It has been fun hasn't it. I have watched the teams in this region go from being down to competeing to being very good losing a lot to graudation to improving again. So I guess this is my goodbye to them. To: TC I seen ya'll come in the region take some licks but improve from them to win the region in 2002, lose a lot but rebound very well. The way you compete at the 3A level I almost feel sorry for some of the 1A teams you will play next year. To: SC I have wactched as you went from 4th in 2001 to region champs in 2004 job well done. Looking at the mapping in 2A you might be playing some of the same teams you played this year hopefuly you will miss all the private schools until the finals. To: LA I have watched you get better every year keep up the good work. You will be losing Portland but you may be able to renew an old rivarly with the Blue Devils from White House. As a Portland fan I watched us lose 21 starters and 10 projected starters ( 6 left the team 4 to season ending injuries) between the end of the 2001 season till before the start fo the 2002 season and still make the playoffs I don't no how but we did. They have improved over the last two years we are not back where we were but were gettng there. As much fiun that it has been I am looking foward to the jump to 4A to get to see some teams I haven't see play yet. If we get lucky there might be a chance to play some nonregion games aganist each other. Not this year. The station was supposed to be back on the air by the 5th week of the season but the company that was installing the new tower had part of the tower over the property line so they had to tear it down and start again. We do have a tv crew that does the game for replay on the local cable channel.

Thanks for the info Del. I had not heard that they moved into to a new school. It was in 98 the last time we had the possibility of going to Grundy Co. that is when I was told it was in Traci City. Good luck to both teams

Help me out Del are ya'll on central or eastern time and where is there a good place to eat. I have never been to Traci City looking forward to coming down there.

I have not had a chance to see LA play but the run defense of York is very good up the middle but very suspect on the corners. If LA has the speed to get the corners they should win. York's offense has it moments but is prone to mistakes. Someone posted on another thread that York was a different team at home all those mistakes seem to disappear. Since this game is at York and they do seem to be a different team at home this will be a close one 28 - 24 LA.

Casey Allen Portland's QB was 3-3 passing for 113 yds and 2 TD. The main reason I feel he had a good game is that while he was in the game there was not a fumbled snap even with all the wind and rain. He must have been totally concertrating to do that with a soaked ball.

Pee300 are you sure you are a Portland Panther fan? I'm not because a true panther fan knows that the only thing we are working on is our next opponent Cannon Co. There is four games between now and the LA game anything can happen from injuries to players leaving the team. LA if TC makes the same mistakes they made aganist Portland you should win. If they correct those mistakes then it could come down to who has the better kicker. Good luck to both teams and hopfuly no injuries because the way it appears now Smith, LA, TC, and Portland are the front runners in the region and I would love to see a clean sweep of region 3 in the frist round of the playoffs.

I agree with the general accounts of the game that has already been posted. Neither team played defense at all. Portland's secondary has got to step it up but how much can you ask out of three soph. seeing their first varsity action. The refs did let them play a lot of no-calls on both sides. The only one that really hurt was on the fumble that started WH last drive the ball carrier actually stepped out of bounds about a yard before he fumbled but as they say sometimes thats the breaks. It was an exciting game but it was not a normal Port-WH game. Good luck to WH maybe with some luck we will see each other again in the boro when your game begins right after ours is done.
