Hendersonville still gets no respect. There are no better players (defensively and hitting) than 1st base-Les Lambert, shortstop-Matt Reynolds, 3rd base-Jeff Whitaker, and right field-Wilson Tucker. Tucker is the only one signed(Belmont). They all batted around .400 or better against the best pitching most every team had including the state tournament. It amazes me that colleges don't come knocking their door down. There are no better hitters anywhere. These guys were the 1,3,4,5 hitters in Hendersonville's lineup. They hit 9,9,6, and 14 homeruns respectively. Each one had over 35 rbi's. Add Junior David Richardson, catcher batting 2nd, who is never mentioned anywhere in any pole, and you just wonder. Hendersonville had a great pitching staff, and the three senior pitchers are going to college somewhere. If these hitters can hit the best pitching in the state, why can't college scouts see that. There are some good players in the state, but none any better than seniors REYNOLDS, TUCKER, WHITAKER, LAMBERT. Thanks for the memories,guys.

Farragut is not overhyped and I pulling for them the whole way after they beat us twice (Hendersonville).

I am a Hendersonville parent, and I agree with Slyder. Riverdale coaches and fans are a class act just like Farragut. In my opinion you did not make the final 8 by accident, just look at what you accomplished. Good luck next year and good luck to Oakland against Munford. RIVERDALE did not whine and threaten our boys when they lost to us at home, just like we did not cry about losing to a good Blackman team. I totally respect the Riverdale players coaches and fans. they treated us very good when we were there.

Farragut deserves to be #1. They are a class act on and off the field. Good parents and fans. Though I wish Hendersonville had won, we played our best against their best. I am a parent of one of the players and I am very proud of our team. No excuses here. Farragut deserves it. Good luck no matter who they play on Saturday. I had just read on another post that our team were not good sports, but that is wrong. We were picked 4th in our district and overlooked in all of the District awards, even though we won our District. Our boys just decided to go out and have fun and play. And we did. We knocked off Riverdale and Houston.

You cannot tell who is going to win because the midstate has beat up on each other. Hendersonville has split with Mt. Juliet, beat Oakland by 7, beat Riverdale by 4, swept Brentwood, beat Lavergne 4 out of 5, won their district by beating Mt. Juliet by 7, losing to Mt. Juliet in the regionals by 3, and so on. Every one else in the Mid state has had the same problem of playing each other. Good luck to all of the midstate teams, including Oakland, because they don't back down from anyone. It is hard to have as good a record as Farragut, but bragging about beating Mt. Juliet one game is RIDICULOUS. Let Farragut play any one of the midstate schedules and I don't believe their record would be as good. Still, my vote is for Farragut until we prove them wrong.

I am not from Mt. Juliet, but I think they are the best team in their bracket. In the other bracket, the stronger team will prevail. You can throw all the hype and stats and talk out the window. Anybodys ballgame. Any one of the four teams could win.

There is a fine line between arrogance and being cocky, and having class and confidence. I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that way about Oakland. Oakland has a great tradition so I don't understand why they are such jerks on the field (most fans and players). They don"t win with class and make excuses and whine when they lose. Still, if you prove me wrong, I will admit it and not cry and want to fight about it. Good Luck in the tournament, you deserve to be there. Oakland is a good team, but don't ask me, just ask them.

Good job Oakland, but you won't get past Riverdale anyway. Riverdale has to much class and talent to lose to Oakland this year in the playoffs.

Be ready for the boos and name calling by Oakland fans and players. Shortstop is a troublemaker. Good luck to Columbia or anyone else who plays Oakland. p.s.---they enjoy being the instigators

This is not a knock on pitchers, but many low e.r.a.'s and wins come from defense and hitting, not just striking out a batter. Sometimes errors and no hitting can cost a game. I have seen a player not get a hit but make a game saving play somewhere in the game but the pitcher gets the credit in all of his stats. The pitcher goes on to the awards while the player, most of the time goes off into OBLIVION. Some players get politically recognized and some earn it. I want to say thanks to the every day player who does not get recognized and keep on SHOWCASING the talents of a few others so they can go on to greater things in baseball. HENDERSONVILLE (25-5) ---- co-champions district 9AAA ---- they beat RIVERDALE, MT.JULIET,OAKLAND,CLARKSVILLE, BRENTWOOD, LAVERGNE twice, NORTH JACKSON, etc. --------and not in the top ten. Oh well, go figure. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS FROM DISTRICT 9AAA

Hendersonville 9, Lavergne 2----I am a Hendersonville fan but became a Lavergne fan also last night. What a class program. Hats off to LAVERGNE

I was at them game from Hendersonville. You can be called 'rednecks','trailer park trash', as well as many things I can't say here, for so many times before you get tired of it. Everyone has different levels of tolerance. Its only a game. I know some good people from Oakland, and they are not like that. Win or lose, We all need to 'GET OVER IT!!!' and play baseball.
