I believe it was first time in over 30 years having to play in a play in game and not making the tourney. I know its only the second time in 30 some years the Tigers have had a losing season. As for exfire, who was making excuses? Yes we lost, but do you actually think we were blaming the loss on our catcher getting knocked out. As for the throw being right down the base path, it doesnt matter. You cant run into a catcher. The catcher didnt slide over in front of the runner, he was in the same spot from the time the throw was made to the time he got hit. The player had no intention on sliding which was clearly seen if you were paying attention. And if you want to argue as to why the on deck hitter high fived the player then Im open to suggestions. Because like we established earlier, the guy was out and the catcher was out cold, please humor me as to why you would congratulate someone in that situation.

Taking a knee when a player is knocked out cold is not sportsmanship, its respect. I know as a Marshall County player I and my team would take a knee and pray that a player knocked out would be ok.

He suffered a concussion and is going to have a major crick in his neck for a while. Its bad enough he ran into him, but when a Loretto player congratulates him it just goes too far. Oh and not to mention it takes them 10 minutes to have the respect to take their hats off and take a knee.

You didnt think Marshall players were sad? Where were you sitting? I know I lost all the respect for Loretto players and there coach in that game. An incident where a Loretto player plowed our catcher which resulted in him being knocked out cold and gave him a concussion, anyways, while our catcher is laying on the ground a Loretto player hi fives the person who ran into him and told him good job. And while our catcher is on the ground Loretto players dont even have the decency to take their hats off and take a knee. Congratulations Loretto, I hope someone besides Lamm can step up and get you through the tourney.

This post tells me you have no connection with MC baseball because everyone knows what happened and I dont think it anyones business besides the player and the coaches.

Lamm had well over 10 strikeouts and allowed only 1 hit, which should have been caught, when he pitched against MC. MC won the game 4-1, so I would agree that Loretto has problems in getting run support for there pitcher.

Seth Lintz the freshman from MC has about 18 district innings and only 5 or 6 earned runs and every one of those except for one was against Lewis County. He pitched 6 shutout innings against Fairview and allowed one run in 7 innings against Page, only problem is MC lost both of those games. I know he wont be named MVP but hes definitely in the running.

Marshall County has a 31-0 state championship team so its definitely not impossible, season is at most half-way done, so good luck to you.

Ill tip my hat to Page for battling out of many bases loaded or second and third jams many times. Cant wait for the rematch.

Congratulations on a GREAT played game Page. The game was full of intensity and excitement. Though I still dont know where the home plate umps strike zone was, it was a great game. Looking forward to the rematch.

You said 1.6 would be better than any major league catcher........true........but dont forget that 1.86 is better than 95 percent of major leaque catchers.

Freshman Seth Lintz from Marshall County K'd 14 in 6 shutout innings against Fairview. With more starts Im sure he could rack up the K's.

Rarely do i see someone post that a dropped ball or a bad call lost the game, they merely state that a dropped ball or a bad call lead to a change in the ball game. The base hit that didnt go through the infield or the bad call the ump made at 3rd base can alter a game completely. Thats what I love about baseball. You can be beaten by any given team at any given moment with a single swing of the bat. I do agree when you are 10 run ruled in 5 innings and you say the umpires strike zone was horrible, well thats just poor sportsmanship and it does bug me too.

Congratulations Fairview on a very tough fought ballgame. The rematch should be a game to waych.

The pitching change was a mutual decision between the pitcher and the coaches and I respect the pitcher for saying that he was done. It shows a desire to win when u admit to something like that. It wasnt that he didnt want to keep pitching...it was simply the best for the team. Unfortunately it didnt turn out that way this time but hopefully next time. And besides that, its still very early in MC's season and his pitch count at the end of the 6th was 99 pitches.

Ill be the first to tip my hat to Fairview. It just goes to show u that playing small ball and getting the little things done wins ball games. The umping in this game was definitely not the best ive seen but ive never been one to blame the umps for a loss and I still wont do it. Its a shame that a freshman pitches 6 shutout innings and has 14 strikeouts but we could only manage to get 1 run across the plate. Congrats Fairview and i look forward to the rematch.

Gerry answer me one question, how it is possible for you to make any predictions on MC baseball when you havent seen them play one time? Just seems odd to me!

Personally........all of this doubt about MC being any good is just fire in the furnace.....Gerry i use to respect ur opinion until everytime MC proved u wrong u resorted to some desperate measure like the team didnt have there ace on the mound or the ump was my dad......everyone has an opinion.....my opinion is that this year's team is by far better than last years team which was one game out of a state birth....but by all means go right ahead and put us down.........i love it.......i love being the underdog and i strive even harder to put u in ur place......so be ready baseball fans come May.....the Tigers are for real this year!

The Sandlot and Summer Catch are the two best of all time........especially the bathing suit scene in Summer Catch

That would stink to have a game postponed due to darkness and then have to resume the game months later. You can almost count on a short game once it is resumed.
