  1. I think final was 89-69. The Pioneers played a solid first, second, and fourth quarter, but the third was the turning point. We committed a lot of turnovers which led to easy points for the Cavs. Overall, it was a step in the right direction. Brassel-16, Thrower-14, Prater-11 or 12, but 10 players scored for them. Stay strong Pioneers!!
  2. 69-39 Cookeville. Wilkinson led with 13. She had a great third quarter 8 points and 4 boards. Rogers had 11, King had 8. I know they have a lot of issues, but stay up ladies! It's gotta get better.
  3. Well, Injun Joe, that would be a big, fat zero! Although Wilkinson played some at Hooptown. It is not pushed here like it should be. It was for awhile, but it too faded away.
  4. Funny, Wolverine....er, Logan.... SportsEd. Nope, honestly I only know how to type on computer, haven't learned to write yet. lol It wasn't me, man.
  5. What is really sad is the boys (freshman) caanot play against I think Oakland and siegel because they do not have a girls' team. Shouldn't they get to play or is this a "higher" made decision
  6. Anyone see the Overton game saturday? Just wndering about the game.....I know they lost just wanted some insight.

    7AAA

Looks like Maxwell has Riverdale rolling right now, good wins over top-notch competition. siegel has been on fire a little bit too. I saw where Warren Co lost 32-38 to Overton saturday and Oakland lost to a good Loudon team 61-55, I think. Looks like another stout year in 7AAA. Happy New Year everyone!!!
  8. WC-33 Gallatin-48 Friday WC-60 Pope John Paul II-71 Saturday Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!
  9. congrats to Shelton, Kyrie, Cody, and Morgan. You guys played hard and deserve it.
  10. Males have stronger hamstrings and weaker quads, females have stronger quads and weaker hamstrings. The hamstring is what helps the ACL/MCL, so females have a disadvantage already! Add in when the estrogen levels dip (which coat and keeep the ACL flexible) during each month, females are behind the 8 ball again. I hope this gives some insight, and no I'm not a doctor, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night! lol
  11. Wow! I just asked about the Blackman game. Looks like I still got it. lol Good luck against an undefeated White Co. team. All of the girls on the team are great, competative student-athletes. They are all keepers in my book. Peace out!
  12. How did last nights game against Blackman go? Anyone?
  13. You have to learn to take criticism and all these players that are told how great they are and are moddlecoddled in the early grades cannot handle the truth that they have to WORK HARD and get better than they were the year before instead of mom and dad saying their All-CTC or All-County son can't handle the pressure. This is true in all sports just as much as basketball. Give me Kyrie Harris, Micheal Thrower, and others playing more than one sport and wanting to play for Warren County and not for their parents sake! Give him(Coach Smith) time because he works harder than any other coach I know! (No offense to Madewell, Holt, Fisher, Upton, etc. basketball only) If the girls can have "rebuilding and youthful players playing" through the years, so can he!!!
  14. Well, the season starts tonight. If the girls struggle against Dekalb, an improved Deklab team (they hit the 3 and we play zone), it will be a long season. Good luck girls, do good!
  15. As if! Someone with big brass cajones would have to make a decision. They have a hard enough time making decisions over the schedule and messin with the football program, much less than thinkin what is killin our sports programs here? Hmmmmmm...... It's funny that Riverdale, Lebanon, Ravenwood, Coffee Co., Franklin, and Gallatin would be looking for head coaches before we would. Wow. we've had it too easy here.
  16. Good Luck next year, maybe they should set a win limit contract, if she doesn't win enough games, she has to resign. Sounds good! peace
  17. Wha about Erica the freshman coach?
  18. Look what happened at Lebanon after a coaching change- district tourney titles for freshman and varsity. Our own Erica Mathis is a coach there as well. Food for thought.
  19. Oh by the way, congratulations to Coach Brown and the Lebanon devilettes for winning the 7AAA tournament in his second year. What a turnaround for that program. Freshman and varsity tournament winners. good job Erica as well.
  20. Big props to the Lady Stars for beating a very tried and persistant Warren County last night. They held off till the fourth quarter and then put them away. Warren County has a Middle school that is pretty good, BUT they also have 5 K-8 elementary schools as well. That would give you the indication that we have quite a few to choose from. Not the case! The football, baseball, soccer teams can have the county kids play and goto their respected elementary schools, BUT in basketball you have to go to the middle school to play. It would be interesting if we could take the best 8th, 7th, and 6th graders in the COUNTY and see what we looked like then. This sets us back a couple of years in chemistry. I have been saying this for six years now, I believe. Nothing new.
  21. I totally agree with you. This county has become stale and predictable. Change OVERALL is needed!! Girls hung tough, but depth becomes an issue after awhile. By the way, congratulations to Kelsey Nowlin for her third place All-district selection (she is from Warren Co)! BUT NOT HAVING FRAZIER OR BOWMAN ON IT STINGS ME. They were good enough to warrant a selection.
  22. Well if anyone had a brain, they could take care of these problems easily. DO NOT REHIRE!!! I , for one, in my lifetime would like to see what the team would be like under different guidance. Good luck against siegel. Seniors I admire you for four years of dedication.
  23. So what is the over/under for tonights game? Just think, with Oakland and Dekalb coming up she is getting closer to that magical 100 win mark. Almost equals out to 10 wins a season. I wonder what goes through the peoples minds that signed that petition many years ago. Was it the right hire? records speak louder than words 97-201. The worst part is, its not the record that bothers me, but she has had this much time to GET that record. Deep thoughts, huh? Peace
  24. well,well,well...... After some digging with the underground, Hoop has some info for all those people dying to know her career record..... Actually there might be two celebrations on tap this year. First she could win her 100th game this year and second lose her 200th game. CAREER RECORD as of 01/30/08 97-199! She could get her 200th loss this friday at siegel. So, the question is will Big Brother present her a game ball after the game or save it for Saturday night at home against Sparta so we can all enjoy it? And yes folks this is the exact record for her career. Makes you think don't it?
  25. Congratulations to Coach Smith with the victory over Lebanon to break a long district losing streak in 7AAA. They have come close many times and I think this may help build momentum towards the district tourney. I know its just one win, but the team (coaches and players) have worked hard and deserve a little recognition. Peace
