  1. dissapointed to see no more LC. Those games were always fun. Good luck G and when you head to the 'Boro, Coach Logan wont be far behind.
  2. region 2 is always tough. look for Harriman or Rockwood to make a good run towards state.
  3. DISCLAIMER:I think Joei Fiegler is a good quarterback. This doesnt surprise me however. Fiegler was nowhere near the best quarterback the area had to offer. Not only was he the second best QB in his region, rumor has it he may have been the second best QB on his team. Congratulations to Fiegler though. He is a hard working individual and im sure he'll represent Region 2-AA and the Alcoa community well in Chattanooga.
  4. Its true. However many of Alcoa's players do indeed play both ways. Lindsey, Warren, White, Shiverdecker, Sommer, Lanxter and Reid, all big name players, played both ways this past season.
  5. tomorrow is the big day, who will these guys be signing their letters of intent for?
  6. i was trying to stay out of it because i believe my past comments were blown way out of proportion.
  7. old24eagle, no, i mean the Harriman team that has been notorious for choking in big game situations, i.e. the Coalfield region championship game. Not a Cloudland man, but i would be proud to be grouped with those guys anytime. They know how to win. wasplayernowcoach, no, i am not a coach. it was just an old nickname. like i said earlier, and i meant it as a compliment then as i do now, your enthusiasm is refreshing. ive seen cosby play all three major sports and until you have the kent blacks and the timmy blakelys and the dexter manning type athletes coming out for your football program and as excited about the game of football as these kids get about basketball, itll be rough. its a known fact that young kids dream of suiting up in the blue and black but as a basketball player. ive been to cosby for a basketball game and the looks on the kid's faces when they ran out of the lockerroom, they were their heroes. until a precident is set like that of the basketball team, the base of kids that want to strap up the helmets instead of lace up the sneakers will be very lopsided.
  8. We are all just going to pretend that you made a mistake here.
  9. First of all, i would consider the competition that the first round game was against, a Harriman team famous for choking in big game situations. Second of all, people havent "had the blue and black circled on their schedules" for years and have yet to be sorry for it.
  10. wasplayernowcoach, your enthusiasm is refreshing. until losses(and big losses at that) at the hands of teams like Oakdale(who finished last in your sister region) and North Greene are eliminated, Cosby cannot be considered a true contender for anything.
  11. Your confidence is good. confidence is key in the game of football. In terms of what Cloudland and Hampton is losing. I've seen them lose key players and ive seen them turn right around and still be stacked. Until Cosby gets its focus off basketball and onto football and baseball, those programs will be mediocre at best.
  12. Im proud of you Rich. You've come an awful long way since you were the little kid with the broken collarbone on the sideline.
  13. Im not sure that a region title is obtainable as long as Hampton and Cloudland are around. More power to you if you can get it though.
  14. Heres another excellent example of private schools going out there and doing what is necessary to win. Congratulations Coach Allen and all Silverdale players. Hopefully this will be the start of another great tradition from Tennessee private schools.
  15. My guess is that you specifically mean Brandon Thompson from Sunbright. I thought the same thing Brian.
  16. The post above yours has a point though. I did not thinking that the team was that bad. For example, the fact that Dustin Lindsey averaged 10.6 YPC and 1500+ yards rushing with another very good back in the backfield made me feel as if he should be on the list. Maybe Lee Smith over Charlie Seivers. The only real concern I had was the listing of good offensive players as defensive all stars. Cody Watts as a first team DB? He had 19 tackles as reported by the paper. He is a great athelete so put him in there as an offensive or defensive athelete. Dont rob players with 7 or 6 interceptions and more tackles a spot on the team because Cody Watts was a heck of a quarterback. Not right in my opinion.
  17. Thats one of the most ridiculous statements ever posted on CoachT. Congratulations.
  18. no, Lamance was the best. One man cant make a whole line though.
  19. if i remember correctly, the line was supposed to be one of the more dominant in region 2 this year and we all saw how that turned out.
  20. was this team ever released?
  21. Actually, i have seen Smith play. And as previously posted, i believe he is a very good player but he is no all american. I think that he could start in Alcoa's secondary. Im not even an Alcoa supporter so lets get that straight. I think that Smith is a top 5 all around player in the prepXtra this year but i dont think he is on par with Alcoa's studs or a Dennis Rogan that carried the offense on his back all season.
  22. i think it can be determined very easily that neither Fiegler nor Harb's strength is mobility. What do you think bigmontana?
  23. Okay so maybe they do have interest, but at this point in his career, i would be surprised if he were offered a scholarship to a big time program. between now and next season he could very well become the stud player that this topic is making him out to be but until then, i stick by my words.
  24. I am absolutley baffled that you have the audacity to put Harrison Smith in the same category as Dustin Lindsey and Brandon Warren. In terms of runningbacks this season, Harrison Smith was the 5th best one that i was able to watch behind Lindsey, Rogan, Shiverdecker and Tallent. Defensively, i would say that Smith was the 3rd best defensive back that i saw this year behind Lanxter and Jay Smith from CAK. Harrison Smith is a good player, no doubt. He wont be an All American, Charlie Weis did not call him and he will not go to play at a D-1 powerhouse like Notre Dame.
