  1. Storm, The kings court needs to get in session. Your fan club has requested your presence. I think that woman has changed you. You're getting soft in your old age. You guys pull together up their in Roan Mtn. If I didn't know better I'd swear you had some creek in you.
  2. I'd be looking for the teams that played the toughest schedule and not the one that played all the cupcake games to pad their records. Last's years class A tournament was living proof. And to think the defending state champions have never been mentioned as a contender. We shall see!

  4. I have watched both teams play several times this season and know both coaches very well. Unaka and Eliz. play different styles, the Rangers up and down the floor going nine deep while the Cyclones play more of a halfcourt style offense with pin point passing. Unaka is strong at guard play with two of East Tn. finest at that position in Renee Ensor and Jessica Osborne. Julie Roberson can be dominating at times inside if she's not in foul trouble. Eliz. has a monster inside game with a can't miss college prospect named Rikki Baughman. She's smart and knows how to play the game. Michaela Pietrowski is a key in the middle as teams key on Baughman. And nobody plays defense better than Valnessha Redd. She can change a game quicker than anyone I've seen play. Great athlete. But the kids that play around them, Coty Townsend, Danielle Ensor, Lacey Gouge and Megan Johnson are good players who can lead the team in scoring any night for Unaka. Ensor and Townsend can light it up when on their game. Cameron Crapps is the most improved player on the floor for Eliz and can shoot the lights out. Victoria Hopson has stepped up her game and Eden Treadway is a solid player off the bench. The Cyclones have some outstanding JV players who will be a force next season. Both teams are class acts with two outstanding head coaches. Who would win? I don't know. I'm sure that each could beat the other on any given night depending upon several factors. Who's better? You decide. And don't forget Cloudland. I think they could be the most improved team since Christmas. Coach Birchfield has done a great job and you've got to have standards in your program. If kids want to play, they show up for practices and games. Matt has standards. Cloudland has two of the top players in Northeast Tennessee. Both are pure shooters. Heather Banner and Jessica Lunsford can play with the best of them. Just ask Unicoi. So enjoy girls basketball Carter County fans. Murfreesboro said they hadn't seen anything like the Unaka fans last year during the boys state tournament. Imagine if Unaka, Eliz. and Cloudland all got there. Would we pull against one another. My wardrobe would consist of Maroon and white, orange and black and blue and gold. And Hopefully they've got it in big sizes. Good Luck to all thumb And to the fan who bashed Elizabehton going to the foul line so many times against Greeneville. Bottom line, Baughman took the ball to the hole and your team didn't, as Greeneville elected to shoot from the outside. Give it up, you got beat.
  5. So did many teams last year when the boys when to the state, but the final result was they went home with their heads hanging and their prayers unanswered. Just because you happen to reside from Nashville down doesn't mean those teams are the queens of basketball. If you get there anything can happen. And what did the Unaka fans say after the boys won its first ever state championship last season. The drought is over.........................NOMOORE The girls could be saying the same thing, you never know, Cloudland could do the same. Again, you never know.
  6. 1. Lick Skillet Lunatics 2. Turkeytown Tomato Pickers 3. Morgan Branch Mulletheads 4. Dennis Cove Duma Flachies 5. Powder Branch Peacocks Receiving Votes: Rittertown Ram Rods, Crabtree Crawdads. Smile Krich, Coach 17 is a great guy. Deep, breath, drop back and punt. Works everytime!
  7. I have not no ideal on the Hampton job. My guess, and its only a guess would be if Lunsford comes he wouldn't coach a winter sport until after his daughter graduates. I wish the best for "both" coach Campbell's. In the words of the Califorina Rasins, I heard it through the Greene County grapevine, but just the name being mentioned. I am postive however, the coach could could be somewhere else if they so choose. Only coach to ever go undefeated with both the boys and girls in the same season. Hint!
  8. yes, I was told it come up among some supporters
  9. I didn't say anyone was leaving, just that a very successful and deserving coach is now being noticed for the good job they do. A proven winner at every level they have coached, both girls and boys.
  10. I don't know about the Hampton job, but I interested in hearing more about a certain Carter County coach who's name is being tossed around at South Greene! thumb
  11. I wish Coach17 would reconsider. He is well loved by the students at TAD. He's like old school, a throwback from the one room schoolhouses He has a great repore with the students. I know mine will miss him a great deal and so will the school system. I wish he and his family nothing but the best. thumb
  12. The best thing Hampton could do would be bring her back next season. Not only would it be best, but it would be the right thing. As much as she's gave to that school as a player and a coach, she deserves a much better faith.
