  1. Well trojanfan56, OC didn't get dominated on both sides of the ball. The Rebel defense was outstanding. Ripley scored on a short 16 yard drive after an interception and returned the opening kickoff of the second half but other than that they got very little. The Rebel defense got three turnovers with interceptions by Matt Craddock and Bryan Fox and a fumble recovery by Zack Clouse. The Rebels had a "refuse to lose" attitude. Garrett Grady strapped the team on his back and carried the Rebs to a huge victory. Though the season didn't turn out like we wanted, I wouldn't take a million dollars for tonight. Congratulations to all the seniors, especially my nephew Matt Craddock #4. Thanks for all the memories my friend!
  2. I'm not gonna run from that. He had 326 yards and four touchdowns. Terrible defensive effort on our part. However our offense put up 44 points in that game and got the win, the most important statistic. MATT'S UNCLE.
  3. Ripley's defense is not as good as Dyersburg's. As a matter of fact, it's very similar to the Rebels. It has looked spectacular agaisnt overmatched opponents (i.e. Manassas, Hillcrest, and Treadwell for Ripley and Gibson Co., Union City, and Chester Co. for the Rebels). And it has looked awful agaisnt more talented opposition ( there are several teams I could plug in here but I'll use Crockett as they gave both teams there worst defeat by 28 and 35 respectively). Both teams should of beat Haywood but wound up beating themselves. And just because Ripley played Dyersburg close does not make them that far superior to Obion Central. You can't judge one game from another. Ripley will be bigger and have more speed than the Rebels which is nothing new as they have faced that most of the year. Ripley may win big but I don't see it happening. If I'm wrong, you can be sure I'll man-up and admit I was wrong.
  4. Two years ago in a Trenton Peabody vs Obion Central game our QB Logan Parker faked a handoff to Cole Clanton on a triple option play. Cole was piled up at the line of scrimmage and the whistle was blown. But, standing in the endzone with the ball was Logan Parker. The fake was so good that the refs thought Cole had the ball and never realized Logan had it on a keeper. We were not given the TD and that sent the Rebel fans, including myself, into a frenzy. It didn't cost us the game though. We won 28-20.
  5. This has gotten a little out of hand. First off I wanna comment that myself nor any other Rebel suppoters wear "pink panties". I make no excuses for the loss to Dyersburg. They just plain and simple beat us. They are a terrific ball team that is well coached and hope them or somebody else from 7-3A brings a gold ball back from the 'boro. Now about the comment about being "cocky" and thinking "your better than everyone else". I personally think it's one in the same. So on that I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Some, not all, Trojan fans fit in that category. My comment was made out of total aggrivation. I personally think we are better than our 5-4 record and how we played agaisnt D'burg. This season hasn't turned out like I hoped and thought and it would. But that's the way it goes sometimes. My nephew is a senior this season and has been a starter for two years now. He and these other boys have given everything they've got to the program to make it better and it hurts to see them come up short again. And when I see shots taken at the program I take it personally. We don't have the athletes like the Dyersburg's,Haywood's, Covington's, and Crockett Co.'s. But the boys give everything they got and for that I wouldn't take any team in the world over them. All I've got to say after that is best of luck to the Trojan team and the rest of 7-3A. All of y'all have a shot at making a deep run in the playoffs. Make us all proud! GO REBELS AND GET 'EM #4!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  6. It seems like yesterday we were in Union City for that first freshman game. My brother said it was the beginning of the end. He was right. Next week will be the end of football for these seniors. A special thanks to all the seniors for there hard work and dedication for four years. And a special thanks to my nephew, #4 Matt Craddock. Thanks for all the memories bud! You've been a good one!
