  1. My thinking on this is one is that Clarkrange almost beat a very quality team in Oliver Springs. They lost that game in overtime. I'm not saying that Oliver Springs is the best team ever, but they are a great team. They returned a lot of people from last year, whereas Oneida is rebuilding. Oneida has people with not a lot of high school experience that are going to step up and it's going to be hard for them to find a flow so early in the season. I look for Oneida to start off slow and pick things up later in the season, because they're going to have to grow. Clarkrange by 20+.
  2. What are the predictions for this game. I know Midway returns some starters from last year.
  3. Wartburg shouldn't have any problems at all matching up. They shouldn't have problems matching up with any team in the state, because of the type of game they play.
  4. That's true, they are athletic. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  5. I don't know a whole lot about either team, but I know that Rockwood is returning Michael Gilmore, who can shoot and handle the ball, Billy Moffit, who is probably going to be the starting point guard, he's pretty quick, Jamie Hackler, who is a tall post player who can absolutely throw it down. I'm not quite sure whoever else Rockwood is returning, they have another post player I just don't know his name. He's pretty strong inside. Also, I heard they got a transfer who can shoot the lights out of it. I don't know anything about Scott High. Be sure to post results.
  6. It's okay if you think Rockwood is going to be first, but I think that putting Cosby 4th is probably not quite accurate but we'll see.
  7. It is very flattering that a topic about Wartburg has went on for six whole pages, but we'll see what happens when the games begin. The Wartburg Bulldogs aren't the ones making these cocky comments, we know to take it one game at a time and we know that we're going to have to stay humble in order to succeed to our full potential. We WILL take things one game at a time, and we WILL succeed to our potential.
  8. Cloudland didn't beat Wartburg.... Alexander is AAAA in Georgia...not AAA
  9. yeah Philip...2005 was last season
  10. Region 2-A is loaded with talent, it's going to be a very exciting region tournament.
  11. I think the final score was Wartburg 75, Kingston 65
  12. Thursday is almost here. The scrimmage is at 5:00 @ Kingston.
  13. "As for Rockwood that will be the biggest game of the regular season for them." I don't think so. Wartburg plays AAA Lenoir City twice, and also during the Christmas tourney in Harriman they play Kennesaw Mountain High School, who went 27-4 last year in AAAAA ball in Georgia. They also play Pickett Co. , which went to the state tourney last year. Wartburg has a tough schedule this year. ^^^^^^^^^^^^Kennesaw Mountain in action^^^^^^^^^^^
  14. Wartburg will travel to Kingston Nov. 10th for a preseason scrimmage. It will be a good chance to check out both teams and see what kind of seasons they are in for.
  15. They are going to be good. They looked good in that scrimmage last night, even if they did lose.
  16. What I meant was Adam was a scorer. Before people knew, stop Adam Vespie and stop Jeremy Shannon. Now, since Adam isn't a main scorer, you have to watch out for everybody, because all those times that Adam would have had the ball, two or three other people are going to have the ball and be a threat now. That's what I was saying.
  17. If you haven't seen Wartburg play then you can't say that they aren't better without Adam Vespie. Honestly, I think we are better without Adam. I'm not saying anything about Adam, he's a great basketball player, he really is, but his style of basketball and Jeremy's style of basketball clash. Their styles clashed last year. Without Adam it opens up another spot for someone to step in and play without clashing with Jeremy's style. I'm not saying that it gives Jeremy a chance to be a ball hog either. That's not what I mean. Jeremy's a team player, but he is a scorer. Adam is also a scorer. If you have two scorers on one team then other people aren't going to get a chance to do they're job. With Adam gone, more people have a chance to become factors. I'm not calling Adam a ball hog either. The main point is Wartburg IS better without Adam Vespie.
  18. I like Adam. I don't blame him for leaving. Adam was thinking about his life after high school which is fine with me. I think it's fine with a lot of other people too. A lot of people like Adam around here. I think he made a mature decision that was hard to make. I know how hard it was on Adam to make that decision. I can only imagine leaving my Alma Mater after going there so long and making so many friends. There are a couple of people who don't particularly like Adam for leaving. But you can't say, "We know you guys don't like him" because to say that as a whole we don't like him is wrong.
  19. I think that Wartburg has a really good shot at going. I know it's hard to base a team's success for the year on the summer they had, but Wartburg had a great summer. All summer long they only played schools bigger than them and they went about 29-4. The games they lost they just didn't have any energy left because they'd been playing all day long. The teams they beat include: William Blount, Kingston, Sequatchie County, Cloudland, Lenoir City, Austin East, West, and a very talented 4A school from Georgia, Alexander High. The Dogs are setting very high goals this year. Keep an eye on them.
  20. Just wondering...Does Loudon want to add anything else? Any comment on how Alcoa isn't as good as they think they are? I'm not a fan of either team, but it gets on my nerves how people deny how good Alcoa truly is. If you really thought Loudon could win this game, apparently you hadn't seen Alcoa play. I haven't seen them play this year, but I saw them play last year on t.v. and they returned a lot of players. A lot of players. Loudon is a good, solid team this year. They've had some impressive victories. Alcoa beat this solid team by 28 points tonight. Does anyone doubt Alcoa now?
  21. Rockwood and Harriman are leaving 4-A next year and going to 3-A. CAK is moving out of 3-A and going to D-II. And Oliver Springs is moving from AA to A and going to 4-A. Does anyone have any predictions for next year of how Region 2-A will turn out?
