Over the last several years, many people , probably including me a couple of times, have posted that this is the week that Maryville goes down. Who knows, it might be. But. I don't think so. Maryville's too good to lose to Greeneville even if Greeneville has its best game of the season. 73 games in a row. Think about that. Before that loss in 2003, I think Maryville won 40 games in a row. They will not overlook Greeneville. Good luck to our brothers from Blount County.

Curious. How has each district tournament turned out this decade. Everybody gets so caught up with school size and classifications. You know, the last time I checked, a team could have only 11 players on the field at a time. Maybe classification should be based on the number of players on a team instead of how many students are enrolled. Maryville is better than many 5A teams, including, I hate to say WB. I believe that Maryville would soundly beat Ooltewah this year, and would give Oak Ridge better competition than most 5A teams would. I've seen several teams this season that have more players on their roster than Maryville has. Who cares how many students go to a school? At least 1/2 are girls anyway.

Early on I thought Maryville and Heritage were going to dominate. Now I think that it will be between Farragut, Heritage , and William Blount in 4AAA. Maryville will not be a factor at all.

This whole proposal is about the stupidist thing I ever heard of. So, with my tongue firmly in my cheek, I suggest we do away with high school sports altogether. Let AAU, travel ball, and communities run all sports programs. Then, TSSAA would not have any more opportunities to mess up our beloved sports programs at the high school level. Schools could rent out their stadiums, gyms, fields, and other facilities to the highest bidder.

Does anybody know anything about this game yet? How did it turn out?

Bearden is really struggling this year without Sally Gale. Faragut has lost two in arow, but are very good. Maryvile is a run scoring machine. They also have some new pitches that wil make them hard to beat down the stretch. WB has done very well after losing to Maryville, beating Bearden big, and Faragut 1-0 in 10 innings, and South Doyle yeterday.

The WB-Maryville JV game was called after two innings. That's not really what I would call a complete game.

Which Knoxville area coaches in AAA are really tough when it comes to team preparation and in game strategy?

Living in Blount County and working for the city of Maryville, I've heard more than I'd like to hear about Maryville's football dominance, but they have earned their due by being so successful. They sure have whipped us for as long as I can recall. Maryville fans always talk about how good their athletic teams are, but isn't this true mainly in football only. Has any other Maryville team in any sport other than football ever even made it to state more than once in the last 15 or 20 years? I can't think of any.

Does anyone know if this game is still on for today?
