  1. OK. Everyone has had a chance to give their opinion. Let's move on. Get off that dead horse. This week. Warren Co./Lincoln Co. How many think this will become a real head-knocker?
  2. My sources tell me that the "Legend" accidently turned the gatorade into wine before Saturday's game. Took awhile for BA to shake off the effects. Made a nice comeback, but came up a little short.
  3. Hahahahaahahahahhahahahahhaha...Good one RWF (wiping eyes).
  4. Gilligan says it will be a three hour tour (a three hour tour). Better result. Even Gilligan scores this time.
  5. Wow! One of best threads ever. Well thought out. Good arguments on both sides. Just don't let it be said that there are not some deep thinkers checking out CoachT. Thanks. By the way, there is no perfect answer to this predicament.
  6. Good mark for you, chsbbfan. Hit the nail squarely on the head with that one. One point to add: The tired old argument about the great, tradition-steeped programs attracting players from other areas cannot be denied in 2002. Kids and parents want to win and play for good teams. BUT.....which came first? Recruiting or championships? Chicken or egg? Did the recruitment of players (years ago) create great programs (dynasties), or the other way around? Is it only a coincidence that the top two AAU programs in Tennessee have directly fed the top two high school programs in Tennessee. Just don't insult our intelligence out here. Some of us know exactly what is and has been going on for years. [Edited by salty on 8-24-02 5:16A]
  7. TSSAA will begin to enforce recruiting rules only when and if it starts to affect their revenue stream. [Edited by salty on 8-23-02 10:02A]
  8. Ok, now don't take this personal Mr. ELA but there just isn't any stopping this edition of the Fairview Yellowjackets. We have power and speed and guile and cunning and bravado and a mighty fine bus driver! I can't see where we have any weaknesses. By the time this year's team is finished, people in Fairview will have forgotten the great teams led by the likes of Danny Greer and Big John Nutt and talking about the 2002 version of the Jackets. I know that Celina is a long ways off and that your team will be inspired by taking on a 2-A power like us, but when the dust is settled, we will be headed back home with the taste of victory dripping from our lips. Now then, I am no longer a tuba player for the band. My marching days have been over for a while. Plus, a tuba is no longer my instrument of choice. I am equally adept at the harmonica, mandolin and french harp. Take it easy there Mr. ELA and we look forward to coming to Celina. Mean Jean Just heard on TV that if Fairview was to have a winning season this year, town leaders are considering changing the name to Prettygoodview. Say it ain't so. Me and other outraged alumni will saddle up and ride in to the town square and protest. Can we count you in, too?

    Watertown

Rumor has it that a van filled with Mormons broke down in Cherry Valley. The kids enrolled at Watertown and convinced the old coach at Watertown to install Brigham Young's passing game. Better get your kids in a backpedal if you are playing the Purple Tigers this year. Also, the new principal there is a frustrated ex-football coach and he is making them run a bunch of wild plays that never worked for him, i.e. halfback passes, hidden ball plays, etc. Expect them to be a little better, in spite of the outside influences.
