Lintz may have been tired but I guarantee he brought his best. He started to tire in the later innings but all it took were a few key base hits by the tigers and this game goes the other way. MC left 7 men on base to USJ's 4. MC also had more errors, dont remember if any of USJ's runs were unearned but that is the ballgame right there. I dont disagree with throwing your ace, especially in the first game of state tourny. That first win is crucial and I know Stoltz is an awesome #2, but I will have to agree with Coach G throwing Lintz.

Ball game! USJ 4 - Tigers 2! Tigers play tomorrow morning at 10am. Good luck tigers! The tigers have a TOUGH road ahead now but they are far from out of this thing. This same tigers team knows you can battle out of the losers bracket, they learned that last summer.

This AMAZES me. Those of you who have sons of the team that played for coach mac for at least one year ask them this.......find out just how much the begged and whined to get mac away from the team and then begged and whined to get WJ on the team. Not 3 years later and we are already talking about doing away with him? Whats up with that? It ALL boils down to if the BOYS show up to play or not on friday night. Yea coaching can have an influence but after a win we dont say GOOD JOB COACH. You got it done for us. WRONG! Its the players that do the job and the players that get it done. WJ is coaching the way he knows how to, and not ALL of it is his fault that the team isnt getting the job done. A coach doesnt win a state championship, the TEAM does. Its like that in any sport. WJ's play calling isnt whats making us all want to do away with him. Its the fact that MC isnt going to go undefeated and win a state championship. Compare MC to the better 3A programs in the state. Is there any comparison? Maybe MC just doesnt have the talent to be what every fan in the stands wants them to be. I give it to the players on the team, they bust there butts every friday night, but maybe they just dont have it.

Was it not Gower's decision to play not long after his first injury? I mean I remember senior year high school sports, you swear up and down nothing will stop you. Well it seems he made the decision to push his luck and play against the word of some doctors. Sometimes you have to take a chance, and well, this one didnt pay off. And Mctigersportsfan, those are pretty harsh words directed towards WJ dont you think? Considerin just a few years ago we were BEGGING for a new coach. MC football has went downhill since the loss of Mac, not saying its because we lost him, but just saying it HAS NOT improved over the last few years and probably wont for a long time. I say Marshall loses this game. the inexperience of Morris is going to hurt them. CC knows what to defend against and Im sure they are preparing to do just that.

Id say its a kick in the butt knowing what Mack has done in 2 seasons of coaching at his new school! I know that has nothing to do with Marshall and Creekwood but its been on my mind for a while now.....just thought id let it out! Unless Marshall can find a way to perform on D and utilize Hightower I say Creekwood by 2+ TDs

this tourney could very well turn into single elimination and mean that Marshall and Loretto play one game for district championship, because according to Channel 2 News the weather aint gonna be too pretty tomorrow night. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Game in Marshall County is at 7:00 Pageman. And I originally had the winners game on Tuesday but you are right Gerry, the winners game is Tuesday at the higher seeds field.

1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 Monday. Winners play Wednesday at higher seeds field. Losers play Tuesday at higher seeds field. Loser of the winners game and the winner of the losers game play on Wednesday to see who plays the 2-0 team on Thursday. Pretty sure thats how it goes.

You've heard Lamm throws 96-97.... thats first round straight out of high school smoke. Mikie Minor threw 93 several times earlier this year against Marshall County. That was with 8 different scouts there.

Everyone is gonna have there own opinion, I feel Marshall County should be #1 on any list regardless of there record. They were state champs last year and lost very little and are loaded with seniors this year.

Coach George at Marshall County High has a 707-225 record over 32 years. 21 district titles, 20 region titles, 19 state quarter final appearances, 2 sectionals, 11 state tourney appearances and 3 state titles. 3 third place finishes and runner-up 4 times. I would say that should be tops on just about any list.