  13. Maybe Glee you might need to speak with Coach Campbell and hear her side of the story. And yes she is a class act. But their is two sides to this story, the AD's and hers. As for the Star cutting it, we'll be just fine. She will land somewhere. Count on it. thumb
  14. That's only one side of the story. Their is a whole lot more.
  15. Teacher, I would like to know how you can determine who's who? Or is it just a assumption? Sometimes innocent people are hurt because of this. And to CoachT. You need to be aware that IP addresses are being changed with a bootleg software that allows users to go into the network on a computer and insert one's IP address on their post. It has been done on more than one occassion. I can share with you how it is being done. This is a violation of ones privacy. The reason I mention this is you have others who go in with another type of software to look at one's IP address. You heard the old saying, curosity killed the cat, it's well displayed on this site. It's nothing but people trying to stir up trouble on this web-site. I for one use this for reading purposes because it has some vital information in my line of work. I'm alot like Krich, I'm not hard to find. As for my posting days, they are finished, because I have no dog in these races. I want to see all the local teams and athletes do well and I'm willing to do anything that might help a player reach the next level. Now teacher, if you want to know who I am, just look at my name, or if you can't figure it out, I will be glad to tell you. As for Storm55, you better believe he was a Cloudland Highlander, a grad in the early 90's and a very good football player. As for Storm, I didn't see you at the Cloudland / Unicoi game. I did however speak to your dad. And again, I say innocent people are taking lots of heat on here for things they are not part of. Don't assume unless you are 100 percent sure. My last post, I will leave all that for Krich and the people that have far greater knowledge than I have. It's been fun. See you at the games.
  16. Hey Bobcat Congragulations on winning the Byrdstown Classic last season. Funny thing, I didn't see the Pickett County Peacocks in Murfreesboro last season. I've held that gold ball a few times and it doesn't say lucky, nor does it say worst team to ever win it. What is does say is STATE CHAMPS! And when you look in state tournament program this year you'll read the following: High FG percentage ever shot in a state tournament 64% Lucky those shots were falling Highes percentage ever shot in a half 100% against Temple in the semi-finals dang, you think of those kids being that lucky. They didn't do that at Byrdstown. Chambers shoots 100% from the foul line 12 0f 12. Oh that was luck also. I could do better. I couldn't believe the site of all the four leaf clovers, buffalo nickels and rabbits feet that were wore by the Unaka players. Why bobcat, you dont' have to be good to make it to Murfreesboro, just be lucky. Luck, yeah you've go to have a little luck along the way to win it all but you also got to play well. Unaka had both. Maybe this season, you might get lucky and make it out of your own back yard? All it takes is a little luck!!!!!!!!! Now I ask you "State Championship or First place in the Byrdstown Classic? A gold ball or a Byrdstown bobcat. Hang in their boys, slow starters, strong finshers.
  17. Twas the night before Christmas and all things were norm Some folks were still wishing, especially old storm All the stockings were hung on the mantle and wall Except at Unaka, where their sets a gold ball Why couldn't I be a Ranger, said Storm 55 I don't have a gold ball, oh Santa he cried. I can't stand the sight of that big bad maroon But when games are on the line, I know we are doomed We've tried to be silent and stopped all my bragging But the Rangers are quick that sometimes we're left dragging I hate when they fast break, I hate when they press I hate those state champions, oh this I confess. I'll speak no more words, I'll just get back to work Posting on Coach T, and playing the part of a jerk And laying my finger beside of my snout Deep down in my mind, they're was never no doubt. I heard Santa say as he drove out of sight, Merry Christmas my buddy, for I know you're not right Merry Christmas Coach T, Merry Christmas to all For Storm he has nothing, while the Rangers have the Gold Ball
  18. Tn. Gal You didn't miss anything on the gossip board. No parent is jealous of anyone. Read the prior post.
  19. He's doing well. He hates redshirting but lots of senior guards on the team. I know he would love to be where Mark will wind up.
  20. It amazing that some people have nothing better to do but stir up trouble on this web-site. It's apparent that some kids have more free time than others at school. To Tyler, No one was more deserving than you last year at the state tournament. I enjoyed watching you mature into a great player and a fine young man. What most people don't know is that Tyler, Rusty and Cody were roommates during the tournament and all were named to the all tourney team. They have a strong friendship bond, or thats last account I had. We went thought the same thing on this board with Rusty. Some good advice is to let it go through one ear and out the other. The fact is that people are jealous of your accomplishments. Just remember to work hard, and be humble like I know that you've always been around me. Good things are in store for you after the season. The same holds true for Derek and Delbert. Our family is very proud of you. I hope that post was not referring to us, I can assure you that in no way do we feel like that. My dream is to see all the players get an opportunity to play at the next level. Don't worry if it's D-1, D-2, or NAIA. Just get your degree. The rest will take care of itself. The returning trio have an opportunity to play at the next level and I think that will happen. Just remember what got you there last season. "Hard Work" Good Luck to all you, I will be pulling for the Rangers to repeat this season.
  21. Campbelle 2, "Where have you been hiding." How are things at Sneedville?
  22. Bball woman, I stand to correct you. They defeated Unaka 55-49 and the score was actually tied 48-48 with 1:42 remaining in tha game. I covered the game and the game was at Central which is a tough place to play. They did well two years ago in the Arbys. They would be worthy of an invite.
  23. UNAKA Nah, they don't belong. Keep telling yourselves that. But I asked this question? How many teams in the ARBY'S can list "STATE CHAMPIONS" on their resume. Not Science Hill, Kingsport DB nor any of the other locals. I don't care what level it is, this program should have earned the respect of everyone on this board. Furthermore, you would think local fans would be proud of their accomplishments and want to see them play. As for the Volunteer tournament, I think they are in it. As for the Arbys, it's getting more watered down ever year. You offset great talent by seeing some of the worst "COACHED" teams in the nation.
