  1. First, take a deep breath and release. Nobody is debating the history of JC and how good Coach Brown is. 1. What about beating Pickett County by 51! That showed alot of class. Beating monterey 60-13 Beating Van Buren 85-34. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black 2. The question was about this year, or I thought it was. I don't remember JC beating the number 1 team in the nation this year? I don't recall them being on dateline this year? If the question was all time then yes JC would be ahead of SH. If you are referring to this year it is not even close. Riverdale, SH, and Memphis would hammer JC.
  2. A very good Cookeville team that lost twice to Bradley Central (who Science Hill beat by 26). A team who also lost to Brentwood (who lost to Riverdale by 49). A team who was put out in the reginal semifinals. So a team that can beat this very good Cookeville team by 4 is the second best team in the state. Now I understand why everyone thinks Devil is so smart.
  3. So JC plays 2 games against a AAA school. Both against Cookeville and they won by 4 points each game. The same Cookeville that Brentwood beat by 6 and Brentwood was the worst AAA team at the state. 1. Riverdale #1 team in nation for a reason. Only 2 teams had even a prayer of beatin them in state 2. Science Hill #11 in the nation for a reason. Played Riverdale close but never got the feeling that could actually win. 3. Memphil Central - Again, played Riverdale pretty close for about 3 quarters but game was never really in doubt. 4. Memphis Overton - 4. Big drop off. Bradley Central (with entire team) 5. Another big drop off. You could make a case for any of these teams. (Memphis Overton, CPA, JC, Macon County, even Clarkrange or Union City) BTW, my post did not say JC beat Riverdale.
  4. Why can't you just enjoy you gold ball. There is NO way jc beats science hill or riverdale. They played one team that was close to that kind of talent and that was Ensworth and got beat by 30. I'm not even sure they beat either of the Memphis teams. And yes coach brown is a great coach but he is not the only great coach. He has a unique situation that some of the bigger schools don't have. Either you have zero basketball iq or you are just trying to get people like me fired up
  5. Coachbob1, nothing like this ever happened at Page unless it was the other way around. He was always well respected among his peers when he was at Page. Obviously you have something personal against him and have decided to do the adult thing and take care of it on a message board. Stay classy "coachbob"
  6. No, it's not funny to call someone you don't know a jerk. Grow up
  7. COACHBOB1= CHILD WHO DOESN"T KNOW BARWELL - enough said
  8. I don't play for Page Don't go to Page Have no kids playing for Page Don't care how bad they go beat for that matter, but the way it went down. It would just be nice to see a little class but judging where he came from might be impossible.
  9. Pressing up by 40, leaving starters in, trying to score 100. You know, same ol' thing. He must be overcompensating for a lack of something.
  10. Proves the point you can't take the stupid out people. Some people are just born with it.
  11. There is a shot clock already. It's an 8 minute shot clock It is hard enough to find someone to run the clock, let alone a shot clock. It was cause alot of problems
  12. I will have to say this. Of all the state champions this year Marshall County (to my knowledge) did it the right way. To my knowledge he has very little to do with AAU, and no transfers. Also, Coach Steely has taken his lumps over the years with some poor records but he stuck it out, with HIS players win or lose and that is what it is all about.
  13. I totally agree. I am like you vols, don't have a dog in the hunt but here is my 2 cents which no one asked for but are getting anyway. Any high school coach who is involved in AAU recruits. They may not break any rules but they break the spirit of the rules. AAU is supposed to be all star teams where anyone can play from anywhere and High School is supposed to the school you are zoned to but more and more they are starting to look the same. A lot of teams do it, but you only here about the teams that win which this year is Wilson Central, and Jackson County. My idea is instead of seperating public and private, seperate the schools which except transfers from the schools who don't. That way, the true high school coach who is not involved in AAU and is doing it the way it is supposed to be done doesn't have to worry about playing an all star team. My final note is for the parents who transfer there kids. If you feel for whatever reason that is what you need to do fine, do it. However understand you are get some flack from people for doing it. If you are willing to move and get the gold ball, and you beat people along the way who had NO transfers you are going to get some grief. Take it and stop with the "hater talk"
