The biggest thing is getting your name out there. Sorry to correct you but wilhoit was not accurate from outside of 40 yards. He actually wasn't the most accurate kicker in the world in high school. he went 32 for 50 But he did have 2 things going for him....People knew about him. Its all about exposure. Make a big kick here and there and people turn their heads towards you. He also had a strong leg. Ya need to be able to kick the ball well into the endzone if not through it, With all kinds of hang time too. But being accurate is another road. Look at John Vaughn from Brentwood Academy last year. He made 39-44 field goals on his career and was all state 3 times. Granted, this may never be beat.....it is somthing to shoot for. Vaughn's long in his career was only 49. He never made any long kicks and he is at Auburn now. Just have a successfull career. They will find you.

Its not a matter of how long Vaughn had to do it....He had four years....and wilhoit had 2 years...but vaughn had less fg attempts than wilhoit. I don't understand what your point is. wilhoit was 32 for 50.....vaughn was 39 for 44. the point is......in 4 years Vaughn missed five field goals....wilhoit missed 18 in 2 years. All three kickers could "do it all" vaughn kicked off some his senior year and all of them were touchbacks. Vaughn could have been the punter for any other team and Bliss could have been the field goal kicker for any other team. Wilhoit was just jacked up by Murphy Fair and the press. He had a great career but his #'s don't even get close to as high as vaughns were. Wilhoit will have a good career at Tennessee and i wish him the best. Vaughn and Bliss are down at Auburn, best of luck to them too.

Oh yeah..... Vaughn also is 4th on the National career field goals list. Only 3 people in history have made more field goals than vaughn did in high school. Adam Vinitari and Mike Vanderjact are on that list. As well as Kris Brown. Vaughn made more than all of them in his high school career.

Wilhoit was a great high school kicker but... there may never be a kicker that gets even close to what vaughn did. He hit 39 our of 44 field goal attempts on his career. Wilhoit hit 32 out of 50. Vaughn hit 39 out of 41 from inside 50 yards. and he never missed inside of 39. As for extra points, he had four misses in 4 years. 2 were blocks. so he missed 2 in 4 years. Vaughn was the offensive MVP of the clinic bowl his junior year. When was the last time a kicker did that? Forget the TSSAA record stuff, they arn't up to date. Bliss did hit a 61 yard field goal. Wilhoit hit 21 field goals in a his senior year, ........21 for 35......that year, vaughn was a junoir and he hit 17 out of 19. wilhoit was good and he will have success at ut, but there is no possible way that you can say he was better than vaughn. vaughn's #'s are just too much more impressive.

Mccallie fans are gonna be talkin about that 4 out of the last 5 stat for the next 20 years. yall can say what u want but ba will embarrass mccallie if they play again. Ba is hitting on all cylinders. And ba played their worst game against mccallie and only lost by 1.
