It was disappointing to see the Nike team without McAdoo and the Williams kid. The Future hustled from start to finish and was suffocating on the press. The Wildcats shooting percentage was very good for the night. The Ballerz are quick and have a post that has probably been underestimated. #34 for the Shooting Stars was definitely "the man". The games were clearly won tonight....no squabbling about the refs!!!

This should be the best 13u tournament for the midstate this year. Who knows what team will take this one, but it is going to be one heck of a weekend for 13u basketball!! I think it is so exciting to see this many guality teams coming out of the midstate. If this area continues building its organizations, we will give Memphis a great run at it all!!

Fuson is definitely not lazy and pitchers have off days, BA has a very talented team and should play well in Memphis!! Good luck to the Eagle baseball team.

Matt Ridings, BGA, is the real deal. He pitched a shut out against MBA for a trip to the D2 state. That is pitching under pressure!! GO WILDCATS!!

Brandon Wright is dominate. He can handle the ball like a guard, and take any post player. He reminds me of a young Kevin Garnett. Who in Memphis is going to stop him?

In all of the games, Nike played 12 kids, with starters sometimes playing less than half the game. That shows a pretty good team when everyone has an opportunity to play major minutes. Also, I don't think the Nike team has any "stars", just some ballers. McAdoo, Parker, Kelly, Pope and Wallace played less than anyone and handed the Pacesetters a 15+ loss. Thank Coach Patton for being generous and a class act. The Shooting Stars gave the Nike team a good game. The Mondelli kid really played well for them. They are going to be a team to be reckoned with in state.

Who is the pg for the lst TN Stars? Where is he from and what are his stats?

I don't know who you think LadyBaller4 is, but my son played in the AAU Nationals on 3 different occasions. Twice with the same organization. And as the saying goes BDOE and aqua, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Good Luck to you guys!!

It's sad, but true.....basketball and baseball travel teams are not going to Knoxville any longer because of the officiating around that area. It is not just one team, one tournament or one age group....it's the whole pie!! Until someone steps in and runs a decent tournament, basketball or baseball, Knoxville will stay off the map and people will continue to complain any time they do venture that way!!

When coaches are unethical with money and players, there will always be "rumors". It is not a rumor that the Futures head coach has been ousted by several teams over the past 4 years and has to keep getting new kids. Yes, he does take his teams to the Nationals every year....but then, he loses them all. No one is talking about the kids...just the coach.

I understand the kid that scored all those points from the Elite team tried to be a one man show. Maybe Kats/Daddy knows for sure. Memphis has been inundated with calls this week because AAU has never had all tournament teams in sub-state or state play. How did they come up with it this year in Knoxville? We've been involved in AAU for over 14 years and it has never been done in Lynchburg, Nashville, Jackson or Memphis. I've never even heard of it happening in Knoxville, until this year.

The 13u team from Dyersburg won the sub-state for the west.

I agree, Josh Bone did a very good job at BA this year. He will definitely be a fun point guard to watch over the next several years. Thanks for reminding me!

I understand Adam Plavich, Fr., Baylor, TN Travelers, is one of the top point guards in the state. I have heard that at his age, he is better than brother, Brendan, who played for Vanderbilt and is now at NC State. Who's challenging for top honors at this age group?

AAU does not have all tournament teams in state or substate, only YBOA. We are talking AAU tournament here.

If anyone knows the players and parents on these teams...it won't happen. If the Ala. is that good how would they benefit by joining with the Wildcats? If they have a #5 man that can dunk and a great "1 man, where will Henley and Allen play? I can't see those two boys playing second team to anyone. Ya'll are just talking some smack.

Last year doesn't matter anymore, this year does. Because of the changes in size, speed and maturity at this age some of last years "bigdogs" are this years "pups". Wait and see. If you have a giant #5 man with no hops, you don't have anything. If you have a #1 man under 5'6" that can't handle the rock, you are going home fast.

How can you put Nike Select behind Future, Wildcats, YOMCA if you haven't seen the team play yet. It will be interesting to see how it will all go down at the State. I wouldn't bet on any particular placement just yet. I think it could be anybodies game depending on the day. This should be one of the best state tournaments for this age bracket in years!

The Oak Ridge Bulls have been to the Nationals repeatedly since age 9 or 10. The Future's coach has taken a different team to the Nationals every year for the past 3 years. The Wildcats have some talent but did not make it out of sub-state last year. Their roster looks a lot different this year, but do they have what it takes to get out of the state? YOMCA and several of the other Memphis area clubs always put good teams on the floor. Nike Select has kept their team tight to the vest, no one has seen them play with their entire roster. They definitely have a very talented roster with really good size. What do you know about the team from Dyersburg? They won the western division. Anyone have any info on them?

Collins, the Future's coach, understands the game of basketball. He thinks fast, makes adjustments when needed and his team always hustles. No matter what you think of him as a person....he's a very good basketball coach! That obviously was the case in the Future v. Wildcats game. There will probably be a rematch somewhere down the road.

As far as really good coaches go, add Tony Thompson and Sheila from the Tennessee Thunder Teams. They were both excellent players and know the game inside and out. They teach the kids well and are very good role models for them.

I saw the same thing in the Nike team. McAdoo can dunk, and one other player is almost there. The three starters that were missing from Hooptown/MTSU are ready to go. Nike seems like a well balanced team with the addition of a very good coach. They will definitely be the team to watch.

I've seen Nike play without its 3 starters and they ran the floor well. I would like to see them match up against the future.

Who won the 10/U boys Sub-State in the Central North tournament? Can you tell me anything about this team? Who is looking good in the 10/U age group? Any particular players (position) to watch?