  7. It's because of comments like this by mg and trojans fan 04 that people don't cheer on Dyersburg. I have had it up to my eyeballs with there cocky "I'm better than you attitude". You know you dominated OC last night and that's a credit to Coach Counce and his staff having his team prepared and not letting them be distracted by homecoming. I have nothing but respect for the players and coaches of Dyersburg. But the fans on here are a different story. You can't just let it be. You have to ag it on. You can't just let your teams performance be enough. And forget about giving credit if you happen to lose. All I read after the Crockett Co. game was how you were only down by seven with two minutes to go. You know we were only down by six to Covington and two to Haywood with two minutes to go but guess what, WE LOST! We accepted it and moved on. And you can go ahead and talk about how OC hasn't won much in its history. Nine winning seasons in 46 years and only eight trips to the playoffs with only one win. That's fine I can't argue with it. But our guys bust there butts and play with all they have every game. We don't have those kids with the blazing speed like the Dyersburg's,Covington's, and Crockket Co's. So be grateful you have those kids. I seen a saying at the Dyersburg game I liked that said "Together We Attack". The players have bought into it. Now there fans on coacht need to adopt this one, "Be gracious in victory and humble in defeat"!
  8. It won't sound the same without Jim calling the game for UC while he's recovering from his heart attack. He's a terrific broadcaster. I believe he was doing the play by play for Obion Central when they won the AA basketball title in 86' with Cannon Whitby. He's also called all four Union City basketball championships.
  9. Here's a great website of pictures from Obion Central's football games. http://www.photostockplus.com/home.php?event=53508
  10. Injuries had nothing to do with that loss or the one at Covington. Fumbles at inopportune times cost the Rebels both games. The first five games of the season I can hardly remember a fumble and the last two I bet we've put it on the ground ten times. The Rebels have beaten themselves the last two weeks, plain and simple. Is it going to be extremely tough to get in the playoffs? Yes! Impossible? No!
  11. I agree with you about it being emotional. It will be the last time I get to see my nephew #4 Matt Craddock at home in a Rebel uniform. From his days at Lake Road as "Coon Dawg" until now has brought me so much enjoyment. He has been a good player for the Rebel program over the past couple of years and I will miss coming to watch him play when this season is over. Go out there and get em' "Coon Dawg"!
  12. You know we have one advantage going into week seven that we haven't had in a couple years- a healthy Garrett Grady!
  13. Both teams have excellent speed. Covington has an outstanding defense. They are not huge, but they are extremely quick. I'll go with Covington by 3.
  14. Westview 21-7. Westview has one of the toughest defenses in West TN. The most points they've given up in a game was 14 in their only loss of the season to Huntingdon.
  15. Try this link. Hopefully it will help. http://www.facingthegiants.com/
  16. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's the only movie I've ever been to where people cheered and clapped with the movie. I recomend everyone see this movie. It proves that you don't have to have foul language and explicit content to make a great movie.
  17. Well VOREBS, you know as well as I do that this Haywood bunch is gonna be massive up front just as they were last year. The Rebels last year could not run the ball at all on the Tomcats. I believe to be successful this year, Coach Bowling is gonna have to put a few new wrinkles in the offense. Maybe pass a few more times to loosen Haywood up. The Dyer Co. game proved that Coach could come up with some different things to come up with a win. But it is important not to get away from Rebel football like we did in the Crockett game. A defensive effort like the one agaisnt Covington coupled with two or three scores from the offense should provide a Rebel win.
  18. Like you said at the game backinthaoc, it gets tiring playing so well and still coming up short. But,one of these days we're gonna get over that hump.
  19. Thanks for the compliment CHARGERFAN. All we're looking for is a little respect and for people to realize that we are not an automatic win on there schedule anymore. Best wishes to Covington next week agaisnt Dyersburg and we'll try to get back on track agaisnt Haywood.
  20. The junior highs have some outstanding talent coming up. I hope Coach Bowling stays with the Rebels for many years because he is an outstanding coach and will turn this Rebel program into a winner year in and year out.
  21. Hey Covington fans I have a question? What radio station will carry the OC-Covington game since we won't be able to pick up the dynamic duo of Russell Barker and Danny Carr on 104.9 K Y T N.
  22. The announcers for Union City said on the radio they never thought in there lifetimes that they'd see Obion Central beat Union City to the flanks. Coach Bowling said in the paper tonight that Hunter's running reminded him of Brian Kissel's. And all of us Rebel fans remember how great a runner Brian was.
  23. I appreciate the comment westview4life07. But I doubt we're faster than Covington. We're usually not blessed in the speed department. Though if Chase and Hunter can break past the secondary they are hard to catch.
  24. Obion Central is averaging 32 points a game this season. I'm sure not the most in the state, but very impressive none the less.
