Sometimes you have to give people credit for what they have improved on. I know there are a lot of teams where the entire story is 18 K's. Riverdale is cocky and I am not sure that will win state. Hope they havent printed up shirts yet. After seeing their performace last night I am not sure they will win state.

Oakland is 4-1 in district play.

Finney, you forgot to tell them that the first softball team didn't use gloves, they caught it bare-handed, and the pitchers threw 109 mph. Also, they had amazing take-out slides that would be illegal today and they didn't worry about running into the fence, they just jumped over it. That is the story I got from Nelson a few times anyway. And I am glad to finally know a word to describe you "colorful".

Oakland won 1-0. It was a short scrimmage. Oaklands bats weren't on as well as they were vs. Coffee Co. but still played well. Shelbyville has a good defensive team but aren't a very strong hitting team.

You must not have seen the same game I saw. Oakland dominated hitting. You saw the same JV game I did, you must have arrived late.

It will be a good game and the best team will win. Things did take place at the CC game perhaps but it really doesn't matter. The players learn to let things go why can't adults? It is just a game. That is the most important thing to be said: Softball is a game. No matter how seriously adults and especially coaches take it it's just that. If you can't take things in stride sports might not be the best thing for you to be doing with your time. It is hard at many times but it can still be done. The sport of softball is turning into a job due to adults. Many girls who have a love for the game can't play all because of comments from parents and coaches. Everyone from every team lets just use common sense and good judgement in future games regardless of what has happened. Play your game and when you get off the field let it go. Who cares. Riverdale has 3 potential pitchers all of which have the ability to pitch well. They do not always have to pitch Amanda they just choose to. Oakland has a very strong starting pitcher and two freshman that I believe have the ability also to be great pitchers as they get more playing time. No Riverdale is not the strongest team now but with 5 starting Freshman watch out in about 2 years.

Once again I think 7AAA is being forgotten. With Oakland as the number 1 seed with a strong starting line up from top to bottom and with players that can go from the bench onto the field and play as well as the starters. Also Blackman has improved greatly over the season and will be a team to watch out for in the coming years. Lebanon also has a strong hitting and fielding team. Riverdale has 5 starting Freashman that as they continue to play they will be a team to watch out for. 7AAA isn't as popular as some other districts but nonetheless shouldnt be forgotten. They may surprise a lot of people.

Has anyone heard much about Oakland this year? I heard they have several very good freshman and the whole team can step up and play anywhere. Has anyone who has played or heard about them know for sure. We play them in a few days and I was told not to hit up the middle either game that the pitcher and center fielders are awesome. Let me know what you know.
