  1. Well, I know the guy who was offered. I think its going to be tomorrow hopefully. He had to look over some things and make sure its the right decision for him and his family.
  2. Not to my knowledge. Someone has been offered the job as of Tuesday.
  3. I wish my Dogs the best of luck, but this one scares me. We have not played a team of RE's caliber all year and we can't simply out-athlete them. We need huge presence in the paint and our shooters are going to have to be on to hang with these boys. Our upperclassmen are going to need to step up big and our sniors need to play inspired b-ball. Get 'em boys.
  4. How about the man behind the screenname? Quit being a punk.
  5. What's your problem? What do you have against him? Like I said before, if you're gonna be a wuss and hide behind your screenname and call people out, then just shut your mouth. Nobody wants to hear your garbage.
  6. Enlighten us then....he got screwed.
  7. Our adminisration has proved very little towards competence in its recent hirings of coaches...no?
  8. How do you figure that? Do you have ANY idea how much money and time the parents and former players have put into the program???.. We deserve to know at least the very least.... All the coaches from other states that have applied have no idea bout our program, they just saw the ads "5-A school, big enrollment, head coaching position". There is no vested interest with most of these guys.
  9. I've heard nothing. Admistrations is not keeping anybody up to speed.
  10. Everybody here knows who I am. I've never hid it. If you weren't such a moron, you could figure it out by what I have posted. Unless you're gonna tell us who you are, what you have against Coach Gray, and give us some positive input, stay out of this. You've done nothing but tear down a good man for no reason.
  11. And you're another example of a wuss hiding behind a computer screenname that does nothing but stir crap.
  12. What do YOU have against him? You clearly have beef. How many high school coaches coordinate defense and offense? Hmm, Quarles just does offense and is good at that, so he must not know s*** about defense right? Gray can coach both. He was a defensive player in high school and college. He just started doing offense when he first got into coaching.\ Get off your horse big man.
  13. And this crap is only the beginning. If you knew half of what I do about what has happened the past couple of years in and around our program, and why I think Coach Gray is good for our program, you would understand. If you do know what has gone on and still disagree, I don't know what to say.
  14. Yeah, what has he proven? How many state championship games has anybody else on our coaching staff coached in? Quarterfinals? Playoff games period? How about the applicants? Would you mind telling me why, for some reason, you think we can hire a person the caliber of Quarles, Rankin, Reed, Lussier? Ron Gray is the best man for the job. Period. Our administration gave the man two months to completely install a new offense with new personnel. For god's sakes, the man had to re-teach the basics of every position. Cut him some slack. Wait, where was the anti-Maynard sentiments?? He resigned, on his own account according to him...So what are you trying to say? Maynard should still be the HC?
  15. Congrats man. Not sure yet. I'm going to have to take track into consideration too.
  16. Are you calling me out? And are you the one whose in Lynn Hill's ear? What are you mad about? What did he do to your son? Its time you bucked up, and I guess this is your attempt to do it. Ok here you go. You ever hear of a thing called discipline? He brought it. The BS wasn't there this year. It didn't matter who you were. You didn't work hard, you didn't do what you were told, you didn't play for him. Is that wrong? He brought the concept of "family". Your son should know that idea by now. Its called you do what's best for your brother, not yourself. People think the QB job was taken from me by a sophomore. It wasn't. They asked me to do it for the team and I did because I wanted what was best for the team. He brought a thing called heart. Did you watch the Cumberland County game? Karns? Central game? Science Hill? Both Farragut games? Coach Gray constantly reminded us to play with heart. Every meeting after every series. Family and heart. Do it for your brother, do it for the jersey you were wearing. We would've been beaten off the field in those games without him. He brought success. From day one, he convinced us we could be successful. We never believed otherwise. Last year, we had terrible attitudes after the first week of practice. We were pumped this year. We KNEW this year was going to be different. His record of success he brought with him convinced every player in that locker room that we were going to get it done. 1. Senior-sophomore teams are always the more successful teams. Yes, it did help having them, and they were difference makers. But every good program is built around seniors and this year was no different. Our seniors were still the reason for this season. 2. The defense last year was atrocious, in large part because we were punting from the 20 every series and had our backs to the wall, and we had a beat up linebacking corp and small secondary. We could afford to play more aggressive D this year and take more chances because we knew our offense had our back. If I recall, we scored 28 points on defense this year. Two TD's were Adam Canter making great plays on horrible decisions by the other team. Another was a tipped ball at Jeff Co. and Thomas picked it up and ran with it. The last was a lucky bounce into Jordan Maynard's hands on Central's THIRD string. 3. How was our schedule any easier? Cumberland County was better this year than South Doyle teams of the past and we added Central, who lost to only Maryville! How is that easier? We had to play AT D-B, Cumberland County(the suana), and at Farragut in the playoffs! If the administration does what is right, Ron Gray will be the nest head coach at Bearden High School. There is no better mant for the job in my opinion, or the opinions of a LARGE majority of the other current and former players. Anything else?
  17. Thank you. I just want to play the game, as do these other guys we have mentioned. D-B was always the classiest team we played. I have nothing but respect for the Indian program. I will keep the board posted.
  18. Honestly, I seriously doubt the money matters to him. He is about the kids. Why couldn't he teach at OR and coach at Bearden? He did it last year.
