Hendersonville still gets no respect. There are no better players (defensively and hitting) than 1st base-Les Lambert, shortstop-Matt Reynolds, 3rd base-Jeff Whitaker, and right field-Wilson Tucker. Tucker is the only one signed(Belmont). They all batted around .400 or better against the best pitching most every team had including the state tournament. It amazes me that colleges don't come knocking their door down. There are no better hitters anywhere. These guys were the 1,3,4,5 hitters in Hendersonville's lineup. They hit 9,9,6, and 14 homeruns respectively. Each one had over 35 rbi's. Add Junior David Richardson, catcher batting 2nd, who is never mentioned anywhere in any pole, and you just wonder. Hendersonville had a great pitching staff, and the three senior pitchers are going to college somewhere. If these hitters can hit the best pitching in the state, why can't college scouts see that. There are some good players in the state, but none any better than seniors REYNOLDS, TUCKER, WHITAKER, LAMBERT. Thanks for the memories, guys.
