Mine was working during the other game but now it is not, any update on the Seymour/Ezell game?

First of all I have nothing to do with either team but if you are going to taunt somebody you need to get your facts straight. Oliver Springs are not the Eagles, they are the Lady Bobcats.

To any Oliver Springs fans that are still in town, where is OZBALLER12 playing college ball at? Hadn't heard anything about her. I loved the way she played the game.

Thanks DevilFan. She had a great game and the team is playing great team ball. The girls did a good job getting her the ball and she did what she needed to with it. She was 13 of 15 from the field and 13 of 14 from the free throw line. No matter what happens Monday night we are very proud to be in the Sweet 16. Congratulations to all the State tournament winners and to those who made it to the state. Also to the Ms Basketball finalists and winners.

Laura Hall from Oliver Springs and Brooke Johnson from Seymour have to be on the list for their respective schools. I know they both hold many school records and even some state ones. Both led their teams to the state tourney twice in their careers and I think both made it to the final four both times. I know they both made it to the final four in 2004. Laura is having a great career at UTC and Brooke at CN.

I have a favor to ask of anybody that reads this and knows me personally. Brooke and I had planned on going down to the tournament this week but thankfully they are playing in the NCAA Div. 2 tournament this weekend. She would really like to have a program from the tournament. If you are going and you know us, could you let me know? I know this is silly but I didn't know any other way to get this answered. I was planning on PF making it or us going. Thanks.

Wow, that South Greene game as a Freshman, she had a triple double that night with a broken middle finger, but the team lost. South Greene was a better team. And to Greeneville and Coach Burkey. Good luck in the state, bring one back to East Tn.

WesCharge, just wondering about something. How did AE blowing the win against JC cost Westview a gold ball?

I do not have a dog in this fight but as I sit and read these posts, it reminds me so much of last year as we were preparing to go to state. Everybody has their favorite player and everybody has their opinion of that player. The thing that disturbs me is everybody judging these players by what college they are going to. Like Barb said, these girls make their decisions based on several things. Last year it was my daughter they were judging. Everybody from East TN. that had seen her play was on here talking about how good she was and everybody from West Tn that had not seen her play wanted to know why if she was so good was she going to CN. She tied the state record for points in a game last year at the state tournament. She also broke two state records in that game. I think she proved herself. Her choice to go to CN was based on several things. One was being close to home, one was to maybe make a difference in a program, among other things. She could have went to several D1 schools. Now that their season is winding down, it looks like she made a very good choice. She has recd. Freshman of the Year, Co-Player of the Year, (first time this has ever happened) and tournament MVP in her conference. But most importantly, her team went from being a below .500 team to winning their SAC tournament and are on their way to the NCAA div. 2 tournament. When they were picked to finish 5th. And she is getting a great education. As for Lyons, she is a great player as I am sure Dyersburg has great players. I am sure both teams will come prepared to play. It is the state tournament. All teams that have made it this far have so much to be proud of. They are all winners whether they win a game at the state or not. Can we not just let the games be played without bashing the girls? As I said, I do not have a dog in this fight, just trying to put an unbiased opinion on this post. Hope I didn't step on any toes.

And a very good announcer at that. You did a great job over the last two weeks. It is nice to hear an announcer give the credit to the assist makers as well as the scorers. Good Job!

Big Show, I agree. I have always thought that about Burkey. He is a great coach. Greeneville is a lucky school, they have two great coaches.

Just a bump in the road Lady Tigers. Keep your heads up, you can still get to state. Just keep doing what got you here to the sub-state game. Sub-state games can be won on the road. Remember two years ago when Seymour had to go to Unicoi Co. and nobody thought they could possibly beat them in their own gym, well they were wrong. It can be done. Good Luck Sat. night.

I am a Seymour fan. No, my other daughter did not change schools but she is not involved in sports. I pull for our county teams to do well and PF has the most talent in the county this year. Not to put Seymour down, they are just young. Give them another year of playing without the main players they lost last year. All 6 of them. And thanks about Brooke but I really didn't think she had any friends in OS!!

Too bad Lady Eagles. Keep your heads up, you are young and have a lot of young talent. Keep working this summer and get ready for next year. Good Luck Lady Tigers, I know you are playing by now but I am a little late getting on here today. I hope to check it when I get home from the CN game and make sure you won. I am like the other person that said I hate to see one of these two teams go home but have to pull for PF. They remind me a lot of the team that graduated Seymour last year. Girls that have been together for a long time and just have the right chemistry with each other. Good Luck all the way, Brooke and I are wanting to make a trip to the Boro to watch you play.
