  1. The Knoxville News Sentionel is doing a great job this year with their on-line presence, Knoxnews.com. The url for Prepextra softball is listed below. You can drill down to individual players in specific games. The only problem is that not all teams report. There is very little from District 1 or 2, mostly 3 and 4. Enjoy! Knoxville News-Sentinel Prep-Extra
  2. In District 4AAA, each team draws a number before the start of the year. If two teams end up tied then the team with the higher draw at the beginning of the season is the higher seed in the tournament.
  3. Sorry your team travelled without getting to play. I hope they had some bonding time. See you next year.
  4. Walkingthewalk, showing everybody. including me. Amy Josephson, Jessie Howard, Chrissy Hannahs, Margaret Morris and Sarah Young are all over .300 for the year. That's the first time this late in the year I have seen that for Farragut. Now we need to increase the RBI totals!!
  5. Good reminder VCR. after this year Heritage is not the blind squirrel any more. They are for real. Not only do they have some of the best pitching in the Knoxville area, they have some of the leading hitters as well. potent combination. Farragut and Heritage, tuesday night for #2 in 4AAA. Should be a great game!!
  6. As of 6:50 this morning, it looks like we might have caught a break. The rain look s like it is easing up. The Farragut field drains well, but we have had so much rain. I am going to the field around 10:00am to see what the damage is.
  7. I was with Coach Moore this afternoon pushing water off the field. We will start games tomorrow at noon, if we don't get alot of rain tonight. Rain, Rain go away!!!!

Yes, CAK and Catholic will move up. You can query the TSSAA site for 2005 with this link. 2005 Classifications
  9. Dang!! That's expensive. Probably averages better than the softball habit we've had around here for 7 years. VCR, do I have to keep remindng you that the blind squirrel is Heritage, not Farragut. If walkingthewalk keeps talking, we might get named after another animal. Let's see, what animal has the BIGGEST MOUTH. Walkingthewalk was wrong on the RBI's as well. Marge does not lead the team. Sorry the hook caught you VCR, but this board always has some kind of hoax.
  10. Farragut beat Maryville last night 10-6. That means that Farragut and Heritage are 2 or 3, with the game to decide next Tuesday at Heritage. Should be a great game. The only difference between 2 and 3 at this point is one extra game in the district tournament. Both teams are get double elimination, regardless.
  11. I would use the weighted ball for windmills into the glove, but don't try to pitch with it. I other words, don't try to hit spots at 40 feet. Use the weighted ball to strengthen. A good exercise is to windmill three times into the glove or net. Repeat that 10 to 20 times after you ptich your normal practice with a regular ball.
  12. Sometimes we have to get a dose of perspective. A Perfect Game on an Imperfect Day
  13. If you outlaw the Rockettech, you have to outlaw the Worth Quad and the TPS Catalyst. I think the cat is out of the bag.
  14. Farrgut and Heritage cancelled tonight, rescheduled for May 3rd. Last district game of the season.
  15. Define East Tennessee? Regions I & II (Knoxville and Upper East) or do you include Region III (Chattanooga).
  16. That's what I have too KenHawk, Bearden is clearly in the catbird seat. Farragut has WB tonight and then Heritage tomorrow night at Heritage. This next week will be key for the #2 spot. The Farragut-Maryville game next week may be a key matchup.
  17. Bearden clearly is in the drivers seat, but there is still several games to be played. The district games are so compacted in the week and next that it will almost be like two tournaments. Farragut has to play: WB, Heritage, Sevier County, Maryville and South Doyle Heritage has to play: Bearden, West, Farragut, WB and Maryville Maryville has to play: Sevier Co (2), WB, Bearden, Farragut, Heritage WB has to play: Farragut, West, Heritage, Maryville, Bearden There is still alot of ball to be played. It's a horse race for 2nd.
  18. That's because I did alot of talking last year and don't have much to say this year. Some of the teams that are doing better this year don't have anyone on this board. Like Bearden.
  19. Good clarification of the rule. Somebody needs to explain that to all the TSSAA umpires. I have several several cases this year of the catcher blocking the plate while the ball is in route.
  20. Since you can't remember VCR, The blind squirrel reference last year was to Heritage beating Maryville. Well, their not blind anymore and they beat the crap out of Farragut last night. Maybe the blind squirrel has gotten into Farragut's bats!! Yeh, that's it. I feel an exorcism coming on. Hey ya hey ya hey ya ya ya!!!
  21. We had this happen in a district game two weeks ago. The runner was ejected AND suspended for two ball games. Runners should be careful. I have also seen a collision where the catcher blocked the plate, lost the ball, grabbed the runner to keep her from reaching the plate while she reached for the ball. The runner was safe.
  22. This was a great game, for Heritage. Here are the particulars. WP- Fagg (7IP, 3H, 7K, 2BB, 0ER) LP - Morris(7IP, 5H, 4K, 2BB, 3ER) The 4th batter, Murr, for Heritage had two key hits in the game. In fact, all three runs were scored with 2 outs. Farraguts only score came in the 7th on two throwing errors. Margaret was hit by a pitch in the batters box early on the right arm. She didn't seem to have much movement after that. She has a big shiner this morning. Bearden today.
  23. VTEC, don't leave us!! It has been a crappy year all the way around. There is one reason you should stay on here. The blind squirrel can see again. It's a miracle!!!
  24. Farragut beat Bledsoe Friday night but just barely. #16 has a bomb for a bat. What is her name?
