in the Region tournament and I hope both Columbia and Tullahoma do well down the road. I think the Cats record is 30-8.
  9. A berth in the Region tournament is on the line tonite for Tullahoma and Lawrence Co in the losers bracket finals. Game time in Winchester is 5pm, weather permitting.
  10. Congratulations Mack. You have done a remarkable job over the years at Oakland and have done it with class.
  11. Beech is looking for a team to play tonite at Grider Stadium in Tullahoma for a 7:30pm game. Blackman is playing Tullahoma at 5pm and Beech needs to find a team to play after that game. Contact Tullahoma coach Brad White at 931-242-3987 ASAP.
  12. Columbia looks to be the best team in district 8AAA. I'm not saying that Tullahoma couldn't possibly beat them, because they can, but the Lions can hit as good as any team I've seen around here and their pitching is solid. They have played a tougher schedule and Coach Pickle is still doing a great job, as always. The Cats have LaVergne and Beech coming up and end the season with Oakland and Coffee Co. I see maybe 2-2 record after those games, but that competition hopefully will get them ready for tournament play.
  13. Who pitched for Tullahoma? Honea pitched for Tullahoma. The game was won in the first inning when the Lions scored 7 runs. There were a couple of errors mixed in with some timely hits and the Cats couldn't recover. There is really nothing on the line for Wednesdays game, except some confidence for Tullahoma going into the district tournament, if they can win at home. Game time is 6pm. Congrats to Columbia for winning the regular season and the Cats did make a good run for the regular season championship. I hope both teams finish out the season on a good note. Its a whole new season when the district tournament starts, but from what I saw today, the Lions should be the favorite.
  14. As of 1:20pm, the Tullahoma at Columbia game is still on. The team left at 1pm.
  15. I agree with you David. Tullahoma wouldn't have seen Oaklands best pitcher with Riverdale coming up in district 7AAA play and Oakland wouldn't have gotten the Cats best with Columbia coming up Tuesday and Wed.
  16. The cancellation was probably a good thing, since its prom nite. I'm not sure how focused everyone would have been. I do hope they can play at a later date.
  17. Tullahoma achieved another goal that Coach White had for this years team. The Cats get a bye in the district tournement. It was definitely a big win for Tullahoma and a tough loss for the Rebels. Its a brand new season when the tournament starts. Sometimes when things go wrong, it snowballs and that's the way it went for the Rebels. The loss last nite was a wake-up call for the Cats and they were ready. Congrats to Tullahoma and good luck to the Rebels the rest of the way.
  18. One district loss and your ready to jump off the"Band Waggon". Lets get real. Two errors in the 2nd inning was the difference in the ball game. And as for Roepke loosing the game. ... Thats insane. He pitched a very good game. Gave up two runs in the 1st but after that he got settled in and didnt give up an earned run for 4 innings. Tullahoma also could nt get the bats going in big situations. 2nd and 3rd no outs and coming up empty hurts any team. Tonights game is big test for the Cats but I think after all that happened last nite, they will be ready and the "Waggon" doors will be open for those who wanna get on or "Jump Off"! I'm a THS graduate and always want the Cats to do well, so I'm not jumping off any bangwagon, win or lose. I'm also a long time umpire and have friends in baseball all over the state, including Franklin Co. I'm mainly interested in the umpires doing a good job and may the best team win.
  19. The Cats 17 game winning streak is over. Wednesdays game with the Rebels is now a battle for a bye in the district tourney. Tullahoma can still win the regular season title, but must win tomorrow nite against the Rebels and sweep Columbia. Franklin Co is a good solid team and led from start to finish. Is Tullahoma contenders or pretenders? We'll find out Wed nite. Start time at Grider Stadium is 5:30pm.
  20. I didn't attend the game, so I don't any of the particulars. Tullahoma won their 15th straight game beating Obion Co today in the Tullahoma Invitational tourney 11-7. I think they play 2 games on Sat with Marshall Co as one of their opponents. I think Galatin is the other. All of their tournament games are at Grider Stadium. The Cats overall record is now 20-3.
  21. The Tullahoma Wildcats won their 14th straight game and are 19-3 on the season as they defeated White House 9-4 last nite in the Tullahoma Invitational baseball tournament. Cale Greenway relieved Austin Brown with the score tied at 4-4 and pitched 4 scoreless innings for the Cats.
  22. Tullahoma 12 Lincoln Co 2 in 5 innings. The Cats are now 18-3. Jordan Milleville continues to impress the coaches with another fine performance on the mound and at the plate. The lowest batting average amongst the starters is .375. Tullahoma is winning the games they are supposed to win, but the schedule gets much tougher. The Cats are now 6-0 in district games. Franklin Co beat Shelbyville 5-3 and the Rebels and Cats tangle next week. I think the Rebels are 4-2 in the district.
  23. Comparing Tullahoma with Columbia. Tullahoma has the better record at 17-3 compared to Columbia at 11-8, but Columbia has played the tougher schedule. The Cats schedule gets tougher at the end with LaVergne, Oakland and Beech plus the series with Columbia and Franklin Co. I would rate the Tullahoma-Columbia games as a toss-up at this point. Of course, I picked Kentucky to win the NCAA bkb tourney and we all know what happened. I never underestimate Coach Pickle and the Lions in baseball. They are real competitive every season, but the Cats are building momemtum heading down the stretch.
  24. Its also interesting that Tullahoma has played 15 road games compared to only 4 home games. Unlike the past several seasons, the Cats have hardly any games that have been rained out and rescheduled. I'm happy for Coach Brad White, who endured lots of criticism the past 2 years. Where are those people now? Keep up the good work Cats.
  25. Tullahoma beat Giles Co and lost to Cornersville on Friday.
