Thanks for the support Wimpy. My family would love for me to move home but I am just going to go wherever the best opportunity is. I do trust that God has a plan and can make this work out even better than I had imagined. I also hope the best for JCS. There are some great kids there and they need someone who will bring out the best in them.

The football part is that they need more assistant football coaches. A new coach could help with football and do basketball. The guy they really want is the boys assistant. If he accepts it, they can hire one assistant for the boys and one for the girls that can both help with football. I cannot fill those positions. Many coaching needs and not enough coaches.

I could sum it up with this- private school politics. I dont have any familiy members on the board and I dont coach football. I guess every school has its politics to deal with but a private school seems to be more dependent on parental support and sometimes money/influence talks loud.

It is possible to fully fund a team of 15 if some of the players get finacial aid or academic scholarships. This frees up some money to give to other players. That is how Freed and Union do it. The difference for them is that some good players are willing to go there for pocket change just to be a part of a good program. If CU gets the program going in the right direction, they will pull more talent for less money.

I am/was the coach of that JCS team. I am glad to know that someone else thought we had a decent year. I hope there will be some other opportunities to coach in West Tn. This is a great area with a lot of talent.
